Sandy Cape has massive sand dunes that are always on the move and changing shape and size.

In this episode of my Fraser Island 4x4 camping trip. We leave Sandy Cape after camping for two nights and exploring some of the history about Fraser Island.

Spirit of Queensland Tilt Train Railbed - Australia's most modern overnight train Cairns to Brisbane
The wait is over!! Last year I travelled on the Spirit of Queensland (Diesel Tilt Train) Premium Economy Class from Townsville to Cairns, I thoroughly enjoyed my trip therefore I wanted to travel from Cairns all the way to Brisbane one day. However with unpredictable border restrictions and the train's popular demand, I had to reschedule this trip again and again!
On 10 September 2021, I finally boarded this train once more and experienced Railbed Sleeper from Cairns to Brisbane. Auf dem Weg entlang der Ostküste Australiens haben wir einen Tagesausflug auf die Insel ‘Fraser Island’ gemacht.???? Wir haben den unberührten Regenwald gesehen, waren in glasklarem Wasser schwimmen, besuchten das 1935 gestrandete Schiffswrack SS Maheno und wanderten durch den eiskalten, glasklaren Eli Creek.
Die Fahrt mit dem LKW Tourbus war ein einziges Abenteuer, wir fuhren durch tiefen Sand direkt am Strand und durch den unberührten Regenwald auf unbefestigten, schmalen Wegen.????????

Urlaub in Australien: Meine 19 besten Queensland Reisetipps
Urlaub in Australien zu machen, war schon immer mein großer Traum. Im Herbst 2017 und 2018 wurde der Traum wahr. Zwei Jahre in Folge war ich auf einer Recherchepressereise im Bundesstaat Queensland unterwegs.
Der Bundesstaat im Nordosten Australiens hat mich vor allem wegen seiner vielen Naturhighlights total begeistert. Denn dort habe ich zum ersten Mal Buckelwale gesehen, habe Koalas im Wildlife Hospital beobachtet, konnte Kängurus bei Sonnenaufgang am Strand bestaunen und begab mich auf die Suche nach Schnabeltieren im australischen Regenwald.
Queensland ist riesig, etwa fünfmal größer als Deutschland und die Heimat von mehreren Naturschutzgebieten, wie zum Beispiel dem Great Barrier Reef und Fraser Island.
Der australische Bundesstaat ist von zwei Klimazonen geprägt. Im tropischen Norden sind die Monate Juli bis September die angenehmste Reisezeit. Im subtropischen Süden kann man ganzjährig gut unterwegs sein, wobei es im deutschen Sommer im Juni und Juli mit 10 bis 20 Grad etwas frisch sein kann und im Januar und Februar sehr hohe Temperaturen um die 30 Grad zu erwarten sind.
In diesem Video will ich dir meine 19 Highlights aus Queensland zeigen und dir bestätigen wie genial ein Urlaub in Australien sein kann. Wir beginnen unsere Reise im Süden und arbeiten uns langsam in Richtung Norden.

Aerial footage and 4wding adventure of our visit to Queensland's stunning Fraser Island. During our four day stay we visited the Maheno Shipwreck, Eli Creek, Lake McKenzie and did the trip up to Sandy Cape through Ngkala Rocks. Our trip coincided with the kick off to the tailor season on Fraser and we ventured up the top of Indian Head and saw the hordes of fishermen trying their luck below.

My boyfriend and I were backpacking in Australia in 2015/ 2016. We started in Sydney! From there, we took a flight to Cairns and did the whole East Coast and also Melbourne, Alice Springs, Darwin,... Amazing times!
This video shows our trip to Fraser Island, a heritage-listed island located along the southern coast of Queensland and the largest sand island in the world!!
It was 50% recorded on a GoPro HD Hero4+ Black and 50% on a Canon 650D, edited in IMovie and GoProStudio on a MacBook Pro.
