With international travel restricted, there is no stopping me from exploring the different corners of Ontario!

Hamilton is a port city in Ontario, about 1 hour 20 minutes by car from downtown Toronto. This city is known for its numerous waterfalls, beautiful waterfront and some historic landmarks.

Visiting Hamilton in Winter is quite an experience. It was my first time walking on a frozen bay and seeing a frozen waterfall. These experiences cannot be forgotten. Did you know Hamilton, Ontario, Canada has over 100 waterfalls in the area? In this video I'm sharing just 5 of the 100 possibilities to inspire some waterfall wanderlust in Hamilton, or wherever you are in the world.

Travel across the beautifully restored cobblestone bridge that crosses Spencer Creek, to the accessible Dobson-McKee lookout that offers stunning views of the gorge and vistas.

Little Davis Falls
(from:
Little Davis Creek is located downstream of Felker’s Falls but reaching it from Felker’s Falls is difficult. It is easier to take King St. East exit off the Red Hill Valley Parkway and follow King St. to Quigley Rd. Turn right onto Quigley Rd. and follow it to the end. Walk past the end of Quigley Rd. onto parkland, turn right and Little Davis Falls is there.

Albion Falls
(from:
Albion Falls is a stepped jewel, classified as a cascade as it ripples over the Niagara Escarpment. It is almost as wide (18 metres) as it is tall (19 metres). It is visible from two viewing platforms, but there is currently no access to the bottom. Rocks from around the falls were used in the construction of Hamilton’s famous Rock Garden, a National Historic Site at Hamilton’s Royal Botanical Gardens.

Smokey Hollow Waterfall
(from:
At 10 metres tall, this isn’t the area’s biggest waterfall, but this short and fast-flowing waterfall is surrounded by a great section of the Bruce Trail. It has a rugged footpath tracing its way up and down the ravine formed by Niagara Escarpment. Once used to power a local sawmill, the falls are now the centre of beautifully rehabilitated park land. A parking lot can be found just off Mill Street, not far from highway 5.

Dundas Peak & Tew Falls
(from:
Parking lot located at 581 Harvest Road, Dundas. Your two-hour hike experience will start at Tew Falls, which at 41 metres is just a few metres shorter than Niagara Falls.
