We recently took the afternoon and went exploring this area a bit. Initially we tried for the harder trail, but we almost got stuck on one of the rut and realized these harder ones are not good for 2wd. We went to the other side and did the Wildomar Loop trail and it was an easy loop with some rut and steep area. Good overall practice. Will definitely come back with some friends and try to go for the harder trail. Didn't want to get stuck in 100 degree heat.

This wine sanctuary is situated north of San Diego and 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles. They are the wine region of southern California on a 3,500-acre vineyard. Temecula Wine Country is still unknown to some people because it is relatively small compared to other wine regions.
It is like a hidden gem in California, but they make fantastic wines. And hundreds of them are even award-winning wines.
Some people would visit the region during harvest season to participate in grape-treading or grape stomping. They use human feet in crushing the grapes to release the juice and establish fermentation. The process is not the usual, but that is their traditional way of wine-making.
Most of the wineries in Temecula Valley have lodging and dining on-site, making it a perfect getaway for family and friends.

1 Rainbow Basin - This easy dirt trail can be driven by any car and it's 8 miles north of
Barstow in Mojave Dessert In San Bernardino County. Rainbow basin is a geological formation
in the Calico Peeks Range.
2 Bee Canyon - This trail is a 15.5 miles moderately trafficked out and back trail near Hemet CA
that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate.
3 Pisgah Lava Tube and Crater - This trail s a 1.4 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near
Newberry Springs, California that features a cave and is good for all skill levels.
4 Del Sur Ridge - This trail is a 7.1 miles lightly trafficked point to point trail located
near santa clarita CA that features beautiful wild flower and is rated as moderate.
5 Sugarpine Mountain - This trail is a 17.6 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located

Lake Elsinore is a hidden gem to see some history too. My own family had an apricot ranch there in the early 1910s so we are connected to this amazing place. The Ortega Highway is another wonderful way to bet here as well.

Wildomar OHV area in Cleveland National Forest, Riverside, near Lake Elsinore.
LAKE FULMOR | Idyllwild, CA
LAKE FULMOR
Almost 10 miles North of Idyllwild, this small artificial lake formed by earthen dam on Indian Creek in the San Jacinto Mountains of Riverside County. Located just off CA Highway 243, it sits at an elevation of 5,300 ft. It is 0.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail and a tranquil place to visit. Open for day-use, with many picnic tables available for the whole family to enjoy. Dogs are allowed as long as they are on leash.
A dam was built in 1947 to create a reservoir and collect water to use in the construction of the California Highway 243. It is named after A.C. Fulmor, the county surveyor who surveyed the road route in 1933-34.
You will need to display an Adventure Pass when parking at the designated parking lot across the lake. Fishing is allowed with valid CA fishing license, and the lake offers different species of fish including rainbow trout, largemouth bass and even blue gills. No swimming on the lake. Other attractions include different wildlife like butterflies, dragonflies, turtles, wild ducks and even crawfish. There are benches to sit and relax on including in the wooden pier. Restrooms are also available on both sides of the lake.
