Singapore is no longer the preferred destination for expats. According to the annual survey HBSC Expat, the Asian city was dethroned by Switzerland in 2019. The country is particularly popular for its quality of life and its political and economic stability, but it also ranks first in terms of income, with wages well above the world average. Singapore retains its valuable assets, starting with its school system considered excellent.
France is only in 17th place. Its cultural heritage particularly appeals to expatriates, few of whom settle in France in order to earn a better living. For those under 35, overall career opportunities play a decisive role in going to work abroad. Moving abroad would allow these young workers to increase their wages by 35% on average compared to their country of origin.
The HSBC bank ranking is based on the survey carried out among 18,059 expatriates around the world, in March and April 2019, by the YouGov polling institute. Only countries with at least 100 respondents are included in the final study, making a total of 33 states. Here are, according to the British financial institution, the 20 best destinations for expatriation, taking into consideration standard of living, career opportunities and family life:

After an unbiased analysis of the indices such as healthcare services, family values, education, and crime rate, we come up with the following 12 countries as the top best to live in the world.
Singapore
Singapore is contending with Denmark (also on this list) for a ranking among the best countries in the world, according to many works and publications. The UN recognises and highly commends Singapore for the country’s attention to healthcare delivery. The country has a lot of viable health programmes such that the residents are among the healthiest in the world. And this translates to a higher life expectancy than most countries on the same scale.
Germany
Germany is proud to be a literate country and that beats many countries of the world in education. This is not unconnected with the great attention the country gives to the education system. As at the last check, only 4% of Germans are illiterate. The majority of them receive higher education while many of them even have post-graduate qualifications. Their educational structure breeds a more civilised and organised society.
Ireland
Ireland makes this list due to safety considerations. If you follow the world and local news, you realise that Ireland is not common in the news for bad reasons. The country is not associated with criminal activities, either targeting individuals or the established order. Homicides, suicide bombings, armed robbery, fraud, cybercrime, drug-related crimes, and other organised pestering crimes are at an unprecedentedly low rate in this country. And the trend is not about to change.

Happiness – and the pursuit of it – can mean very different things to different people. This, inevitably, makes it tough to quantify and rank with any real authority.
While happiness is said to come from within, residents in several nations are perceived to experience it more widely than in other countries.
The happiness of citizens does not increase when their country’s overall wealth increases.
This year’s ranking criteria has also seen some changes. It focuses on happiness and the community.
European countries dominate a ranking of nations seen as the happiest in the 2019 Best Countries report.

The city-state of Singapore is officially the best country in the world to live and work in as an expat. Stability is a major concern while living away from home, especially when families are involved, and Singapore rates very high when it comes to safety on a political, economic, and personal level. Three quarters of expats feel like the country's economy will remain strong, four in five feel safer than they did at home, and 89 percent are confident about continued political stability. Sure, there are the numbers. But, what about the katong laksa, chili crab, and bak kut teh? Let's be real—the actual reason expats love Singapore so much lies within the culinary paradises of its hawker centers, right
New Zealand comes in as the runner-up, largely in part to its number one spot in the Experience section of the survey, which involved questions about the expat's quality of day-to-day life, how easily they've integrated into society, and the ease of finding accommodation and getting settled. In all those measurements, Middle-earth comes out on top, as respondents report an easygoing, friendly environment, with the added benefit that from mountaineering to kayaking, there's just so much to see and do. In fact, New Zealanders working abroad miss their country so much, that there's a hotline devoted to curing homesickness.
The only North American entry into the top 10—the U.S. sits way down at number 30—Canada is close to the top, with expats particularly praising the country's culture of tolerance (69 percent said that the country was more welcoming to people of different backgrounds than their own) and safety, with 66 percent saying they felt more secure in Canada than back home. In fact, living in Canada is so nice that 80 percent of expats report living there for longer than five years and three-quarters of them reporting that they own property there. The Czech Republic—or is it Czechia?—catapulted into the top five of HSBC's Expat Explorer results, up from 18th last year. Expats mostly cite the quality of education and other metrics related to family life as the reason why: When it comes to family life, the Czech Republic is second to only Sweden. But the central European country has the upper hand in other categories, especially when it comes to more intangible things like lifestyle and culture.Money can't buy you happiness, but if it's what you're looking for, Switzerland is a pretty good place to start. When it comes to economic indicators, it leads the pack. On average, expats in Switzerland earn a hefty $188,000 a year and more than half (56 percent) report being able to build long-term investments and savings faster than the global average. Considering Zurich is among the most expensive cities in the world, you'll need that extra cash for the long weekend trip to the Alps you've got planned.
