Woodstock is a town in Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada on the Saint John River, 103 km upriver from Fredericton at the mouth of the Meduxnekeag River. It is near the Canada–United States border and Houlton, Maine and the intersection of Interstate 95 and the Trans-Canada Highway making it a transportation hub. It is also a service centre for the potato industry and for more than 26,000 people in the nearby communities of Hartland, Florenceville-Bristol, Centreville, Bath, Meductic, and Canterbury for shopping, employment and entertainment.
Woodstock was possibly named after Woodstock, Oxfordshire. The name is Old English in origin, meaning a clearing in the woods. New Brunswick historian William Francis Ganong believed the parish (and later town) was named in honour of Viscount Woodstock, a junior title of the Duke of Portland, Prime Minister of Great Britain when the Loyalists arrived in New Brunswick.
On 1 January 2023, Woodstock expanded in all directions, annexing all or part of six local service districts. Revised census figures have not been released.

Peeping the leaves in Vermont has been on Ashley’s bucket list for years! So, we finally made the road trip up to Vermont to see the incredible fall foliage that blankets the state each Fall.
While our visit in October was a little late for peak leaf peeping, we still got to enjoy some absolutely spectacular fall colors and leaves across Vermont.
We packed our weekend full of fall activities including eating Maple Creemees, exploring a working sugarbush farm and trying pure Vermont maple syrup, driving Route 100, visiting a local Vermont Farmers Market, enjoying Apple Cider Donuts, and more!
And, we discovered one of our new favorite towns in America - Woodstock, Vermont! It’s such a unique, charming town with beautiful nature, covered bridges, gorgeous architecture, delicious food, and one of our favorite coffee shops.
Vermont quickly became a travel favorite for us. The natural beauty of the state, combined with a unique culture, charming towns, and more than enough things to do in any season, are part of the reason you have to add Vermont to your USA must-see list!

Welcome to Oxford County and Woodstock. If you’re thinking of Woodstock, the Woodstock Music and Art Fair held August 15–18, 1969, featured loads of amazing musicians performing for 3 Days of Peace & Music. No, it’s not that Woodstock. The only similarity besides the name is that the Woodstock Music Festival took place on a dairy farm, and Woodstock, Ontario, is the “the Dairy Capital of Canada.”
However, when it comes to fun things to do in Woodstock, Ontario, the city holds several events to pay tribute to its bovine histories, such as the annual Dairy Capital Stampede, Cowapolooza, and Cheese Fest, and the Dairy Capital Run.
It is a perfect day or half-day trip from Stratford, Ontario and a great day trip destination from Toronto if you are incorporating shopping at the One-of-a-kind-Antique Mall, purchasing some quality cheese at Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese or picking your own fruits and veggies at Thames River Melons.
