Epic flight adventure. France from above in a PA28
France is a beautiful country with all kinds of incredible landscapes from the stunning Alps to Côte d'Azur, all of which can be experienced on a single flight. Moreover, it is a general aviation heaven. The airspase can look a bit complicated at the first glance, but its complexity is more than compensated by the helpfulness and professionalism of the ATCs on all levels.
In July 2019 we took a VFR family trip in a PA28 all the way from Bremen (EDDW) to Cannes (LFMD) and back and that was my best flight experience to date.

In Frankreich besuchen wir auch ein interessantes Eisenbahnmuseum. Vom Bahnhof Longueville läuft man ca. 700 m bis zum „Living Railway Museum – Ajecta“. Vom Gare de L`est in Paris fährt stündlich ein Zug her. Wir fahren zum Glück mit dem Auto vor. Auch hier stehen viele Fahrzeuge herum, die man vor der Schrottpresse gerettet glaubt. Ganz pünktlich kommt ein freundlicher Herr an, der die Lokschuppentore öffnet. Es zeigt sich leider ein allgemeines Problem in Frankreich:
Er kann nur französisch, wir neben deutsch meistens nur englisch und ein paar Brocken französisch. Er versucht sich mit dem Übersetzer seines Smartphone verständlich zu machen. Ich finde es jedenfalls sehr angenehm, wenn sich 9 Leutchen uneingeschränkt im Museum bewegen können.
Wer Einzelheiten zu den Lokomotiven nachlesen möchte, bitte auf die Seite des Museums gehen oder auf Wikipedia nachlesen. Auch die Filme von Veranstaltungen im Museum hier auf YouTube sind informativ. Vom 6. - 8. Mai 2023 findet wieder ein Fest statt.
