What To Find In Prague's BIGGEST Flea Market, 🇨🇿 CZECHIA
There are all sorts of markets around the world and Prague's largest flea market was one which caught my eye of late.
You don't need a business license to flog your unwanted homeware, whilst knowing whatever you sell goes to someone who will cherish it.
Covering an area of over 50,000 square metres Bleší Trhy has a great atmosphere. If you only come to browse what's on offer you might well find inspiration to buy or flog something for next time.
This light-hearted video whisks you from Liben train station, Prague into the throng of sellers and consumers. It's an alternative side of Prague I like, one reason for filming such spot.
I hope you enjoy my content.

The Old Town Hall with the famous Prague Astronomical Clock. The winding lanes of the Jewish Quarter, which you know from the novels of Franz Kafka, steeped in the legend of the Golem. Cafes enticing you to come and have a seat, boutiques and sight-seeing cruises on the Vltava. The Gothic Charles Bridge and Church of St. Nicholas in the Lesser Town, the most beautiful Baroque church in Prague. The Palace Gardens set away from the bustle of the city, Petřín with a lookout tower reminiscent of a small Eiffel Tower and Prague Castle … Each of Prague’s districts has its own characteristic atmosphere and unique charm. Prague presents itself to you as a changeable city, which likes to alternate styles: it is romantic and successful, ancient and modern, but above all it is a city that is cosmopolitan through and through, and is used to welcoming foreigners. It is time to get acquainted.

Palmovka, Praha 8
Palmovka - is a crossroads in Prague, in the Libeň district, there is a street with the same name nearby.
The name Palmovka appeared in the 18th century. Before that, there were estates of vineyards, in 1631, they were bought by Adam Friedrich. Later, he resold these lands to a merchant from Mildenbrug, Vojtech Miler, in his honor this place began to be called Milerka. After his death, the vineyards were divided among the heirs. Part of the land was given to his daughter Vorsila, who married Daniel Palm. Since then, this place has been called Palmovka.
This name is usually associated with the intersection of Sokolovská and Zenklova streets. Until the mid-80s, a railway line ran here, which was liquidated for the construction of tram tracks. In 1990, a metro was built nearby, in the same year a tram was put into operation, running along the Palmovka-Ohrada route. With the appearance of the Palmovka metro station nearby, this name began to indicate the intersection of tram lines connecting the districts of Karlín, Žižkov, Vysočan, Kobylis, Holešovic and Libensky Bridge.

Initially, the name Palmovka referred to the Libeň vineyard estate No. 59, which no longer exists. According to the oldest historical sources, it was bought by Adam Fridrich in 1631 and later sold to the New Town merchant Matěj Vojtěch Miler of Mildenburg. After his death, the vineyard (at that time called Milerka) was divided among his heirs. One of the heirs was the daughter of Voršil, married to Palmová. Since then, the place has been called Palmovka.
In 1832, František Antonín Müller bought the whole area with a vineyard, building, a stable, a barn, brick arbors, and an orchard and established a soap and candle factory. He then produced alcoholic beverages in No. 2. The poet Vítězslav Hálek often visited the Müller family. According to unconfirmed reports, he wrote his last poems here. His great-granddaughter, the actress Jana Štěpánková, was for many years a member of the Theatre pod Palmovkou in Libeň.
In 1889, Palmovka was bought by real estate entrepreneur Vojtěch Švarc, who parcelled out the land and offered it for block development with apartment houses. The builder, Alfons Wertmüller, purchased the estate and donated a small part of the land to the municipality of Libeň to construct a new school. At the end of the 19th century, the surrounding streets began to be built, and the old homestead disappeared.
The name Palmovka is given to the quiet street, which houses, among others, the Palmovka Primary School. However, the term is used to refer to the intersection of Sokolovská and Zenklova Streets under the Libeňský gasworks, where a modern house of the same name and a café were built at the beginning of the 20th century. After the closure of the railway line and especially after the opening of the Prague metro station on the B line, this designation moved about 100 meters further north and marks the junction of tram lines from Karlín, Žižkov, Vysočany, Kobylis, and Holešovice at the beginning of the Libeň Bridge.
Until the mid-1980s, the railway line from the Vysočany railway station to the Prague-Těšnov station ran across Palmovka (it ran in the location of today's tram line in Na Žertvách Street). Passenger traffic on this section was discontinued in 1972, and freight 12 years later. Near the protected level crossing at Palmovka, there was the Prague-Libeň lower station.
After the liquidation of the line, most of the station was demolished, and due to the high traffic, Palmovka became a vibrant place. 1986 metro construction began here; the station underneath was opened in November 1990. The tram line from Palmovka to Ohrada was opened in the same year. Like a large part of Prague, Palmovka was affected by a five-hundred-year flood in 2002 caused by the backflow of water from the Vltava River into the Rokytka basin.

