Black Forest:
The Black Forest is a large forested mountain range in southwest Germany, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, bounded by the Rhine valley to the west and south and close to the borders with France and Switzerland. It is the source of the Danube and Neckar rivers. Its highest peak is the Feldberg with an elevation of 1,493 meters above sea level. Roughly oblong in shape, with a length of 160 kilometers and breadth of up to 50 km, it has an area of about 6,009 km2. Historically, the area was known for forestry and the mining of ore deposits, but tourism has now become the primary industry, accounting for around 300,000 jobs.

Ortsdurchfahrt im Odenwald/HP: Gronau (Ost rein, West raus)
Gronau liegt etwa 5 km östlich von Bensheim im Meerbachtal. Die von Bensheim über Bensheim-Zell nach Gronau führende Kreisstraße K 58 endet hier, so dass der Ort von Durchgangsverkehr verschont ist. Gronau hat einen der schönsten Talabschlüsse des Odenwaldes.

Basel, Switzerland, a city nestled alongside the picturesque Rhine River, is a treasure trove of captivating sights. During my recent walking tour, I had the opportunity to discover the charm and beauty that define this remarkable destination.
One of the highlights was standing on the Middle Bridge, where the Rhine River stretched before me, offering a serene and beautiful view. Basel Minster, a majestic Gothic structure, commanded attention with its soaring spires and intricate details. Its presence was a testament to the city's
rich architectural heritage.
At Marktplatz, the city hall stood as a grand symbol of Basel's historical significance. Its ornate façade and meticulous craftsmanship made it an architectural masterpiece, reflecting the city's enduring legacy. Exploring the narrow streets of the old town was like stepping back in time. The well-preserved buildings and charming squares created an ambiance that evoked the spirit of medieval Europe.
The Tinguely Brunnen Fountain, a whimsical creation by Swiss artist Jean Tinguely, delighted with its playful sculptures and lively water displays. Passing through the Spaletor gate, a well preserved relic of the past, I marveled at the seamless integration of medieval architecture into the urban fabric. It stood as a reminder of Basel's historical roots and added a sense of timelessness to the city's character.
My journey through Basel was an unforgettable experience. The city's iconic landmarks, from the Middle Bridge and Basel Minster to the city hall and the Tinguely Brunnen Fountain, left an indelible mark on my memory.
