a week in Poland: Warsaw, Szczecin, Wolin National Park, and more! ???????? (poland vlog 2022)

Follow me as I spend a week in Poland! I stay a day in Warsaw and visit the attractions of Warsaw, including the old town, the old town market place, the palace of culture and science, and more! My favorite street to walk through was definitely the Nowy Swiat, marked by beautiful churches, colorful building, and monuments.

After Warsaw, I headed to Szczecin and stayed there for about a day! I was not able to visit much, but in the video I show many of the places one should visit if he/she has more time!

I spent most of the week in the northern part of Poland, in Wolin National Park! It was near the Baltic Sea so it was beautiful! We stayed in small cabins in a camping spot! We also tried delicious Polish food during the week and exchanged cultures during my Erasmus+ project! If you are European/European resident, let me know if you are interested in participating in an Erasmus+ project!

I hope you enjoy this Poland vlog! I really liked Poland!! I hope you can use this video to find out what to do in a week in Poland or just to enjoy Poland’s beauty! Thanks for watching!

Uncovering the Best of Szczecin! Top 12 Places You Must See Before You Leave Poland!

The western port city of Szczecin (shcheh-cheen) is a bustling city teeming with students and a tangle of architecture inherited from dramatically diverse centuries, well off any road non-German tourists tread. German-era art-nouveau tenements and mansions that are in need of refurbishment evoke a former splendor, although the historical style is inconsistent. The government appears to have given up on the notion of rebuilding and instead decided to cover the holes in the city center with glass-and-steel malls, sacrificing entire streets in the cause of retail.

Although many of the major streets have been cleaned up, it is still simple to uncover abandoned structures and overgrown lots right in the middle of the city.

Although you wouldn't know it by roaming the city center, it's a bustling functioning port with just enough traffic to justify a layover between Berlin and Gdansk, to which it has decent connections.

Some Highlights on Szczecin:
1. Castle of the Pomeranian Dukes:
The most important Szczecin monument is this castle. This enormous, blocky structure towers over the Old Town, but its square center courtyard and subtle Renaissance-style decorations provide it a certain charm (spot the repeated circular pattern that resembles the Yin and Yang symbol). The castle was initially constructed in the middle of the 14th century and reached its current size by 1577. However, in 1944, Allied carpet bombing demolished the castle, which was then significantly reconstructed.

You can enter the castle-like museum (Muzeum Zamkowe), which houses six magnificent sarcophagi of the Pomeranian dukes as its main attractions. These huge tin boxes, which date from between 1606 and 1637, were created by Konigsberg artisans and include exquisite, engraved ornamentation.

Other castle halls host a variety of transient exhibitions and art displays. The courtyard hosts opera performances and concerts throughout the summer. In addition, the castle has a decent gift shop, a movie theater, and a café.

2. Museum of Technology & Transport
This excellent museum is located 2.5 km north of the city center and houses an amazing collection of cars, many of which are of Polish origin. A six-wheel amphibious vehicle from the 1970s, clumsy communist-era automobiles like the unavoidable Polski Fiat, motorcyclists made in Szczecin between the wars, and displays on the city's public transportation and Polish companies are among the highlights. Well worth the ride on trams 3 or 10.

3. Cathedral Basilica of St James
Explore Szczecin's 12th-century cathedral, which was partially destroyed by Red Army munitions in 1945 and rebuilt in 1972, by traveling downhill from the city center. You'll first notice the remodeling from the early 1970s, which has an oddly futuristic façade that seems more like a shuttered factory than a house of worship. If you're a foreigner, you can count on being singled out to pay the 8z entrance fee. Then, head to the nave, where a forest of red-brick columns gives perspective to a sterile interior.

35 Best Places in Poland

Poland is very easy to travel to, but despite this, the country in Eastern Europe is still far under the radar of many travelers. We think that’s a shame, of course, because the country is not only beautiful, but also offers many cool cities with fantastic sights.

In addition, Poland is now one of the most modern countries in Europe. Most people still have an outdated image in their mind about a round trip through Poland. But on the streets of the cities you probably won’t see tons of old Soviet cars.

The best way to get rid of such prejudices is, of course, to travel to the country yourself. That’s why we’re going to introduce you the 35 best places to visit in Poland. #poland #bestplaces

O NAS:

Witajcie! Witajcie! Na kanale podróżniczym Wędrownych Motyli. Jesteśmy Ania i Marcin.

Inspirować i uczyć. Łączyć ładne kadry z ciekawymi opowieściami. No i najważniejsze dla niektórych: Relaksować i inspirować.

To chyba tyle. Trudno nie przyznać, że bardzo nam zależy, by ten kanał się rozwijał. Dlatego każde dobre słowo i polecenie będzie mile widziane

First Impression of Poland? / What it's like? ???????? Berlin to Szczecin

In this video we will show you around some of the most beautiful spots we visited in Szczecin, Poland. It was an absolute treat!