Praha-Libeň railway station (Czech: Nádraží Praha-Libeň) is a mainline railway station located in Libeň, Prague 9. It is situated on track 11 linking Prague to Český Brod and Kolín, which also forms part of the main railway corridor linking Prague to Brno and Olomouc. Since its reconstruction which took place between 2008 and 2010, as part of the Nové Spojení project, several international services have served this station as well as the more central Praha hlavní nádraží. The station area also contains a large freight yard and is a centre for freight services operated by ČD Cargo as well as passenger transport. The station served 876,000 passengers in 2006.
The line from Olomouc to Prague as it was first opened in 1845 passed through the then village of Libeň, but a station was not built on the line until 1877, between the then named Praha statní nádraží (today's Masarykovo nádraží) and Běchovice stations. In 1923 the station was renamed Libeň horní nádraží (Libeň high-level station) to distinguish it from the low-level station (dolní nádraží) which led to the now demolished terminus at Těšnov. In 1926 a cut-and-cover line was built under Vítkov hill linking Libeň station to Praha hlavní nádraží.
In the late 1970s the station was modernised and shortly afterwards a new link was built to Praha-Holešovice railway station, intended to serve the international services the two central stations could no longer handle.
The station is situated within walking distance of the O2 Arena, and was thus instrumental in the infrastructure for the 2004 IIHF World Championship. Libeň station is not connected to the Prague Metro, but is connected to the city's public transport system by buses and trams.

České dráhy (ČD) or Czech Railways is the main railway operator in the Czech Republic. In 2010 its consolidated revenues reached CZK 41.0 billion (€1.6bn, $2.1bn). Revenues from passenger transport amounted to CZK 18.7 billion (65% transfer payments from the government, 25% intra-state transport, 10% international transport), revenues from freight transport operated by subsidiary ČD Cargo amounted to CZK 11.8 billion, revenues from traffic control invoiced to state-owned railway infrastructure operator SŽDC amounted to CZK 5.2 billion. With thirty-eight thousand employees[1] ČD Group is the largest Czech company by the number of employees.
The company was established in 1993, after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia as a successor of the Czechoslovak State Railways. It is a member of the International Railway Union (UIC Country Code for Czech Republic is 54), Community of European Railways and the Organization for Railways Cooperation (Asia and Europe).
Until 1 July 2008, České dráhy was the biggest employer in the Czech Republic. After experiencing regular losses and requiring government subsidies, the railway reported its first ever profit in 2007 although it receives government subsidies. Attempts to make it more efficient are currently ongoing and a recent plan to move passenger transport to an independent subsidiary was approved by the Czech government in January 2008.
ČD operates trains; fixed infrastructure (such as tracks) is managed by SŽDC. In December 2010, the Czech government proposed bringing SŽDC and ČD together in a single holding company. The government has also changed the subsidies available to ČD and SŽDC.
ČD Cargo, the cargo subsidiary, mainly transports raw materials, intermediate goods and containers. As of 2009, it is ranked in the top five largest railway cargo operators in Europe.

(4k) Walking Tour - Prague (New Town), Czech Republic
The New Town is a quarter in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic.
New Town is the youngest and largest of the five independent (from the Middle Ages until 1784) towns that today comprise the historic center of modern Prague.
New Town was founded in 1348 by Charles IV just outside the city walls to the east and south of the Old Town and encompassed an area of 7.5 km²; about three times the size of the Old Town.
The population of Prague in 1378 was well over 40,000, perhaps as much as twice that, making it the 4th most populated city north of the Alps and, by area, the 3rd largest city in Europe.
Although New Town can trace its current layout to its construction in the 14th century, only few churches and administrative buildings from this time survive.
There are many secular and educational buildings in New Town, but also especially magnificent gothic and baroque churches. These nevertheless are not the main drawing points for tourists.
New Town's most famous landmark is Wenceslas Square, which was originally built as a horsemarket and now functions as a center of commerce and tourism.
In the 15th century, the Novoměstská radnice, or New Town Hall, was the site of the first of the three defenestrations of Prague.
