4K Travel Guide to Azenhas do Mar
Azenhas do Mar
Luring in travelers from around the world, there are certain countries that are known for their collection of picturesque towns. In this video, I am going to present one of the beautiful seaside towns called Azenhas do Mar, Azenhas do Mar is a seaside town in the municipality of Sintra, Portugal. It is part of Colares civil parish.
Azenhas do Mar means Watermills of the Sea and the name derives from a once-powerful stream that moved the watermills as it made its way to the sea. The Mediterranean-looking village is a literal cliffhanger, with white houses tumbling down to the Atlantic, creating a picturesque scenery that inspired painters and graced postcards in the mid-20th century.
At that time, wealthy families from Lisbon and Sintra also decided that the stunning location was perfect for their summer homes, which you’ll see outside the main cluster of houses. Some of them were even designed by Portugal’s leading architects, who attempted to create an authentic “Portuguese Style,” which included the traditional blue-and-white tile panels on the façades. Most of the houses, however, were originally the homes of a fishing community, built close together at the top of the cliff, creating a maze of streets and patios overlooking the coast. Steps at the bottom of the cliff lead down to a small approximately 30-meter wide beach, faced by a popular restaurant. How much space you have to spread your towel depends on the tides (at high tide the beach often disappears), and there’s also a platform meant to trap the seawater and create a pool.

It is located 3km away from Praia das Maçãs beach and 14km away from Sintra historical centre.
Travel to Colares and Cascais, Portugal ????????
As part of our day tour, we visited Cabo da Roca in Colares, Portugal. It’s a very beautiful place, in which, as per our tour guide, they call it as the end of the world. Probably, because it’s the westernmost point in continental Europe. It’s rocky cliffs are made up of granite and limestone boulders.
From Cabo da Roca, we proceeded to Cascais, which is a municipality of Lisbon District of Portugal, located in the Portuguese riviera. This place is a favorite vacation destination and fast becoming a top retirement spot in Portugal. Mainly, because of its gorgeous beaches, cobbled streets, glamour life and natural surroundings. Most rich people of Portugal lives in this place. It also has the second largest casino in Europe.

Colares, Portugal - Praia Da Ursa
This video was taken at Praia Da Ursa in the Sintra region of Portugal. We had to hike about 25 minutes down cliffs to get to this remote beach. The rock formations and large waves make this beach spectacular to visit. We were celebrating my sisters wedding and it was a little trip for the wedding party to explore. It is at the western most point of continental Europe which is pretty cool!

Praia da Ursa ???? Ursa Beach ????️ Cabo da Roca ⛯ Colares ???? Sintra - 4K UltraHD
Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of mainland Portugal and continental Europe. It is located in the parish of Colares, municipality of Sintra and district of Lisbon.
A stone pattern with a tombstone marks this geographical feature to everyone who visits this place.
Located close to Cabo da Roca, Praia da Ursa is accessed via a dirt road, followed by a winding and steep path that finally ends in this quiet, uncrowded beach.
Despite the dangerous route, the effort is rewarded by the superb landscape that can be enjoyed, dominated by the huge rock formations on the beach. It owes its name precisely to one of these rocks, whose shape resembles a bear.
