The New Hampshire State House is the oldest state capitol in which both houses of the legislature meet in their original chambers.
We had a very good guide. She explained New Hampshire House is truly a “citizens legislature” with 400 members, it’s one of the most accessible in the country.
To be a New Hampshire Congress person, one must be a resident of New Hampshire for two years and be at least 18 years of age.
A conngress person receives just $100 per year as compensation! It’s not much, but then again, the low rate tends to keep career politicians out and minimizes the burden on taxpayers.
The New Hampshire Senate has been meeting since 1784. It consists of 24 members representing Senate districts based on population. Currently, there are 14 Republicans and 10 Democrats.
The Senate has to complete the work assigned on a particular day and must do so before the end of the day. If more time is needed, the clock in the room will be stopped at 12:00 AM and reset to regular time once the work completes.

Concord is a historic town located in Massachusetts, United States. It holds significant importance in American history due to its role in the American Revolutionary War and its association with famous literary figures. Here's an overview of Concord:
Historic Significance: Concord is often referred to as the Birthplace of the American Revolution. On April 19, 1775, the first shots of the Revolutionary War were fired in Concord during the Battle of Lexington and Concord. This event marked a turning point in the fight for American independence from British rule.
Literary Legacy: Concord is also renowned for its literary heritage. The town was home to several prominent 19th-century American writers and thinkers, including Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Louisa May Alcott.
