How small are the smallest towns in one of the least populated states in America? Take this trip around The Sunflower State with me as I visit all of the top-10 smallest towns in Kansas (source 2019 US Census estimates). This is one of the most enjoyable trips I have taken! Even though these places are barely dots on a map, they all have a history to be told and hold a certain type of charm and beauty for people like me. Stone Mountain Park just outside Atlanta
Helen (the German town) where we've stayed at Yonah Mountain Campground and Cherokee RV Campground
FInally we wrap up with Providence Canyon State Park. No RV Camping here only backpacking style but Florence Marina State Park is only 7 miles away and it does have RV sites.

Welcome to Winfield, Kansas! Home of the Walnut Valley Festival. Most charming town in Kansas?

Winfield, Kansas is located in Cowley County, Kansas and is home to the Walnut Valley Festival. It is a charming town about 50 miles SE of Wichita. It is definitely worth a day or weekend trip from Wichita, Topeka or even Kansas City. It is a modern day Mayberry of a town.
There is plenty to do including a variety of unique restaurants, food trucks, parks, hiking trails or shopping. The town hosts a variety of fun events including Diversity Jam, Bass and BBQ, a bass fishing tournament hosted at Winfield City Lake, Elrod's Cirque, a self-supported gravel bike course through the Flint Hills, an old fashioned carnival, farmers markets, vintage car cruises, parades and music. We're visiting Salem, Massachusetts at Halloween! This historic town transforms at Halloween with decorations, costumes, and haunted tours and lots of other Halloween-themed activities. Everyone gets into the Halloween spirit. This charming town is, sadly, known for the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Nearly two hundred people were accused of witchcraft, which was then considered a crime. Twenty of those individuals were tried and executed, mostly by hanging. They were victims of fear, superstition, and a court system that failed to protect them. It's this tragic history that has made Salem a place known for witchcraft and haunted happenings.
