Kruibeke 'Met de waterbus naar Antwerpen' 2020
Centrum van Bazel
Bazel is een dorp in België. Het is sinds 1977 deelgemeente van de fusiegemeente Kruibeke, in het oosten van het Waasland. Op 1 januari 2008 had Bazel 5242 inwoners.
Er is ook een park waar je het kasteel Wissekerke aantreft.

Expo De Pékin à Hankou: une aventure belge en Chine à Train World
Du 7 mai au 10 octobre 2021, voyagez de Train World à Pékin et découvrez une incroyable aventure belge en Chine.
Cette expo vous fera vivre l'histoire méconnue mais néanmoins incroyable de la construction par les Belges, au début du XXe siècle, de la ligne Pékin-Hankou, la plus grande ligne de chemins de fer de Chine, reliant le nord au sud du pays.
Pendant sept ans, quelque 50.000 personnes ont travaillé à ce chantier pharaonique. Cette aventure hors normes est le fruit d’une collaboration entre ingénieurs, techniciens, ouvriers mais aussi diplomates et financiers occidentaux et chinois. A leur tête, Jean Jadot, un jeune ingénieur belge alors âgé de 37 ans, coordonna et mena à bien ce projet colossal.
Outre cette aventure historique, l’exposition présente également le développement impressionnant des chemins de fer en Chine aujourd’hui, à travers son réseau à grande vitesse.
Des œuvres originales en lien avec la construction de la ligne Pékin – Hankou réalisées à quatre mains par les artistes Li Kunwu (Chine) et François Schuiten (Belgique), apporteront une dimension artistique contemporaine à cette expo. D’autres œuvres de Li Kunwu, inspirées de l’univers ferroviaire chinois, viendront également enrichir cette exposition.
Au fil de votre visite, des histoires passionnantes vous seront racontées par les principaux protagonistes du projet, au travers de mannequins parlants. Leurs récits vous transporteront à cette époque et vous feront revivre cette incroyable épopée.

Today we visit the commune of Bazel, which is part of Kruibeke in the Belgian Province of East Flanders, to have a look at the 16th century Wissekerke Castle.

Welkom in Bazel, een dorp in de gemeente Kruibeke, in de Belgische provincie Oost-Vlaanderen. Gelegen in het Waasland waar de Schelde, Van den vos Reynaerde en een rijke geschiedenis de hoofdrol spelen. In deze YouTube film maken wij kennis met het kasteel Wissekerke, een grotendeels neogotische waterburcht met restanten uit de middeleeuwen en de 16de eeuw. In de interieurs treffen wij originele elementen uit de Empire, een Franse kunststroming en interieurstijl uit het begin van de 19e eeuw. Naast een fraai poortgebouw aan het Dorpsplein van Bazel is de 28 meter lange gietijzeren hangbrug in het park in Engelse landschapsstijl een uniek stuk industrieel erfgoed uit de jaren '20 van de 19de eeuw. Tijdens deze periode was deze elegante woning het bezit van de adellijke familie Vilain XIIII. Welcome in Bazel, a village in the municipality of Kruibeke, in the Belgian province of East Flanders. Localized in the Land van Waas where the Scheldt, Van den vos Reynaerde and a rich history are playing the leading role. In this YouTube film we meet the castle Wissekerke, a largely neo-Gothic moated castle with remnants from the Middle Ages and the 16th century. The interiors contain original elements from the Empire, an early-nineteenth-century design movement in architecture, furniture, other decorative arts, and the visual arts, representing the second phase of Neoclassicism. Besides a beautiful gatehouse located on the Dorpsplein of Bazel, the 28-metre-long cast-iron suspension bridge in the park is a unique piece of industrial heritage from the 1820s. During this periode the elegant residence was a property of the noble family Vilain XIIII. The Duiventoren 'pigeon tower', the farms and the surrounding nature with some monumental trees are also wonderful places to visit. I hope you enjoy this video.
