Sibiu. A city with narrow and multicolored streets, places steeped in history and very welcoming people. We are at the very heart of Romania, in Transylvania, in a multicultural area that has always impressed with its varied landscapes. It is no coincidence that the city of Sibiu is one of the best European tourist destinations.
Sibiu, a city with a medieval flavor and one of the most beautiful and cleanest in Romania. Above all, after the installation of a German on the chair of mayor of the city, things started to move in Sibiu; renovation works, an impeccable town centre, illuminated and enhanced facades, increasing number of tourists. Located in the heart of Romania and bathed by the Cibin River, the city of Sibiu charms the traveler with its air of a medieval town that invites you to explore in all seasons. With its air of yesteryear, Sibiu is a veritable open-air museum, with houses dating from 1380 which stand on the edge of the narrow streets, the stairs leading down to the lower town, the imposing Evangelical church whose construction lasted two centuries, at the Grande and Petite Place surrounded by centuries-old buildings.
The German rigor and the Latin spirit, alert, playful, have created in Sibiu an original and picturesque way of life. But Sibiu is also a true cultural center of Romania. It was here that the Transylvanian Association for Romanian Literature and Culture was created in 1861, which took charge of the creation of the Library. An important cultural role also fell to the publication “Tribuna”, initially directed by the great Romanian writer Ioan Slavici.
When we say Sibiu, we also say the Brukenthal Museum, inaugurated in 1817. Directed by Baron Samuel von Brukenthal, the museum today contains not only a remarkable art gallery, but also collections of archaeology, d history, ethnography and natural sciences.
An integral part of the Brukenthal Museum, the History Museum operates in a representative building for Romania and for Transylvania, as it is a large secular Gothic monument. From 1850 to 1948, this building housed the town hall of Sibiu. We changed the decorations to highlight the importance of the time, but, after the revolution of December ’89, we decided to modify the structures. Baron Brukenthal was an enlightened spirit of the Age of Enlightenment and he began to collect all kinds of art objects and paintings from his youth. Part of the collections belong to him. In the meantime, they have been enriched with a number of archaeological objects.
Let’s now head to Dumbrava Sibiului – the Glade of Sibiu, where the Museum of Traditional Civilization of Romania has been created, which houses all kinds of tools and equipment specific to the workshops of the master craftsmen of the region. If you are more of a fan of natural beauty, follow us to the National History Museum which houses a rich collection of zoology and botany.
So, dear friends, as you can see, Sibiu is home to many treasures. It's up to you to come and discover them. Frankly, it's worth it, you have everything: museums, atmosphere, buildings, parks and let's not forget the mountain station of Paltinis, about thirty km away, absolutely fantastic which offers breathtaking panoramas.

To Râpa Roșie with our Transalp 650 - S1. Eps.24
On the third day we went to Râpa Roșie with our Transalp 650, S.1 Eps.24 - Alba Iulia / Sibiu
The awakening was at 8:00 AM. After having breakfast at the Hanul cu Berze restaurant, near Pensiunea Margareta... we left to Sebeș. Approximately 6-7 km from Sebeș is the Red Rape (Râpa Roșie) which includes specific formations of erosion and runoff that give the landscape an imposing appearance.
Then we went to Sibiu, directly to 5 To Go, where I took some video shots to make a nice promo video.
Immediately after I finished there, we went to the Simar Pension. Here we were again received with great pleasure by the hosts, very nice people.
After 19:00 o'clock we went for a walk in Sibiu to eat and visit.
The next day we go directly home to Arad.

Pensiunea Simar - Sibiu
Începând cu luna august a anului 2017 Pensiunea Simar vă pune la dispoziție 20 de locuri de cazare în 10 camere confortabile și elegante dotate cu bai moderne, duș și uscător de păr, televizoare LCD, aer condiționat. Cazarea se poate realiza atât în regim hotelier cât și în regim aparthotel.
În fiecare dimineață vă așteptăm cu un bufet care cuprinde: ceai, cafea, croissant și fructe din partea casei.
Pensiunea deține o bucătărie complet utilată pe care o pune la dispoziția clienților împreună cu un expressor de cafea, mașină de spălat vase, mașină de spălat rufe și o mașină de uscat rufe.
Pensiunea facilitează accesul clienților gratuit la internet de mare viteză atât prin prize de cablu pozate în fiecare cameră cât și prin WiFi (în întreaga proprietate) și la o parcare păzită video 24/24. Tot în apropiere de pensiune la 150 de metri distanță se află un parc de joaca pentru copii, magazine alimentare, farmacii, cabinete medicale și bănci comerciale cu ATM.

