DEADLY TORNADOES in ARKANSAS - March 31, 2023
The Little Rock & Wynne Arkansas tornadoes on March 31, 2023. These tornadoes were moving roughly 50 mph leaving behind a wake of destruction.

LITTLE ROCK ARKANSAS TORNADO
On March 31 a Tornado Emergency was issued for Little Rock Arkansas
as an EF3 tornado was tearing through town at 50 mph. In its 34 mile long wake, At least 2,700 structures, houses, apartments, businesses and churches would be damaged or destroyed. With peak wind speeds estimated at 165 mph this long tracking tornado would cause 54 injuries and miraculously only 1 fatality was reported. However, this tornado outbreak was just beginning and another intense storm
was racing directly toward the town Wynne Arkansas.
WYNNE ARKANSAS TORNADO
Southeast of Wynne I observed a thin tornado with a high debris cloud for about 3 minutes before it appeared to dissipate. Then, I believe a second much larger tornado developed further north. Radar velocity appears to validate that these were indeed two separate tornadoes but I'm not 100% positive. The much larger tornado was heading directly toward the town center as I documented it while driving north on Highway 1.
This Tornado (currently rated at least EF3) would carved a path through Wynne (Cross County) around 445 pm CDT. Structures were obliterated, and at least four fatalities resulted. Farther downstream, the same tornado wreaked havoc (i.e. homes damaged or destroyed and trees uprooted or snapped) just west of Parkin (Cross County) and north of Earle (Crittenden County). South of Turrell (Crittenden County), The tornado eventually crossed the Mississippi River and dissipated near Burlison, TN after a 73 mile trek.

In 2023 there currently have been 1165 confirmed tornadoes in the United States (as of Nov 27). That's just under the annual average. For some storm chasers, 2023 was a great year, for others, very challenging and disappointing. Though I documented 20 tornadoes, I personally fall somewhere in between as I missed the majority of the spectacularly photogenic tornado events in Iowa, Nebraska and Colorado. The year was characterized by nontypical chase setups in fringe states like Mississippi, Arkansas and Illinois as well as several hard to forecast long range, upslope set ups in Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas had lower than average storm events it seems as the days of May Lee Low triple point set-ups rolling across the Plains were almost absent. Remarkable supercell structures were abundant across the entire alley.
REMARKABLE STORM EVENTS FEATURED:
On March 24, Powerful Tornadoes impacted MS, AL and TN at night. Morning light revealed catastrophic EF4 rated damage in Rolling Fork Mississippi
where 17 people lost their lives. Storm Chaser Brandon Clement documented the incredible damage with his drone. See his incredible video on his channel here...
3.31 ARKANSAS
Racing toward me at 50 mph was a killer EF3 In Arkansas. After ripping through Little Rock and Jacksonville, this tornado would injure 50 people
and miraculously only one fatality was reported. However, this outbreak was just beginning. another large, intense tornado was about to tear through Wynne Arkansas. In its wake of obliterated homes, the high end EF3 claimed the lives of 4 people.
4.04 ILLINOIS & IOWA
A fast moving tornadic supercell tracked from Missouri into Illinois. Several chasers were hit by a tornado with max EF3 rated damage. Luckily, the chasers would all survive. Because of the the high precipitation storm mode, extremely fast cell motion and difficult chasing terrain, I kept my distance. Over in Iowa, Scott Currens was documenting an incredibly photogenic tornado. See his footage here...
4.19 KANSAS
One storm in eastern Kansas would produce 8 tornadoes after sunset that would traverse mostly open country in the Flint Hills. Elsewhere near OKC, interacting supercells danced in a Fujiwhara effect producing numerous tornadoes.
5.12 NEBRASKA
A long tracking EF2 would track North near Lyons Nebraska where it was wrapped in heavy rain. a couple other EF2s would touch down during this outbreak including a photogenic tornado producer near Greeley and Spaulding Nebraska.
6.15 TEXAS & OKLAHOMA
The event of the day was a deadly EF3 tornado tearing through Perryton Texas, ending the lives of 3 people and injuring 100 others.
6.21 MATADOR TEXAS
On June 21, another extremely dangerous storm was tracking over a region with limited roads. While I was giving the storm a wide birth, Daniel Shaw managed to capture and report the intense rain-wrapped tornado prior to it striking Matador Texas. His reports directly resulted in locals seeking shelter. Unfortunately 4 deaths occurred. You can see Daniel's incredible account of this event here...
6.23 WYOMING
On June 23 in I finally scored some pretty tornadoes in Wyoming. The largest of the tornadoes would impact the outskirts of the small town Hawk Springs. No fatalities were reported. Chasing around the scenic bluffs and challenging road network, I managed to eek out a couple more tornadoes as the cyclic supercell moved into Nebraska. A damaging tornado would prompt a tornado emergency in Scott's Bluff and Gering as locals evacuated town. Fortunately no fatalities occurred.

