Top 10 Places to Visit in China - Travel Documentary
China is one of the most fascinating travel destinations in the world, and in this video I will share with you my personal top 10 best places to visit.
From the ruins of the Great Wall to vibrant megacities. From surreal mountain landscapes to charming riverside villages. Today’s China is a beautiful, complicated, and captivating place.
I spent more than 18 months in China, spread over the course of a decade and a half. In the last years, I started filming the places that I traveled to, using regular cameras and drones. All footage in this travel documentary is shot by myself between 2010 and 2019.
Here's a brief overview of the places in this video.
We start this journey in the stunning riverside village of Fenghuang in central China. The wooden stilt houses are a spectacular sight, and the backstreets are still filled with old world charm. We then continue to Harbin, best known for its Winter tourism. Millions of people usually flock here to visit the amazing Ice and Snow Festival, to admire beautiful sculptures and palaces.
Yangshuo is another spot not to miss, mostly for its mesmerizing mountain landscape of limestone peaks. It’s a great place to witness life in the countryside, and has a relaxed vibe. After Yangshuo we travel to Beijing, the nation’s capital city. The impressive Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven Park are two main highlights. And the nearby Great Wall of China is truly a sight to behold.
Zhangjiajie is the next destination on my list, and one of China’s most beautiful national parks. It formed the inspiration for the popular movie Avatar. You can get an aerial perspective from the many walkways, and don't miss out on the Glass Bridge here, if you dare at least. I continue my journey to Lhasa, the spiritual heartland of Tibet, and a place that left a deep impression on me. Take into a account that foreign travelers can only visit Tibet as part of a group tour.
Shanghai is a unique city with a jaw-dropping modern skyline, but also has some impressive historic architecture. It’s a busy place to visit, but also has many laidback neighborhoods and quiet streets. Yuanyang, on the other hand, is quintessential rural China, with an epic landscape of rice terraces. It’s a good place to meet some of the minorities living in the South of the country, and eat some local food.
I continue my travels in Qingdao, one of China’s most scenic coastal cities, located on the Yellow Sea. Many Chinese tourists come here to enjoy the beach and eat fresh seafood, but I was particularly impressed by the historic German buildings. I finish this journey in Hong Kong, easily one of my favorite cities in the world, and a perfect fusion between East and West.

Привет! Я прожил в Риме 5 последних месяцев. Хочу поделиться с вами очевидными и не очень достопримечательностями Рима, которые люблю лично я.
Здесь будут и популярные, классические места, например: Колизей, Витториано, Древнеримский Форум, Испанская лестница, фонтан Треви итд. Так и места для местных (на сколько это возможно в таком популярном городе Италии), например район Трастевере – гастрономическая столица Рима по моему мнению.
Побывав в Риме 1 раз – ты уже не остаешься равнодушным к Вечному Городу. Последний раз я в нем был 10 лет и не было ни одного месяца, чтобы не вспоминал про него!
В видео будет с десяток разных смотровых: на холмах, церквях. в парках и дворцах.
Центр Рима и достопримечательности – это синонимы. Не возможно пройти и 500 метров в любую сторону, чтобы не наткнуться на очередную известную базилику, парк или площадь.
В ролике будет большинство из семи холмов Рима, на которых он стоит: Авентин, Виминал, Капитолий, Квиринал, Палатин, Целий, Эсквилин.

