I have made it to the West African nation of Liberia (country 178) and I am shocked to see how much it reminds me of home!!! Everything from the country flag to the government system, sports culture, school curriculum, and even the yellow school buses are shockingly similar to the United States, and you will find out why in this video!

Paga - Beautiful Sunsets and Crocodiles
Paga is a small town in the Upper East Region of Ghana, located on the Ghana - Burkina Faso border.
The town is noted for its incredibly friendly crocodiles which live in 3 pools. 2 of them are mainly visited.
The crocodiles are held sacred by the locals and are actually believed to 'hold' the souls of their inhabitants. If a croc dies, someone in the town is expected to have died or soon afterwards.
Visitors usually make a donation of a chicken and the crocodiles are surmoned out of the pond by whistling. Pictures can then be taken with them.

While I constantly try to find the positives in every place I visit, there are a few nations that I just simply didn't enjoy.
The country of BRUNEI is one of them.
I went to Brunei back in 2014, three years before I made videos, but my negative experiences in the country have stuck in my mind ever since. That, combined with its absurd human rights laws such as stoning to death LGBT members, I felt like this video needed to be shared with the world.

Redwood National Forest: Perfect Weekend Trip
Last summer we spent the weekend in Redwood National Park. It was a quick trip that didn't require too much planning and ended up being one of our favorite adventures of the year. We picked up backcountry permits at the Thomas Kuchel Visitor center, then entered through the Redwood Creek trailhead just 4 miles away. After hiking 3 miles, we camped on the gravel bars by Redwood Creek. The next day we hiked to Tall Trees grove to explore some of the oldest redwoods in the world. We hiked back to camp, took a refreshing dip in the creek, and watched the bats swooping in to eat up all the flying critters. The next morning we packed up, hiked out, and drove to Fern Canyon. Walking through Fern Canyon felt like a fairytale, the ferns tower over you as you wander through a narrowing canyon path with a gurgling stream. On our way back home, we drove through the Avenue of the Giants - a beautiful stretch of road passing through massive first growth Redwoods. We also hit up Six Rivers brewery and had fantastic burgers and beer.
