March 21, 2019. Short flight from Moroni, Grande Comore to Anjouan, Comoros with AB Aviation. The highlight of the trip was to find yilang-yilang tree that produces incredible aromatic flower the essential oil of it which used in French perfumes, famously Chanel. It smells damn good, and you can identify Chanel smell from it.

On the way from Tanzania to Madagascar we decided to make an overstop in the Comoros Archipelago and laid our anchor in Anjouan, a small green island. Maketse, a local guide shows us plantantions of vanilla, ylang ylang and cloves.

Comoros islands. Grande Comore. March 30, 2019. Southern part of the island Grande Comore.
Thank you Comoros and wish you the best of luck and hope not another coup. I wish you can get Mayotte back from France but most likely not. Now it is up to Mayotte if they really want to join your Union but with political instability in your country and over 20 coups since independence in 1975, I am doubt Mayotte wants to be part of the Union. But best of luck. And please, separate religion from the government. It does not do you well at all. Instead of progressing you are going backwards.

A holiday with a difference. Supposed to be a three island vacation, but as the islands only large aircraft went in for service, the only option was a ferry that only joined two of the islands. Poor infrastructure and hotels without water in the pools, etc
A Tourists Guide to Moroni, Comoros!
I fly into Moroni, the capital of the Comoros. Unlike the Seychelles, Maldives and Mauritius, this Indian Ocean nation sees very little tourism and is one of the poorest countries on Earth.
I stay in the lush surroundings of the Istandra Beach Hotel, but take a tour of the Island's sights, including the old capital, Iconi, a wander through the markets of Moroni, and stop by a beach to watch some fishermen out in the surf. A most memorable trip.

After long walk all over the vanilla and ylang ylang plantation we came to the small village Paje to learn about simple everyday life in the Comoros islands. We helped Maketses brother to replace a roof with some palm leaves. Tali tried traditional sandalwood beauty mask, which helps to protect the skin from the sun in East Africa. We visited a very famous tailor to dress up with a traditional marriage dress.

Mahalé, 1 an après la Catastrophe (Anjouan-Comores)
1 an après la catastrophe qui avait frappé Mahalé Anjouan aux Comores, Je me suis rendu sur place pour réaliser ce film qui montre un peu où en est la situation des habitants de cette localité qui n'est pas du tout en sécurité. Plusieurs familles ont été déplacées dans des villages avoisinantes pour êtres en sécurité. L'Etat ainsi que des ONG ont apporté leur soutient envers ces populations déplacées durant leur séjours en dehors de leur maison. Voici dans ce film, ces derniers ont regagné leur localité, avec des promesse non tenues de la part des gouvernants qui s'étaient engagés d'apporter un soutien surtout dans le domaine scolaire et rien n'a été fait, déclarent ces gens. Un film de Soilah Naouir Papamwegne.
