Khanom Beach - Nakhon Si Tammarat Thailand - 8 KM of Solitude
Khanom Beach
Nakhon Si Tammarat province
If you like deserted beaches then Khanom beach in the Nakhon Si Tammarat province of Thailand could be the place for you. Kilometres of empty sand on the gulf of Thailand just a short distance from Samui island but a million miles away in terms of atmosphere.
This is a place where you can enjoy doing absolutely nothing at all, except may be going to see some pink dolphins.
Khanom is off the beaten trail and not well serviced by public transport so it’s best to have your own transport.
The three beaches of Haad Kho Khao to the north, Haad Hua Thanon to the south and Haad Nadan in the middle are collectively referred to as Khanom beach. Haad Nadan has the most choices for accommodation and restaurants but it’s still very quiet.
Accommodations in Khanom can fill up on weekends and Thai public holidays when Thai families drive in from the cities. The area is a lot quieter during the week.
The main tourist activity from Khanom beach is taking a boat out to spot Irrawaddy dolphins, unique because of their violet colouration.
You can hire a long tail boat an driver from the pier at Laem Prathap, early morning is best for a good chance to see them. The dolphins don’t come that close to the boats, you won’t be able to snorkel with them, but it’s a great experience.
If you arrive at the pier at 7:00 am you may be able to share a boat with other people looking to do likewise. Laem Prathap (Prathap cape) is about 20 km north of Khanom beach.
This amazing 8 KM of beach is well worth a visit plus there are many other things to do and see in the area.
Enjoy the video!

Thai Food at Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา) - Don't Miss Aunty's Fried Oyster Omelet!
►Read the blog for details on how you can visit Tha Kha Floating Market:
►Subscribe now for more food videos:
►Camera gear I use:
There are many floating markets you can visit when you’re in Thailand, and even there are some floating markets located right within Bangkok that are very nice (Khlong Lat Mayom is very nice in Bangkok:
Then there are also many floating markets about a 1 or 1.5 hour drive from Bangkok in a province called Samut Songkhram. In Samut Songkhram there are a number of other famous floating markets. Damnoen Saduak is the most famous of all, and it’s very touristy and gets very packed on the weekend. Amphawa is another Thai floating market that’s big and busy. But I wanted to go to a quieter and more peaceful floating market, so we decided to go to Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา), located very close to Amphawa.
It was my first time to visit Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา), and I was pleasantly surprised by how small, friendly, and local it was. There’s not a whole lot to do, but there are plenty of floating boats serving food and you can also buy lots of fresh ingredients which come from this area.
Along with plenty of Thai food snacks I ate during this tour of Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา), the best thing was the hoy tod (หอยทอด), a fried oyster omelet. There’s something about eating an oily fried oyster omelet when you go to a floating market - it’s kind of like going to a sports game and eating a hot dog - they just go so well together.
I also enjoyed the fruits available at the market, especially starfruit, which was likely picked right off the tree of the lady who was selling it.
When you’re in Thailand, if you want to go to a quiet and peaceful floating market that’s not overly busy and still remains quite local Tha Kha Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำท่าคา) is an amazing option.

Ayutthaya Night Market - Khanom Tom Muay Thai Festival - Thailand 2024
Nothing can finish a day in Ayutthaya better than an evening of walking and snacking on street food while shopping at Ayutthaya’s Night Market. Located on the city island of Ayutthaya in the historical park, near Wat Mahathat and Wat Ratcha Burana, the market is one of the popular local attraction in Ayutthaya.
The former capital comes to life in the evening when traders line up near the ancient ruin in the middle of the historical park selling various items and street food. The market experience is entertainment in itself and its added to with with great views of the ancient temples. Even if shopping is not your thing, just walking around and soaking up the atmosphere is a great source of entertainment.
It has been a Ayutthaya tradition for visitors to enjoy the ancient temples and museums by day and enjoy the night market as an evening event when the sun sets. The market becomes the focal point for vending stalls selling delicious street food. The warm atmosphere of the ancient capital completely fills this night market.
When taking a stroll through the night market, visitors can smell the aroma of cooking food. Ayutthaya Night Market has a great selection of seafood and local snacks, drawing a lot of attention from locals and tourists alike. Other than seafood, noodle and rice dishes are also easily found.
The foods sold here can be found elsewhere, but the flavors at this night market are as good as you will find anywhere. The market is packed with Thailand’s internationally recognized cuisine, and the variety makes it hard to decide which one you should try first.
This market is a special market in conjunction with the Muay Tai event that is celebrating one of the most famous Thais to practice this form of martial art. It lasts from the 13th of September until the 22nd, 2024. It’s a few hundred meters from the night market that is open every evening so both can be visited in an evening.

Best Things To Do And See in Chiang Mai Thailand
Here are some of the best things to do and see in Chiang Mai in Thailand. Commonly referred to as Thailand’s second city, Chiang Mai is a vibrant, colourful hotspot to visit for some of Thailand’s finest street markets, Thai street food, temples and scenery and is a quieter, smaller yet fascinating variation from Bangkok with its own charms.
As a tourist to Thailand, you wouldn’t want to miss out on this city and if you are a backpacker, you can find cheap dorms ($3) and hostels rooms starting around 6$ in this city way cheaper than in the more tourist rich areas of the country further south such as Koh Samui. Indeed, it forms an integral part of the backpacker’s trail, especially if you are trying to do things on a budget yet want to get that authentic cultural and insightful stay.
Backpacking in Thailand can be one of the safest and cheapest of travel experiences and is a good starting place on the map for any budding backpacker. Nearby in the north of Thailand are the other great destinations of Pai and Chiang Rai, all offering something different as they are inland destinations rather than the tourist heavy destinations of South Thailand – Bangkok, Koh Phangang, Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Lipe, Koh Lanta and the other beach resorts of Thailand. As well as the special temple at Wat Doi Suthep which contains the famous golden seated Buddha and can be reached by hiking the hills or via a traditional songthaew. ANother famous but ruined temple is Wat Chedi Luang founded in 1401 – a unique air of mystery surrounds this place and it shouldn’t be missed.
The Chiang Mai Gate Market is an absolute must for the best in Thai street food and market experience, especially at night as is the Sunday walking street starting at Thapae Gate. Don’t miss out on some of the best Thailand nightlife in these areas which are packed with bars and clubs after you’ve eaten.
If you want to see elephants being treated humanely, ethically and in sustainable ways on your visit to inland Thailand, one of the best places to see them is at the Elephant Nature Park (ENP) near Chiang Mai.
Getting out of the city yields beautiful trekking country in the hills where you’ll often come across tribes, waterfalls, Lakes and lakehouses such as at Mae Ngat Dam.

After doing the filming at the Karom Waterfall in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat, in the south of Thailand, we went to Wat That Noi.
It is a beautiful temple with a huge statue of the Buddha lying on its side painted in brilliant white and gold.
Nakhon Si Thammarat is a wonderful part of Thailand. Well worth a visit!
