Moscow is territorially divided into 12 administrative districts, 125 districts, and 21 settlements. Moscow was founded by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky on Borovitsky Hill at the confluence of two rivers - the Moscow River and the Neglinnaya River. The favorable location made the city a relatively successful administrative unit.

In May 2018 I visited Moscow (Москва), the political centre of Russia. With 12 million inhabitants it is one of the biggest cities in the world. As the capital of the world's biggest country Moscow has lots of sights to offer such as the Saint Basil's Cathedral, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Seven Sisters skyscrapers, Ostankino Tower (europe's tallest building) and of course the famous red square next to the massive walls of the Kremlin. I was in Moscow during the victory day holiday to witness the tremendous victory day military parade on May 9th.
Moscow will be the host city for the football world cup final in 2018.

In this video, you are going to enter one of the most iconic places in the world, Red Square, and right beside the Kremlin.
The Red Square is a city square from which the major streets of Moscow radiate in all directions. Buildings surrounding the square include:
Lenin's Mausoleum;
the brightly-domed Saint Basil's Cathedral;
GUM department store;
Kazan Cathedral;
State Historical Museum;
Iberian Gate and Chapel;
The only sculptured monument on the square is a bronze statue of Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky, who helped to clear Moscow from the Polish invaders in 1612.
Kremlin means fortress in Slavic. The Moscow Kremlin is therefore not the only Kremlin in Russia. Nevertheless, it is the best-known kremlin. It housed first the residence of the tsars, then the seat of the Soviet government, and today the Russian government. Finally, what is behind its walls? There are Cathedrals and churches, Exhibitions and museums, the Palace of the Patriarch, and the state buildings which are not to be visited. Nonetheless, most of the Kremlin to see is located on the Cathedral Square.

The name of the place comes neither from the color of the surrounding red bricks nor from the link between this color and communism. A more accurate translation of its Russian name would be Belle Place: in ancient Russian krasny (красный / -ая) means both red and beautiful and should be understood in this latter sense here.
