Gorges du Fier | A natural wonder in the Rhône-Alpes region | Lovagny Haute-Savoie | France
A very narrow and deep gorge that can be visited thanks to a footbridge fixed to the side of the rock, built in 1869 by the Annecy architect Marius Vallin and Listed since 1943. The gorges were formed by meltwater from the glacier, which gave birth to Lake Annecy. It then took between 20,000 and 30,000 years for the water to create the gorge in the rock bed.

Après le petit train le Montenvers , nous prenons le téléphérique au site supérieur du Montenvers à 1913m - Descente en téléphérique jusqu'au belvédère surplombant le glacier de la mer de glace - une vue imprenable sur la mer de glace et les aiguilles du Mont-Blanc - Visite de la grotte de glace - couloir d'une centaine de mètres taillé dans la glace (appartement sculpté dans la glace avec des effets de changements de couleurs)
Le recul du glacier est marqué par des dates -
Lorsque nous arrivons au Montenvers, les Drus en face (3754m) , l'aiguilles du Moine (3412m) les grandes Jorasses (4208m) en arrière, la vallee blanche et l'aiguille du grand Charmoz (3445m) sur la droite.
