Storing a motorcycle in Costa Rica - Round the world on a motorcycle - Nicaragua & Costa Rica - Ep7

Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
In this episode;
I drive through Nicaragua, stopping in Esteli, Granada and San Juan del Sur. A way to short visit to such an amazing country. Should have planned for more time in Nicaragua over all. From Nicaragua i continued in to Costa Rica, going through the worst border crossing of the trip so far. Didn't do any exploring of Costa Rica this time as the plan was to park the bike long term. I was sick for the first week in Costa Rica and the only exploring i did was when i went back and forth from the hospital. I needed to make sure i didn't have Zika or tome other disease that i would carry with me back home.

The process of leaving the bike in Costa Rica is simple, i used this guide:

I store my bike at El Coco:
I recommend checking out iOverlander for lot's of good information.

The adventure bike;

Suzuki V-Strom 650xt 2018
GIVI Windscreen

SW-Motech trax panniers and crash-bars.

What Is Voluntourism? The Volunteer Check List!

Join the Budgeteers Crew here -
This is the BEST way to support us to make more series like this AND you get lots of cool perks! SUPPORT THIS CHANNEL AND BUY A T-SHIRT HERE -

To our Patreon supporters - don't worry :) we have found an amazing project to partner with and we have donated to them already and this will be shown to you in tomorrows episode.

This video is not part of series 2 but simply a support video to the next episode (Episode 7 - Nicaragua)

As travelers we believe we have a responsibility to be informed and to always travel as responsibly as possible. This video is a sum up of how I feel about a very controversial topic that we're not talking about, voluntourism.

Regardless of how you feel about it, remaining blissfully ignorant is not an option. It's time to start the conversation about voluntourism. It's time to ruffle a few feathers and stop walking on egg shells in an attempt to avoid feeling uncomfortable!

NOT ALL volunteer projects are bad however, it is important to do your research and carefully look into any project before getting involved. Always think critically and use your gut!

Love and responsible adventures to you all!! xx Lina

DISCLAIMERS
1. Wanting to volunteer and help others always comes from a good place. I know this.

2. THESE ARE NOT LINDSAY MC'S OPINIONS. I cannot speak on her behalf.

3. I am not an expert. I am simply drawing from my studies, my own independent research and my personal experiences.

4. I love Paddy and Thijs and this video is not meant to insult them, their work or their character in any way. I love my boys unspeakable amounts! ❤

Ever wondered what it's like to backpack the world?! Find out from the comfort of your own home...

In Episode number 2 the real backpacking scene begins on Central America's 'Gringo trail'. After arriving in Guatemala from Belize, our first destination is the stunning Flores, a small town situated on Lake Peten Itza.

From here we visit Tikal, one of the largest ancient Mayan cities, full of history and legend. From there we move on to the remote Lanquin and natural monument that is the idyllic Semuc Champey. Last but not least we check out the beautiful colonial town of Antigua.

Watch to find out more!

Backpacking Guatemala 2016

Backpacking Guatemala | SOLO FEMALE TRAVELER | Ep. 37 | Glamping in Free Cerveza Lake Atítlan

After climbing Volcano Acatenango we spent a couple days in beautiful Antigua, Guatemala and then headed to Lake Atítlan. Traveling in Guatemala is not always so easy however, and it it took us 7 HOURS to get from Antigua to the Lake... Finally we arrived at Santa Clara, a town in Lake Atítlan that is famous amongst backpackers with its Free Cerveza hostel. This legendary hostel is fun for a couple days but be aware - free cerveza might not be the only thing you might get from the hostel (read: a free hungover as well!).
