Leblon Beach is one of the main beaches in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It's summer in Brazil and the beaches are getting busier.
It's summer in Brazil and the beaches are getting busier. Cariocas go to the beach to cool off and also enjoy leisure time with friends and family.
There is also a lot of practice of sports authentically created by cariocas, such as the Altinha which consists of a formation in a circle where players cannot drop the ball on the ground, but what is different is that the players make attacking moves that force making saves to keep the ball from falling. Along with that, there is always the intention of making aesthetic plays. Also, another sport created by cariocas is Frescobol, a kind of tennis game where the ball cannot fall and they are hit with some force. Unlike tennis, players are not opponents, they play together to keep the ball in the air for as long as possible. It's a good reflex game.

We both agreed that Rio de Janeiro is the most beautiful city we have ever been to: Rio is the perfect balance of scenic mountains, bustling city and party beach vibes. But unfortunately it doesn’t have the best reputation safety wise and the crime rate is amongst the highest in the world.

So in the couple of weeks before coming here, we were half excited and half scared. Is it safe here? Can we use our camera, drone or even phone without looking over our shoulder.

At the end of the year, the traditional fireworks display at Copacabana Beach attracts a crowd.
