London Walk 2022 | Kilburn High Road to Willesden Lane West London | Unseen London [4K HDR]

Today we will be walking tour from Kilburn high road to Willesden Lane. Kilburn is a down-to-earth multicultural district centred on busy Kilburn High Road, which is lined with mainstream stores, traditional pubs, and chain burger bars. Chinese, African, and Caribbean eateries serve the local community. The Kiln Theatre presents original drama and has a cinema, while the Gothic Revival-style, 19th-century St. Augustine’s Church features a towering spire and an impressive vaulted ceiling.
Kilburn is an area of north west London, England, which spans the boundary of two London Boroughs: Camden to the east and Brent to the west. There is also an area in the London Borough of Westminster, known as West Kilburn and sometimes treated as a distinct locality. Kilburn High Road railway station lies 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north-west of Charing Cross.

Places to see in ( Bingley - UK )

Places to see in ( Bingley - UK )

Bingley is a market town in the metropolitan borough of the City of Bradford, in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Local travel links include Bingley railway station in the town centre and Leeds Bradford International Airport, which is located 10 miles (16 km) from the city centre. The B6265 (Main Street), connecting Bingley to Keighley, runs through the town centre. Historically a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, Bingley appears in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Bingheleia.

Bingley was probably founded about the time of the Saxons; certainly its name is Saxon in origin. Bingley was founded by a ford on the River Aire. This crossing gave access to Harden, Cullingworth and Wilsden on the south side of the river. The ford was superseded by Ireland Bridge. In medieval times Bingley was a manor which extended several miles up and down the Aire valley, extending upstream to Marley on the outskirts of Keighley and downstream to Cottingley. Bingley became a market town with the grant of a Market Charter in 1212 by King John.

According to the poll tax returns of 1379, Bingley had 130 households, probably around 500 people. The nearby towns of Bradford, Leeds and Halifax had about half this population. At this time Bingley was the largest town in the area. No records tell of how Bingley fared in the Black Death that swept Europe in the 14th century. Approximately one third of all the people in Europe died of this plague, sometimes wiping out whole towns and villages. According to the 1379 Poll tax records, the nearby town of Boulton had no survivors worth taxing. It seems Bingley may have got off relatively lightly.

Like many towns in the West Riding, Bingley prospered during the Industrial Revolution. The Bingley section of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal was completed in 1774, linking the town with Skipton, and Bradford via the Bradford Canal. The canal passes through the town centre and ascends the side of the valley via the Bingley Five Rise and Bingley Three Rise Locks.

The A650 trunk road passes through Bingley. Through traffic has been diverted onto the new dual carriageway avoiding the town centre. The road passes north-west to Keighley and south-east to Shipley and Bradford. Bingley is served by a number of bus services including the 619 between Bradford and Bingley, the 615 / 616 services between Bradford and Eldwick and the 622 / 623 services between Eldwick and Scholes operated by First West Yorkshire, the 662 between Bradford and Keighley, the 760 between Leeds and Keighley and the 727 / 729 services between Keighley and Cullingworth operated by Keighley Bus Company.

( Bingley - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Bingley . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Bingley - UK

HARDEN: Bradford Parish #1 of 20

BRADFORD PARISH #1: HARDEN

Our first parish of Bradford is Harden, which lies 2 miles West of Bingley. Harden gives it name to Harden Moor, a vast swathe of open moorland to the North of the village

Harden’s history goes back to the Romans. There’s evidence of a Roman settlement in the area dating from around 150 AD. There is a small section of Roman Road on Harden Moor

Throughout the Roman and Saxon periods which followed there was probably a more or less permanent settlement on the site of Harden but little remains to be seen

In the Domesday Book Harden was recorded under the name of “Hateltone” or “Hatel-tun”. Between 1960 and 1997, Harden's biggest employer was Ellison Circlips

They occupied one of at least three mills in Harden. The other two were both situated alongside Harden Beck, the main watercourse in the area

The modern village is well served. It has a Post Office, a convenience store, a garden centre and an independent butcher's. There’s also a small park which hosts an annual gala during the summer

One of the most notable people to hail from the village is the celebrated cathedral organist Allan Wicks, who was born in the village in 1923

There’s lots to see and talk about in this one. Let’s go!

Bradfords Hidden Secret!!! Goit Stock Waterfall

Goit Stock Waterfall hidden waterfall In Yorkshire #moje_podroze_uk

03:36 Goit Stock Waterfall
05:41 Kaskada wody za wodospadem

This waterfall is considered West Yorkshire hidden waterfall why ??
It is located in a small forest between Bradford and Cullingworth in Harden Park, basically you can say that it is in the city - but that's too big a word.
To this wonderful waterfall we go along the road ........ but then check out the directions on :)
The waterfall in fact a waterfall + cascade (a bit further) create a great atmosphere of this place. I think it's worth coming here for a walk.

CHURCH BROUGHTON: South Derbyshire Parish #2 of 50

SOUTH DERBYSHIRE PARISH #2: CHURCH BROUGHTON

It was still raining in Derbyshire but my spirits were still high. Welcome to Church Broughton, which was originally simply as Broughton. Here we are around 14 miles to the west of Derby

This is a lovely little village laid out in a circular fashion, with plenty of cul de sacs radiating from its central loop. This village has links to the Dukes of Devonshire and possesses RAF history too

The earliest written document relating to this area is the Domesday Book. In this part of Derbyshire at that time, Barton and Scropton were the largest villages, both with churches.

Broughton was about half their size, but it had no mill or church. However that was soon to change and now the church forms part of the village’s name

Church Broughton was an important place during the civil war. It lay between the Royalist stronghold of Tutbury Castle and that of the Parliamentarians at Barton Blount.

A canonball was found some years ago in garden of the Vicarage here, but no-one knows if it had been used in the civil war. Cromwell House Farm though derives its name from those times

The modern village sports a school, a pub, a little park with a playground and plenty of historic buildings. To the Northwest is Sapperton, a hamlet with some equally majestic buildings

Another fun one in the rain, let's try dodging the spots folks!

Goit Stock Waterfall | A Hidden Gem

Howdy Doody and welcome back to the channel. In this episode we pay a visit to Goit Stock. This is a hidden Gem of a waterfall on the outskirts of Bradford, West Yorkshire. We take a walk through the woodland until we arrive at this almost tropical location. It may look peaceful but please be careful when visiting especially if you fancy a dip as recently a young boy lost his life here swimming beneath the falls.
And please visit responsibly.
