This video is about a place called Sipalay. A city in Negros Occidental, Philippines. A simple paradise if you just want to relax and unwind. The place is very unique because they have hills like Bohol's Chocolate Hills but beside the bodies of water (sea and river). Moreover, they have beautiful beaches, although not as white (sand) as Palawan, but the quality is very nice. In addition, the rates here are more affordable than many other famous destinations in the Philippines.

I had a wonderful morning in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental spending a few hours in the public market. I met fantastic people, drank some excellent native coffee, and got to experience market life in and around the market. It was a good visit.

Ultimate Beach Paradise in Negros Occidental: How To Get There and Budget Guide 2023

Lakawon Island is an emerging summer destination in Cadiz, Negros Occidental that prides on its powdery white sand and pristine blue waters. You can also find the largest floating bar in Asia there! If you're looking for a summer destination or a beach paradise within Western Visayas aside from Boracay, I could definitely recommend this place! :) It's relatively cheaper than Boracay, too! ;)

Today we show you our first impressions of Sipalay. We visited lots of beaches and were amazed by the beautiful scenery surrounding us. Its a similar landscape to el nido and coron. Our first impression of Sipalay was its absolutely BEAUTIFUL & had such a peaceful vibe. We were shocked that it looked so much like palawan, yet its such an affordable spot in the Philippines.

--HOW TO GET TO SIPALAY--

Take the direct bus from Bacolod (about 5 hours) to Sipalay town. Or a minivan (p350). Minivan is a bit faster than the big bus, but since it might take a longer time to leave and you’re more cramped inside, I am not sure what the best option would be. I like the big bus better ;)

From Dumaguete: take a bus to Bayawan, Hinoba-an. It will cost you 6 to 7 hours. It will cost you just over 200 pesos with public transport (p120 + p75 + p35). If you hire a van it would be 5000 in total, which is not worth it if you are a solo traveler like me ;)
If you stay in Dauin, no need to go to the busstop in town. It’ll pass by the resort. Unless you want to be certain to be seated ;)

And it might seem complicated (as a foreigner) to go from bus to bus, but people are very helpful along the way and if you leave one bus, the next one will be already there! No worries. It’s just a day you lose on traveling. But it’s worth it ;)

--WHAT TO SEE IN SIPALAY--

I did two tours.

► One was to Danjugan island (next video).

► The other tour was a tour to the highlights of the main land.
p1000 for half a day or p1500 for a day trip. It’s a trycicle trip, so again, make friends and you’ll split the costs.
You need to pay entrance fees along the way (from 30 pesos to 80 pesos according to the place) and lunch is not included.
What I saw was 2 resorts (including perth resort, with the infinity pool) – the cave which is really cool! (100 pesos for the guide with light, I gave him 150 since it was quite a hike).

I believe you can also get into a kano, more island hopping, archery…. There is a whole lot more to explore but I’ll leave that to you!

--WHERE TO SLEEP IN SIPALAY--

I would highly recommend Takatuka Lodge! Love the place! Inspired on Pippi Longstocking’s tale, with a lot of weird rooms all over the place. Different themes like the cave room, superstar, rockadilly, a castle… you name it ;) It’s seriously the best hotel I’ve been in in the Philippines (and I have been to a lot I love ;) – It’s so funky and unique, the owners and staff are friendly and helpful, the food is great, they attract friendly guests, the beach is just there. AMAZING! Seriously. Go here. GO! What are you waiting for? ;)

--WHERE TO EAT IN SIPALAY--

Because I stayed on Sugar Beach, there’s not much options to get out for dinner. You can’t just leave and get back after dark  I stayed at Takatuka mainly for food, and it’s good! Not cheap but a whole lot of variety, and great healthy stuff.

Best Tips Going to Sipalay Neg Occ

1. This advice is good for barkada or at least 5-10 pax for a trip. Round trip eto and if you’re looking for ways to enjoy with a tight budget, don’t miss this video.
2. Pede ka magcommute but mas convenient if you get a Van for hire for two days eto ha? If 1 day ok lang. Cheapest in town. 3500/ day with driver, good for 8-10 people including the driver. Gas up! Depending on your drop points, we had to gas up 3600 (78/liter pa to nung time na to ????) Look for Mang June +63 995 647 3953 or Eena
3. Lunch time is the best time to visit Fish Tank Restaurant kasi they offer the best food, view and customer service sa whole trip namin. (4minutes away from Tinagong Dagat) 10 minutes away from Proper Sipalay
4. Settle muna mga gamit nyo tas tsaka na kayo magdrop to Tinagong Dagat
5. Perth Paradise Resort is 80 Pesos each for walkin lang if maliligo 100 pesos tapos they have rooms for you as well and a cottage if pang matagalan kayo doon. Best time to visit for picture taking is early morning or late in the afternoon why? Sayang rejuv sist! ✌️ No joke medyo mainit kasi sya if after those hours or before hours mentioned above. Tip lang eto ha? Buhay nyo yan.
6. Don’t miss the sunset view right at the heart of Sipalay City during 5:30-6pm promise indi ka gid ma sad! ???? This is there you can have your dinner while enjoying love bands and/or the sunset view
7. If pauwi na galing proper, wag kalimutan dumaan sa 7/11 ???? beke leng me nakalimutan
8. Room for 6-8 persons with the best view during day time is 2300 only Tinagong Dagat Beach Resort. If walk in lang kayo dito 30 pesos only to enjoy the instagramabble view! You got a lot of options for your night stay here in Sipalay, my best advice is choose those that are near the proper for your convenience lang nemen. Corkage for drinks, they have a resto for your food and you have access to their pool already. (Night swimming is the best here)
9. Island hopping will cost you 2000 pesos thats already for 3 spots ( will be discussed below ) and if you want to just join the others, they have that option naman just ask the locals. More likely ranging from 300-500 sya. That’s the best part if you take Tinagong Dagat kasi they will take care of it for you.
10. For Island hopping you will have to pay 50 pesos each for environmental fee but ( pede po humingi ng tawad ha be kind lang ) The whole trip is for 3 hours and sa iba 2 hours lang???? First stop ???? Maasin Cave if you watch the video, you’ll see how beautiful it is and why it is called Maasin Cave. Second stop ???? Marine Sanctuary is where you will be amazed with the fishes around ???????????? di namin natanong pede mamingwit but they are letting you rent the gears for 150 pesos ( pede nyo na yan eshare ???? ) if di kayo maayadong maarte. Third route ???? is the tour for the different Islands around Maasin Cave. Been to Boracay and no joke mas bet ko tong Island hopp nato. Mesmerized ako sa beauty ng place!