Today we’re going on an ultimate food tour of the old French Quarter of New Orleans. We’ll be eating a lot of delicious and legendary food, and I’m going to share everything with you in this video now.

Cafe Du Monde French Market ( - Easily the most recognizable and iconic coffee shops in New Orleans, and probably the United States, Cafe Du Monde serves unique chicory coffee and beignet. Although seemingly always packed, it’s a great place to get your day started when you’re in the French Quarter.
Central Grocery and Deli ( Price - $22.60 - Next up we walked down the road to Central Grocery and Deli, home of the original muffuletta, a gigantic round sandwich with a variety of meats and cheeses, but most importantly an olive salad. The olives are what totally set it apart.
Coop's Place ( - Price - $29 - Unfortunately Coop’s Place is only over 21, and they don’t allow filming inside. So we took our rabbit sausage jambalaya and étouffée to go. Both dishes were delicious, especially the jambalaya!
Verti Marte ( - All That Jazz Po' boy - $14.68 - Next up on this ultimate food tour in New Orleans, we stopped at Verti Marte for a giant Po’boy that included just about everything you could possibly imagine. It was a heavy sandwich but totally worth it.
Galatoire's ( - Price - $40 - $60 per person - Next up for dinner, I made a reservation at Galatoire's, known to be one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. Although they didn’t invent Oysters Rockefeller, they make a great version of them, and for me that was one of the highlights. Also, don’t miss the flaming coffee to finish your meal!
Brennan's ( - Price - $22.04 - Finally completely unplanned, because we were right around the corner, we headed to Brennan's where they invented Bananas Foster! As Derek said, the best bananas foster he’s ever had.
And that wraps up this ultimate food tour in the New Orleans French Quarter. It was an amazing day exploring Creole and Cajun cuisine and culture in New Orleans!

Texas State Penitentiary at Huntsville or Huntsville Unit (HV), nicknamed Walls Unit, is a Texas state prison located in Huntsville, Texas, United States. The approximately 54.36-acre (22.00 ha) facility, near Downtown Huntsville, is operated by the Correctional Institutions Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), administered as within Region I.[1] The facility, the oldest Texas state prison, opened in 1849.[2]
The unit houses the execution chamber of the State of Texas. It is the most active execution chamber in the United States, with 573 (as of September 28, 2021)[3] executions since 1982, when the death penalty was reinstated in Texas (see Lists of people executed in Texas).[4]
The prison's first inmates arrived on October 2, 1849.[5] The unit was named after the County of Huntsville.[6] Robert Perkinson, the author of Texas Tough: The Rise of America’s Prison Empire, wrote that the unit was, within Texas, the first public work of any importance.[7]
Originally Huntsville Unit was only for white Texans; the only penalties available to black Texans were whipping and hanging. During the American Civil War, prisoners at Huntsville produced tents and uniforms for Confederate forces at the prison textile factory.[8] After the Civil War ended, Huntsville Unit was the only prison in the former Confederate States of America to remain.[5] Perkinson stated that the prison became, within the state, the first racially integrated public institution.[7]
Originally women in the Texas Prison System were housed in the Huntsville Unit.[9] Beginning in 1883 women were housed in the Johnson Farm, a privately owned cotton plantation near Huntsville.[10] During this time there was some concern that immoral practices may be resorted to in regards to the female prisoners.[11]
Historically the prison served as the administrative headquarters of the Texas Prison System and the Texas Department of Corrections;[12][13] the superintendent and the other executive officers worked in the prison, and all of the central offices of the system's departments and all of the permanent records were located in the prison.[12] In 1934 John Lomax and Alan Lomax recorded the earliest known recording of This Little Light of Mine when they recorded Jim Boyd of Jacksonville, Texas, singing at prison.[14][15]
In 1974, the prison was the site of an eleven-day siege, one of the longest hostage-taking sieges in United States history.[16] Three armed inmates (Fred Carrasco, Ignacio Cuevas, and Rudy Dominquez) held several hostages in the education department. The ring leader, Carrasco, had been a porter in the chapel. Cuevas usually worked in the inmate dining hall. Ten hostages were employees of the prison system: two were educators, and one was a guard. Later on, the prison chaplain would also become a hostage. Four prisoners were also held as hostages. On the final day, the inmates tried to escape using chalkboards and hostages as shields.[17][page needed][18] Dominquez was killed in the attempt. Carrasco killed Elizabeth Beseda, then shot himself. Julia Standley was also killed that day. Ignacio Cuevas was executed on May 23, 1991, for her murder.[19][20]

