I've been a big fan of Route 66 ever since I did the whole trip in the fall of 2020. When I did that trip, I was very interested in this stretch of the road, but it was raining and I wasn't able to explore it thoroughly. This time I really took my time and found there were 11 ghost town type places within a short 34 mile stretch. That's pretty incredible if you think about it. They range from towns of around 100 people to hardly anything at all. Also included are some epic Route 66 stops like Spencer and Paris Springs Junction. This video should be interesting for anyone interested in Route 66 or Missouri history!

This Might Be the BEST Place to Live in All Of Missouri
The Greater St. Louis area actually has quite a few nice cities to call home if you know where to look. Wildwood is in far west St. Louis County, and I like to say that it's on the edge of both the Ozarks and the St. Louis Metro area. The biggest downside is that it's a far drive to get to a lot of the regions best amenities, but that's also why the residents like living in Wildwood as they are far away from all the drama.

Eureka, Missouri Is A NICE St. Louis Suburb
Eureka, Missouri is a St. Louis suburb with a small town feel. It's off of Old Route 66 along the Meramec River in extreme southwestern St. Louis County. Eureka has great schools, a low crime rate and is a great place for a family to settle down in. There are also 2 ghost towns right next to Eureka that I have made a separate video on.

Warrenton, Missouri is about an hour northwest of Downtown St. Louis along I-70. It's also an hour east from Columbia, Missouri. This city along with Warren County has experienced suburban like growth since the 1970's, and today it's one of the fastest growing areas in all of Missouri. Wentzville | Living St. Louis
Living St. Louis producer Jim Kirchherr profiles the Wentzville community as part of a special episode highlighting the distinct neighborhoods in St. Louis. The town is deeply rooted in tobacco farming. At one time, there were seven different tobacco plants in the Wentzville area. Due to its location and the construction of I-70, Wentzville has seen the population go from 7, 000 to nearly 30,000 in the past 10 years.

We get into the Western Suburbs, beginning in Wentzville, and then beginning a concurrency with I-64 and US Highway 40 at a junction with I-70. We pass through the cities of Lake St. Louis, O'Fallon, Weldon Spring, Chesterfield, Town and Country, and Frontenac. The Avenue of the Saints ends at Exit 28 A, and we exit here to head south on Lindbergh Boulevard. US-61 never actually makes it into the city limits of St. Louis.
