A trip to the Breydel plant in Gavere to pick up a “Too Good To Go” package.
“Too Good To Go” is an online platform to reduce foodwaste.
Breydel is known for its pork meat related food items, especially its Breydel hams!

Wetteren : Provinciaal Domein Den Blakken en de Warandeduinen: een reportage van Catherine Boone
In de Belgische gemeente Wetteren, gelegen in de provincie Oost-Vlaanderen, hebben vriendin Tine de Jong en ik een bezoek gebracht aan het provinciaal domein Den Blakken waar een rijkdom van natuur zich bevindt. Tine was onderweg naar Dendermonde met de bus maar heeft mij uitgenodigd om dit onbekend natuurgebied van dichterbij te kijken. Naast diverse geuren en kleuren in de rozentuin, wilde planten en parkbomen maakten we ook kennis met het omliggende bosgebied en de Warandeduinen. Talrijke bijen, spinnen, vogels, vlinders, wespen tot zelfs vleermuizen hebben hier hun vaste stek gevonden. De inheemse berk en de zomereik bloeien en groeien. De eerste sporen van een nieuwe herfst waren al heel merkbaar: de aanwezigheid van bekende en minder bekende paddenstoelen en zwammen in het mysterieuze bos terwijl de Warandeduinen erg waardevolle en unieke rivierstuifduinen zijn. Als kers op de taart: bezoek ook de Villa Wetthra Den Blakken die zich aan de ingang van het domein bevindt.

Wetteren est une commune située au coeur de la province de Flandre-Orientale où je et ma copine Tine avons visité le Domaine provincial Den Blakken récemment. C'est un de ces espaces accueillants et séduisants qui s'offrent à tous ceux qui recherchent un peu de calme, de quiétude, de liberté et d'évasion. Nous avons fait connaissance avec des odeurs et des couleurs d'un jardin de roses, des plantes sauvages et des arbres remarquables. Entouré par une forêt, un milieu naturel riche et diversifié. Les premières traces de l'automne sont très reconnaissable: la présence des champignons et des fungi connus et moins connus. Nous avons vu des dunes, nommées les Warandeduinen, aussitôt.

De Gentse Feesten van 2023 is opnieuw een spectaculair evenement geworden, vol cultuur, entertainment en festiviteiten. Dit jaar is het al de 179e editie van het jaarlijkse festival dat plaatsvindt in de prachtige stad Gent, België. Het festival vindt plaats over een periode van tien dagen, van 14 juli tot 23 juli, waarbij het historische stadscentrum van Gent tot leven komt met een overvloed aan activiteiten. Een opvallend kenmerk van de Gentse Feesten is de 'de 10-daagse', een uitgebreid cultureel programma met optredens van nationale en internationale artiesten, waaronder muzikanten, acteurs, dansers en comedians. Podia zijn verspreid over de hele stad, zoals op de Korenmarkt, Sint-Baafsplein, en de Vrijdagmarkt, waar het publiek kan genieten van een breed scala aan optredens.
Naast de podiumkunsten biedt het festival ook een diversiteit aan andere activiteiten. The Gentse Feesten 2023 has once again become a spectacular event, full of culture, entertainment and festivities.
