A Tour Around the Sanctuary City of Watsonville, California
Join me for a boots on the ground tour/adventure of one of my most cherished childhood towns, Watsonville, California. Watsonville is one of the few sanctuary cities in the state of California with a huge emphasis on agriculture. The production of produce that comes from this exact town feeds millions of people across the world.
Many European immigrants began calling Watsonville home in the 1900's as agricultural employment was always needed. Many Croatians and Italians in particular.
Watsonville has always consisted of a heavy Hispanic population and hopefully always will. It's a beautiful blend of Hispanic/European relationships where the two ethnicities came together as one and thrived for the American dream as a cohesive unit.
We can read through it's history all day but there's only one thing left to do, sit back and enjoy the video that I've created about this beloved/special city in Santa Cruz County.

COAST FUTURA: Electric street car exhibition from Watsonville to Harkins Slough
The future is here now in Santa Cruz County. I had the great pleasure of riding the Coast Futura electric street car from Watsonville Depot to Harkins Slough on October 17, 2021. The free exhibition will continue next weekend in Santa Cruz, from the Boardwalk to the Capitola Bluffs. Although all free tickets (donations welcome of course) have been reserved, there will be a wait list on site to fill any vacant seats. Although in the future these electric street cars can carry up to 100 passengers per car, due to covid only 34 seated passengers are permitted.