Six Flags Over Texas The Villains Are Coming FOX 4 Television Commercial
Six Flags Over Texas is a 212-acre (86 ha) theme park located in Arlington, Texas, east of Fort Worth and west of Dallas. It is the first amusement park in the Six Flags chain. The park opened on August 5, 1961, following just a year of construction and an initial investment of US$10 million by real estate developer Angus G. Wynne, Jr.
The park is managed by the Six Flags Entertainment Corp., which also owns 53.1% interest of the Texas Limited Partnership that owns the park. A similar arrangement exists with the partnership that owns Six Flags Over Georgia. Six Flags Over Texas Fund, Ltd, a private equity and asset management firm headed by Dallas businessman Jack Knox, purchased the park in 1969. Over the years the various companies that managed the park, exercised options to purchase an interest in the fund. Six Flags Entertainment has an option to purchase the remaining 46.9% in 2028. Starting in 1991, the park was managed by Time Warner Entertainment. In 1998, Time Warner sold its interests in the Six Flags parks to Premier Parks of Oklahoma City, which later changed its name to Six Flags Theme Parks, Inc.
Following a visit to Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, shortly after its opening, wealthy real estate developer Angus G. Wynne, Jr. decided that his home state of Texas should have a local park for entertainment. Planning for such a place began in 1959, under the leadership of Wynne and the Great Southwest Corporation, along with the backing of various New York City investors. Construction on the park began in August 1960.
The name Six Flags Over Texas refers to the flags of the six different nations that have governed Texas: Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the United States of America and the Confederate States of America. Wynne originally intended to name the park Texas Under Six Flags. Various legends have attributed the name change to his wife Joann; a group called The Daughters of The Texas Republic — of which his wife may, or may not, have been a member; or his entertainment director, Charles Meeker, stating that Texas isn’t 'under' anything. The original park was divided into six separate themed areas for each of the six governing entities that have ruled over Texas. Although additional themed areas have been added, the original six can still be found within the park.
KDFW, virtual channel 4 (UHF digital channel 35), is a Fox-owned-and-operated television station licensed to Dallas, Texas, United States and serving the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The station is owned by the Fox Television Stations subsidiary of Fox Corporation, as part of a duopoly with MyNetworkTV owned-and-operated station KDFI (channel 27, also licensed to Dallas). The two stations share studios on North Griffin Street (between Patterson and San Jacinto Streets) in downtown Dallas; KDFW's transmitter is located south of the junction of Belt Line and Mansfield Roads in Cedar Hill.
The Riddler Revenge is a Zamperla Giant Discovery Frisbee ride that pendulums riders at Six Flags Over Texas. It opened on May 28, 2016.
On September 3, 2015, Six Flags Over Texas announced that they would be adding three new flat rides to the Gotham City section. One of these rides would be the Riddler Revenge. The Riddler Revenge would be a Zamperla Giant Discovery, very similar to Black Widow at Kennywood.
On Catwoman Whip you’ll spin and tilt in a circular motion, building up speed as the ride whips you around. As your feet dangle you’ll be launched into a high-speed spin as the arm elevates you and spins you around a 68-foot loop. You’ll feel the sensation of flying as you whip around higher and higher.
Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, announces the next generation of sinister thrills with the opening of the first of its kind in the World— HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. Nestled next to THE JOKER in the GOTHAM CITY section of the park, this unpredictable and mesmerizing attraction is just as thrilling to watch as it will be to ride!
