Friedberg (Hessen)
Friedberg (Hesse) is a medium-sized town on the northern edge of the Rhine-Main area and the administrative seat of the Wetteraukreis. In the Middle Ages, the former Free Imperial City and Trade Fair City was one of the most important cities in today's Hesse. The rich past can still be seen today in the well-preserved cityscape. Well-known sights include the former imperial castle, the Gothic town church and the medieval mikveh (Judenbad).
Friedberg is located about 30 km north of Frankfurt am Main in the Wetterau. The city is located on the Usa River just before its confluence with the Wetter. The city church in the center of the city is located at an altitude of 159 meters above sea level. To the west, the Friedberg district extends into the Taunus up to the 518-metre-high Steinkopf.
Friedberg borders in the north on the community of Ober-Mörlen, the town of Bad Nauheim and the community of Wölfersheim, in the east on the town of Reichelsheim, the town of Florstadt and the town of Niddatal, in the south on the community of Wöllstadt and the town of Rosbach vor der Höhe, and in the west on the community of Wehrheim (Hochtaunuskreis).

I was on a recent trip to magnificent Germany a few weeks ago and I had an opportunity to stop by Giessen, Germany where I had lived for four years as a kid.
My time in Giessen on this trip was very short but I am very grateful for my time spent in the early evening and early morning in Giessen.

A Quick Trip to Friedberg, Germany
In this video I share some of the highlights of my quick trip to Friedberg, Germany.
Friedberg is a small town in Germany 25-kilometers away from Frankfurt am Main.
I visited Friedberg during the middle of August and it was surprisingly quiet. There were hardly any tourists around and my girlfriend that I had the town to ourselves to explore.
After an hour there wasn't much else to do in Friedberg so we continued on with the rest of our Central European and German road trip.

Gießen is a university in the Landkreis Giessen in Mittelhessen and with 90,131 inhabitants (31 December 2020) the largest city of Hesse and one of the State Statistics Offices of the Landes. As the seat of the Gießen district and the regional district, it is the Mittelhessens administrative center, a local traffic police station and a regional center.
Within a kilometer west of Wetzlar in the Lahn-Dill district, the city has an agglomeration room with about 200,000 inhabitants, in the vicinity of the region comes to approx. 275,000 entrants. In other directions, the city of Marburg (Landkreis Marburg-Biedenkopf) is located, Fulda (Landkreis Fulda) is located in the Vogelsbergs, Siegen (Kreis Siegen-Wittgenstein) in Southwestfalen, Friedberg (Hessen) and Bad Nauheim in Bad Limburg. Butzbach is a town in the Wetteraukreis district in Hessen, Germany. It is located approximately 16 km south of Gießen and 35 km north of Frankfurt am Main.

It's a railway viaduct, built in 1850 against the better judgement of the railway company, at the insistence of a local aristocrat. The 24 Halls of Friedberg still stand to this day, and nobody knows what to do with them. It probably doesn't help that some bureaucratic red tape means that it's legally supposed to be demolished... but can't legally be demolished.

A motorway in Germany has been close for hours after more than 30,000 beer bottles had landed on the road. The beer fell out of a truck whose tire was sealed on the side.
The police think a woman in a passenger car drove next to her job and hit the truck. As a consequence, the sail loosened and around 1,500 beer crates reached the highway between Florstadt and Wölfersheim, near Frankfurt.

Die Polizei glaubt, dass eine Frau in einem PKW neben ihrem Job fuhr und den Lastwagen traf. Infolgedessen lockerte sich das Segel und rund 1.500 Bierkisten erreichten die Autobahn zwischen Florstadt und Wölfersheim bei Frankfurt.Duitse autobahn met tienduizenden bierflesjes op de snelweg bij Florstadt ,1500 bierkratten
Een snelweg in Duitsland is urenlang dicht geweest nadat ruim 30.000 bierflesjes op het wegdek waren beland. Het bier viel uit een vrachtwagen waarvan het dekzeil aan de zijkant was opengescheurd.
De politie denkt dat een vrouw in een personenauto naast haar baan reed en de vrachtwagen raakte. Daardoor kwam het zeil los en kwamen zo'n 1500 bierkratten terecht op de snelweg tussen Florstadt en Wölfersheim, in de buurt van Frankfurt.
