For those with wanderlust coursing through their veins and a penchant for fine wine, this petite town offers an experience like no other.
1. Chablis’ Liquid Gold: A Wine Lover’s Paradise
At the heart of Chablis lies its undisputed crown jewel: the sprawling vineyards producing the illustrious Chardonnay grape. Known for its mineral-rich terroir resulting from ancient sea beds, the wine of Chablis is often described as having a unique flinty taste.
Wine Tours: Dive deep into the culture of winemaking as you walk through ancient vineyards, learning about the intricate process from vine to bottle. Guided tours often culminate in tastings where you can savour the crisp, fresh flavour of Chablis wines.
Domaine Visits: Many local wineries, known as ‘domaines’, open their doors to visitors. Here, you can meet winemakers, explore wine cellars, and, of course, sample the finest selections.
2. History Etched in Stone: The Architectural Wonders of Chablis
Saint-Martin’s Collegiate Church: This 13th-century Gothic marvel stands testament to Chablis’ medieval past. With its majestic facade and intricate stained-glass windows, it offers a serene escape.
Old Town Charm: Wandering through Chablis' old town is like stepping into a bygone era. Cobbled streets, ancient houses, and charming squares transport travellers to medieval times.
3. Gastronomic Delights: Savor the Flavors of Chablis
Chablis isn’t just about wine. The town boasts a rich culinary tradition, with many local eateries offering Burgundian classics.
Local Markets: A visit to the Marché Bourguignon de Chablis lets you delve into the region's gastronomy. From creamy cheeses to fresh produce, it's a sensory treat.
Gourmet Dining: Many restaurants in Chablis serve dishes that perfectly complement the local wine. Indulge in escargots de Bourgogne, coq au vin, or the iconic beef bourguignon.
4. Events and Festivals: Celebrating the Spirit of Chablis
Chablis hosts several events throughout the year, celebrating its wine culture and community spirit.
Fête des Vins: Held annually, this wine festival is a joyous occasion where the entire town gathers to celebrate their prized produce. Wine tastings, folk dances, and vineyard tours make it a must-visit event.
Jazz Festival: For music lovers, the Chablis Jazz Festival promises soulful tunes amidst the idyllic backdrop of vineyards and historic structures.
5. Natural Escapes: Reconnect with Nature
Serein River Strolls: The serene banks of the Serein River offer a peaceful retreat. Whether you're in the mood for a leisurely walk or a picturesque picnic, the river's gentle charm will captivate you.

6. Stay in Chablis: From Cozy Inns to Luxury Retreats
Chablis offers a range of accommodation options, each echoing the town's quaint charm. Stay in historic chateaus transformed into luxury hotels or opt for family-run inns that offer a personal touch. Each morning, wake up to views of vineyards drenched in the morning dew or the town's ancient rooftops bathed in the golden sunrise.

Les golfs en IDF
18 septembre 1993