How to spend half a day in Sibiu? Wake up early, explore the old town. You will find the big and the small square, divided by the clock tower (Turnul Sfatului).
Grab brunch at Charlie's (they serve lovely coffee and the staff is friendly) and then climb up the tower to admire Sibiu from above.
The entry fee for the tower is 2 lei (~50 euro cents) and it is open daily between 10:00 - 20:00.

Romania has been one of the most pleasantly surprising places we have visited in Europe. The people, the culture, the food and the sites are all truly beautiful. Sibiu is filled with amazing buildings, town squares and food that is unforgettable. Add this city to your must visit list!
Hello and welcome to my latest vlog where I take you on a journey through one of the most charming towns in Romania, Brasov.
Firstly, let me tell you about the beauty of the town square. The town square of Brasov is an absolute gem. It's a perfect blend of medieval and modern architecture. The colorful buildings around the square are simply breathtaking. The Gothic-style Black Church is also located in the square and is a must-visit. The square is always buzzing with activity and is the perfect place to sit down and soak up the local culture.
Now, let me tell you about the highlight of my trip - taking the cable car up to the Brasov sign for a great view of the city. It was a thrilling experience, and the view from the top was absolutely stunning. You can see the entire city and beyond from up there. It's a perfect spot for taking pictures and making memories.
After all the sightseeing, I recommend indulging in some delicious Romanian food. The local cuisine is a mix of flavors and textures that will leave you wanting more. I particularly enjoyed the Sarmale, which is a traditional dish made of cabbage leaves stuffed with a mix of ground meat and rice.
One of the most impressive features of Brasov is the town's fortifications. The town's medieval walls and towers have been beautifully preserved and offer a glimpse into the town's rich history. Walking along the walls, you can see the picturesque old town and admire the views of the surrounding mountains. The walls also offer a chance to learn more about the town's past and the important role it played in the region's history.
If you're a fan of spooky tales, you may want to consider taking a quick trip to Bran Castle. This castle is famously associated with the legend of Dracula and is located just a short distance from Brasov. The castle itself is stunning, with its Gothic architecture and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Visitors can explore the castle's rooms and learn more about the history of the region. The nearby village of Bran is also worth a visit, with its traditional architecture and charming atmosphere.
After all the sightseeing, I recommend indulging in some delicious Romanian food. The local cuisine is a mix of flavors and textures that will leave you wanting more. From the town square and Black Church to the fortifications and nearby Bran Castle, there is so much to see and do in Brasov. And with delicious food around every corner, it's a destination that will satisfy both your appetite and your sense of adventure.

I am back with another video!!
I went on another discovering Romania trip to Sibiu !!! So Exciting !!! We went for a 3 days trip and managed to check out some of the villages around it as well. It was super fun !!
It was really crowded though, if you are planning to visit Sibiu and want to take clear pictures without cutting peoples head in it Lol , better go during non festive months. However we wanted to specially go there during their Christmas fair and market. Its a totally different vibe !!
On the first day we walked around in the city centre and met some of Alex's friends from Malaysia.
The next day we drove 45 mins outside city to Castelul de Lut Valea Zânelor ( the fairy houses ) again it was really busy and crowded at this time of the year ! It was also during public holiday !
Then we went a nearby village called Cisnădioara to visit fortified church on top of mountain ! The view on top was breath taking !
Also we stayed at this amazing Airbnb place. It was near the city centre, clean, spacious and absolutely perfect for couples.

Town centre is looking nice with a lot of places to be visited. Therefore, we can strongly recommend this town for being visited!