We visited the beautiful Promenade which looks over Poland's second longest river, the Oder River. People were out enjoying the sun and spent some time fishing in the river.

We made our way down the Promenade and walked past the stunning Waly Chrobrigo. We were in awe of the stunning architecture everywhere we looked. It made us feel like we were in Paris! Whilst walking down the street, we saw this vibrant American restaurant called Colorado. We just HAD to go check it out, and i'm so glad we did!

We then went for supper at the Hay Market Square where we finally found a Polish restaurant! Hay Market Square is known for its beautiful architecture, colourful buildings and a variety of restaurants. We had Poland's traditional Pierogi (which is basically a dumpling), and a traditional Polish beer.

We fell in love with the vibrant streets, the beautiful buildings and the friendly people!

Wolin - Poland's Atlantis? and Viking stronghold...

Welcome to Wolin!
This now somewhat small town in Poland's Northwest corner is home to remarkable history! Possibly being the biggest city in Europe at some point...if it is truly the mythical city of Wineta...
For sure Vikings settled here and the city was a successful trade hub...and very old...so for sure there are mysteries to be solved...

Poland: The Town of Wolin

The town of Wolin is the eponymous place on the island of Wolin in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
The town, which is the seat of an urban and rural community, belongs to Powiat Kamieński.
In the later Middle Ages the place was called Julin, afterwards Wolin.

Wolin has a charming little town center and a small harbor.
Some tourist attractions
- the Nikolai Church, a late Gothic, heavily modified brick building with three naves and a baroque west tower built in 1705
- Red brick town hall from 1881
- Local history museum next to the neo-Gothic town hall with the excavation finds from 1934, 1952 and 2002
- The Wollin manor was built around 1800 for the von Below family.
During the reconstruction of the estate in the years around 2012, remains of the building of the former Cistercian monastery were found.
The vaults of the manor cellar are still the remains of the former castle.
- Open-air museum of the Wolin Slavic and Viking settlement on Plage Island
- Annual Viking Festival on Plage Island on the first weekend in August

The Port City of Szczecin in Poland | Stettin | Must Visit Places in Szczecin | Europe | Pomerania

#szczecin #poland #europe #travel

West Pomerania, Poland - Unravel Travel TV

Unravel Travel TV visits Poland's West Pomeranian region to check the beaches and main cities along this area of the Baltic Coast, taking in the history and attractions and spas along the way.

Szczecin is the capital city of the region. Its turbulent history included the reign of Gryfit Dukes, the Danish Suzerainty, Brandenburg Dukes, the Prussian and Swedish Reign, the stationing of Napoleon's Soldiers and the Russian Army, as well as endless wars between economic prosperity. The Pomeranian Dukes' Castle is one of the largest cultural centres in the area, which towers over the Oder River while nearby, along the Chrobry Embankment is a large terrace offering great views over the river.

Szczecin has a slice of fame status related to the The Great Escape, as depicted in the Hollywood movie. It was here that three prisoners hid as after their spectacular breakout from the Nazi camp before travelling to their freedom northwards.

There are a number of hotels including The Radisson Blu Hotel which is centrally located and offers an excellent Baltica Wellness & Spa facility.

Wolin is Poland's largest island on the Baltic Coast which is mostly covered by the Wolin National Park which protects the sea cliffs, plants and rare birds. Closer to the heart of the island lies the town of Wolin which every year hosts the Festival of Slavs and Vikings. Warriors from all Europe visit to test their skills in combat and to showcase their traditions and crafts which range from making bread and, crafts, to the construction of a viking settlement.

A visit to the Gerhard's Fort provides a fine example of one of the best preserved 19th Century seaside forts in this part of Europe. It was constructed by Prussian fortifiers and was one out of four basic defence structures forming part of the Maritime Fortress of Swinoujscie.

The 189-km long Baltic seaside is one of the attractions, ideal for sunbathing, water sports and walking. Swinoujscie is a popular destination and a renowned health resort as well as a key Polish port. Here there are cycling lanes on both the Polish and German parts of West Pomerania as well as nine marked walking tourist trails, a 300 step climb to the top of its lighthouse and a 44 island kayaking trail. Swinoujscie can be accessed by boat from Scandinavian destinations.

Kolobrzeg, a large seaside resort and health spa, is often termed the Pearl of the Baltic Sea. Situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea, at the mouth of the Parseta River, it offers wide sandy beaches and an historic park. The micro-climate, natural resources of peat and salt saline are used in health and beauty treatments by most of the hotels which attract tourists and health spa patients year round. Kolobreg's attractions include sea cruises, fishing trips, biking and walking along its designated paths and trails. The Aquarius Hotel & Spa has been tastefully designed and offers an Aqua center and nightclub and is one of many four and five star properties offering health spa facilities.
