TOTAL COST: $20.34!!

*If you visit Siem Reap, you must visit the ancient Angkor Wat. It's an incredibly well maintained temple site with massive, ornate, well- preserved temples and other buildings. Admission into Angkor Wat costs $20 for a day pass, so for my fellow $20 per day budget travelers, be sure to factor this one in to the cost of visiting Siem Reap!

YEAH, SO WHAT, we went over the budget... Just trying to celebrate our TENTH episode of 20 Dollar Traveling!

Traveling for $20 a Day: [SPECIAL 50 RMB/day EPISODE] Shanghai Rooftops - Ep 21

It costs a whopping 180 RMB ($26USD) to visit the famous Shanghai Financial Center lookout. But since we do everything for less than 20 bucks on this channel, we need to find other alternatives for breathtaking rooftop views of Shanghai.

With the help of my buddy Mark Harrison, we visit a few of the underground lookouts and bring you along for the experience. (We got busted by the authorities a few times, but we had a blast doing it!)

Since I live in Shanghai, I don't have nearly as many expenses as my usual videos, so we traveled around the city, ate Chinese street food, and took in the sights, all for only 50 RMB ($7.25)!!

*P.S. The price of the water bottle isn't 2 cents; that was a mistake. It's $0.29 USD.

Cambodian Street Food at RUSSIAN MARKET - Snacks and Seafood in Phnom, Penh, Cambodia!

T-shirts for sale here►

There are plenty of local markets for your to explore when you’re in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, but one of the relaxed markets, that quite small and friendly, is Tuol Tom Poung Market, also commonly known as Russian Market. The market is local, small, and manageable, and it’s a great place to get a taste of Phnom Penh and try some delicious local food.

It was a rainy afternoon on the day I went to Russian Market, and we first stopped outside the market to eat some crepe like snacks, filled with creme and coconut. It’s one of those Cambodian street food snacks that so much fun to watch being made. Price - 500 KHR ($0.12) per piece

Most of the street food stalls are open in the morning and for lunch, so I was there a little late, but there were still a few stalls open. We had some fried spring rolls and fresh summer rolls as well as an amazing green papaya, herb filled salad, which was delicious. The best thing was the salad, and the environment of eating at Russian Market is always fun as well. Total price - $6 USD total (you can use US$ in Cambodia).

Finally, one of the top reasons I wanted to eat at Russian Market was for the seafood restaurant at night, which sets up in the motorbike parking lot at about 6 pm each evening. We ordered a fish cooked in foil, clams, and oysters, all cooked over an extremely hot charcoal fire. The food was overall good, and I liked the atmosphere a lot. Total price for seafood - 39,000 KHR ($9.40).

When you’re in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Russian Market is a fantastic place to eat!

???????? Is Phnom Penh SAFE at NIGHT? Walking Tour Airport to City Center {Phnom Penh, CAMBODIA}

A Phnom Penh walking tour from the airport to the city center, surprisingly, was exhilarating. And, based on this experience, Phnom Penh is safe at night.

Phnom Penh airport to the city center is easy to travel....if public transportation is available. More challenging is to walk the 10 kilometers. After immediately receiving a Cambodia visa on arrival, transportation at Phnom Penh airport is limited after midnight with the only options being an expensive taxi or tuk-tuk ride.

Is Matt prepared to spend $15? No way, as a pleasant Cambodian night provides an immediate, boots-on-the-ground experience to walk through Phnom Pen in the late hours.

There is also a review of the Manor House, a fantastic Phnom Penh hostel.

Questions Answered:
- is Phnom Penh safe at night?
- how to get from airport to downtown in Phnom Penh?
- how close is Phnom Penh airport to the downtown?
- how are visas on arrival issued in Cambodia?
- what are Cambodian hostels like?

35 KM from Phnom Penh is Cambodia's Former Capital - Phnom Penh Day Trip

Oudong is the former capital of Cambodia. It's about 35 KM from Phnom Penh and it makes a great day trip. The town was the capital of Cambodia for 250 years. Phnom Oudong is the main attraction. It's a series of temples and stupas on a large hill with great views in every direction.
We rode our motorbike there, taking the back roads past traffic police and snail collectors. We also visited Srey Krup Leak Temple, which is an Angkor temple - one of the oldest in the area. Even though these attractions are just an hour and 20 minutes away from Phnom Penh, we decided to stay overnight in a relaxing hotel. Samathi Lake Resort offers a swimming pool and a beautiful pond with fishing. It's a great escape from the chaos that is Phnom Penh, despite being in the city.
This was a great adventure - perfect for daytrippers and staycationers.
