If you're looking for some top things to do in Heidelberg, Germany join us for our travel guide as we cover top attractions in the city. Today we’re showing you around this charming and historic university town situated in southwestern Germany. This was the final stop of our trip across Germany and while we only had 3 days here, we still managed to cover a lot of the main attractions in the old town.
In this video, we’ll be touring the ruins of Heidelberg Castle and exploring some of its gems which include an enormous wine barrel and the apothecary museum. We’ll wander through Heidelberg University, which happens to be the oldest university in all of Germany, and at one point had an infamous student jail. Plus, we’ll hike the Philosopher’s Way for epic sunset views, we’ll stroll along the banks of the Neckar River, and we’ll enjoy some hearty German and international dishes along the way because you already know how much we love food.

Schwetzingen is a German town in northwest Baden-Württemberg, around 10 km (6.2 mi) southwest of Heidelberg and 15 km (9.3 mi) southeast of Mannheim. Schwetzingen is one of the five biggest cities of the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis district and a medium-sized centre between Heidelberg and Mannheim.
The city is most famous for Schwetzingen Palace and the Schlosstheater. The palace grounds also feature a mosque, the oldest in Germany. Although not functional, it was used by Muslim prisoners in the Franco-Prussian War.

Wir beginnen unseren Rundgang durch Schwetzingen (Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden-Württemberg) am Schlossplatz. Nach einem Blick zur barocken Schlossanlage mit Park und dem Spargeldenkmal schauen wir uns das Rathaus sowie die Kirche St. Pankratius an. Danach besichtigen wir u.a. die Evangelische Stadtkirche, die Fussgängerzone sowie die im Bauhaus-Stil errichtete Welde-Brauerei. Am Theater am Puls endet unser Rundgang durch Schwetzingen.

I had so many videos from that trip and I wanted to combine them in one video so that this memory is out there forever. I wanted to share this experience with you to give you some ideas on where to go or what to do if you get the chance to visit Germany. For this two week trip, we stayed in Heidelberg so we mostly explored that area and its nearby cities. Part 1 is about the things we did in Heidelberg and Schwetzingen. It is situated in Schwetzingen, this city famous for Schwetzingen Castle and Schwetzingen Castle garden. We have visited this nice place. Due to the corona pandemic, the Schwetzingen castle was closed and didn't get enough chances to take video footage from inside the palace.
