Serengeti Safari Marathon - 2020

Serengti Safari Marathon - Tanzania

*test* Mugumu, Tanzania, 25 juli 2007

The Idiots Abroad - Tanzania - Wildlife Safari video - Episode 3 - Manyara, Serengeti.

The Idiots spent a month in Tanzania in Oct.-Nov. 2011. Part of their visit was a 10 day wildlife safari in the parks often referred to as The Northern Circuit. These include Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Serengeti National Park.

The entire video runs approximately one hour, so the Idiots have also posted the video in segments for those interested in specific parts of the safari.

Highlights include street scenes from Mbo Wa Mta (Mosquito River) and Karatu; a few photographs from Lake Manyara NP including flamingos and owls (most pictures taken there were birds and they have their own album and upcoming video); Rainbow in the Serengeti

music: Batonga Angelique Kidjo (Afrika's current diva extraordinaire); Jambo Bwana Kenyan Boys Choir

Driving out of the Ngorongoro crater

Driving out of the Ngorongoro crater in a Toyota 4x4 safari jeep. The tourist travel & field guide of the Ngorongoro: Conservation area Paperback – Safari Sun Hat Beige, you'll need a good hat to protect against the sun: You go down, steel into the crater. But you come out on the other side (one-way roads in and out of the conservation area) Down in the Ngorongoro crater you see all kinds of wildlife. The big 5 basically and more! We even saw the rhino and many lions! Coming out, you go into a jungle and the temperatures drop as you raise to 2,300 meters! Down in the crater it is 1600 meters.

Video taken with a Sony FDRAX53/B 4K HD Video Recording Camcorder (Black):

We filmed the entire trip or drive out of the crater from the floor to the peak of the road/mountain. We passed some Cape buffalo and zebras. And you’ll get some great views of the Ngorongoro crater from above! Tour was with Tanzania Specialist and the vehicle was a Toyota Landcruiser 4WD, of course. 4x4 was needed more then once on this safari as was a spare-tire!

Latest #HerdTracker update: Great Wildebeest Migration heading towards the Western Corridor

Céline Vdc witnessed a large herd of the wildebeest and zebra heading towards the Western Serengeti, Tanzania.

June and July are the most popular times to visit the Western Corridor and the Grumeti to see the Grumeti River crossings and the herds on the move, but September and October are also great months to see the remaining herds of zebra and wildebeest, along with other resident wildlife such as elephant, leopard and lion.

If you’re travelling during June and July, you’ll need to reserve lodging far in advance, as there aren’t many places to stay in the region!
