Information on my drone flying :
● My drone is a Class C0 drone sub-250g type, because its such a lightweight drone (236g), I'm allowed to fly it over residential and commercial property and people (but not crowds) without permission.
● I passed the theory test and have both valid flyer ID and Operator ID's.
● I have drone insurance (£5 million public liability insurance cover).
● I strictly follow all the CAA guidelines on flying my drone.
● I always fly in Cinematic mode (slow speed) as this is safer in urban environments.
● I plan all of my flights in advance of taking off to ensure I know my complete flight path and am aware of any obstacles in the way.
● In order to maintain VLOS (visual line of sight) with my drone I use extremely bright Strobe lights, if there are trees or buildings in my way then I have to land and carry on from a different location this means that I often have to join bits of flights together, I try and line up edits using telemetry to match altitude and position etc. but its not always possible to get good joins in clips so this can mean jump cuts and fades between clips.
● I carry out a risk assessment before each flight and ensure all batteries fully charged, GPS has a good fix etc.
● I always engage with anyone nearby informing them the reason for my flight.

The Kepong Metropolitan Park, located at the Northern end of Jinjang, is famous among locals for the kite flying activities that are practiced at this public facility on a daily basis. The ideal place for kite enthusiasts, there is a huge field that runs parallel to the main road in the park that is specifically for this purpose. Most barriers and trees have been removed to ensure a clearance of at least 100m for the kites to take off.
Visitors to the park will see many experienced kite flyers here showing their skills in flying huge kites, some as big as 30 feet. Colourful kites with various sizes, shapes and designs can be seen up the sky during the windy days and especially on weekends. Buying a kite is not a problem as there are a few kite sellers that ply their trade outside the park.
This 96 hectares park is a vast area that consists of a 57 hectares lake where anglers will be glad to know that they are allowed to fish here.
Located well north of central KL, Kepong Metropolitan Park offers one of the longer off-road, straightforward jogging paths in the area. The 250 acre lake is a popular recreation area, notably for kite flying. The running highlight is the 3.8 km (2.4 mile) loop around the lake, on a dedicated surface. There are some other offshoot paths that allow for another km or two. Nice canopy and water views.
The first phase of this park was opened in the year 2001 and the second phase is now opened to the public with more amenities for the public to use.

If you are driving along the MRR2 towards Sungai Buluh, you will definitely see the many kites and throngs of people at this park especially during the weekends. Buying a kite is not a problem as there are a few kite sellers that ply their trade outside the park.

Take some time to jog along the rubberized jogging tracks that surround the park. However, be careful of motorcycles as some of them can be seen riding on the path at some parts of the field. Fishing is no longer allowed here even though there is a huge lake with many species of freshwater fish.
Other facilities at the park include a Remote Control car track, a cycling track, a football field, a boathouse and aquatic activities, a viewing tower, playground and pavilion.

How to get there
By Car
Drive along MRR2 Highway, Kepong Metropolitan Park is located next to Kepong exit on the MRR2 highway.
By Rail
There are two KTM stations located in Kepong, i.e. the Kepong station (KA06) and Kepong Sentral station (KA07).
Both stations operate on the Rawang-Seremban route.
By Bus
RapidKL, Metrobus and Selangor bus provides transport here.
