Spectacle Island is a great place to visit near Boston. It is located in the Boston harbor Islands National and State Park, just a ferry cruise outside of the city in Boston Harbor. Once on Spectacle Island, you will see a great view of the city and surrounding Boston Harbor Islands. There are many things to do on the island from walking and exploring, to fishing and wading in the water. Spectacle Island would be a great destination for a picnic with a view of Boston!

Webb Park is a hidden gem (in my opinion). I only found it because of its relative proximity to World’s End, Hingham. Webb Park is closer to Boston and there are many views of the city! Dogs are welcome on a leash, and there is a pavilion for picnics, and benches along the paths.
Webb Memorial State Park, Weymouth:
Deer Island has Great views of Boston, boats, and ducks! You may know deer island for the egg shaped containers that are part of the Deer Island treatment plant that resides there. The walkway is paved the entire length. There is a 3 mile or so walking loop around the island.
Deer Island, Winthrop:
Worlds End is located on Martin Ln. in Hingham. It is a property of The Trustees of Reservations. There is a parking lot on Worlds End property, and parking is free for members of The Trustees of Reservations ($10 non-member vehicle), advance passes are sometimes encouraged or required as Worlds End Hingham is a popular place to visit and hike. Worlds End consists of 4.5 miles of trails that stretch out on the peninsula into Hingham Bay, Boston Harbor. World's end is a beautiful place to visit near Boston and is great for walking, running, photography, sightseeing, and more. Dogs are allowed as long as they are kept on a leash at all times.

On George's Island in the Boston harbor Islands, there are views of Boston and good views of Fort Warren. Fort Warren was built in 1847, and housed prisoners during the Civil War. George's Island is 53 acres of trails and fort. Access to George's Island can be obtained via the ferry service, Boston Harbor City Cruises. Georges Island is a great place for a walk or hike near Boston!