Stalin's failed GULAG: The Trans-Polar Railway (Construction No. 501)
The Trans-Polar is also referred to variously as Dead Road, and Stalinbahn, is an incomplete railway in Northern Siberia. The railway was a project of the Soviet Gulag system that took place from 1947 until Stalin's death in 1953. Construction was coordinated via two separate Gulag projects, the 501 Railroad beginning on the River Ob and 503 Railroad beginning on the River Yenisey, part of a grand design of Joseph Stalin to span a railroad across northern Siberia to reach the Soviet Union's easternmost territories.
The purpose of the railway was threefold: to facilitate the export of nickel from neighboring Norilsk; to provide work for thousands of post-war prisoners; to connect the deep-water seaports of Igarka and Salekhard with the western Russian railway network. With the Soviet industry relocated to western Siberia during World War II, it was seen as a strategic advantage to use the northward-flowing river systems to deliver supplies to Arctic Ocean ports. Salekhard was on the Ob River, downstream from Novosibirsk and Omsk, and Igarka was on the Yenisei. Connecting these two rivers was beneficial for transferring goods between cities and regions.
A rebuilt section of the railway between Nadym and Novy Urengoy on the east bank of the Nadym River is still in operation, as is the extreme western section connecting Labytnangi and the railway to Vorkuta. The section from Salekhard to Nadym is planned to be rebuilt, including a new bridge over the Ob to connect Salekhard to the rest of the Russian railway system via Labytnangi.
Me and my friend Kenji hitchhiked along the Trans-Polar Railway and explored some of the abandoned labor camps located next to the railway. We started out our journey in Novyy Urengoy and finished it in Salekhard. Along our way, we visited 2 forced labor camps of GULAG.

On this video, we will talk about the most dangerous places in the world.
Number 10. Tualatin River, U.S.A. Tualatin River has a lot of toxic blue green algae.
This toxic blue green algae is deadly.
This is a fast-growing algae and can pollute the water rapidly.
Someone who is contaminated with this water, may experience diarrhea, paralyzation and even death.
Number 9. Lake Natron, Tanzania.
Lake Natron is one of the saltiest and the most alkaline lake in the world.
This red colored lake is being covered with salt.
You may still find some species of fishes that lives in this lake and some flamingos.
Number 8. Rio Tinto, Spain.
Rio Tinto is one of the most acidic body of water on the earth.
Acid level here may kill animals who will try to swim on this lake.
This place is rich in pressure metals like gold, that is why it is well known in ancient history.
Sometimes fishes with different appearance, or those that mutated in this river are found.
Number 7. Lake Kivu, Africa..
This lake is almost 500 meters deep.
It contains so much carbon dioxide and methane gas which is hazardous to people.
Because water on this lake is flammable, volcanic eruptions around this lake may devastate the environment around it’s proximity.
Earthquakes around the lake may cause eruptions that may affect the 2 million residents around the lake.
Number 6. Citarum River, Indonesia.
Citarum river is the most polluted and filthiest river on the earth.
That is why this river is so deadly.
This river is being surrounded by almost 200 factories, and has millions of residents around the river.
This river has so many rubbish and chemicals like mercury, which are all hazardous to people.
People still swim in this river.
It is sad to know that people here have no choice but to use the water coming from the river.
Number 5. Lake Karachay, Russia.
The stunning beauty of this lake also composed of high level radioactive waste deposits to a depth of roughly 3.4 metres which made the lake polluted.
This lake has the most radioactive waste in the world.
The whole lake, including the neighbouring city and plant is completely shut off from the outside world. The only legal way to get in is to go through a checkpoint.
You will need radioactive protections, and you cannot stay for so long, you’ll die of radioactive.
Number 4. Potomac River U.S.A.
This river has a very strong underwater current.
So if you try to swim and get to the bottom, steep part of it, that may be your last adventure.
Almost 5 people die every year in Potomac River.
Most victims are people who are just playing along the river .
Number 3. Blue Lagoon, U.K.
Because of its stunning beauty, you may not think that this lagoon has a lot of toxins like ammonia that causes different skin diseases and stomach pains.
This beautifully deceiving lagoon is actually a toxic soup filled with cars, carcasses, and trash, of course this doesn't stop people going for a dip. So the town dyed it black.
Number 2. Jacobwell, Texas, U.S.A.
Jacob's Well cave descends vertically for about 30 feet , then continues downward at an angle through a series of silted chambers separated by narrow restrictions, finally reaching an average depth of 120 feet.
The cave’s chambers can be tricky, specially the third one located 80 feet below the surface which features a fake exit that has trapped and killed atleast one diver.
The fourth chamber is perhaps the most dangerous since it involves squeezing through a very narrow passageway.
Two young Texas men were caught in one of the well’s caves and drowned in 1979. Another diver’s remains were flashed out of the well in 1981 and there have been other fatalities until 2000.
Jacobwell is knows as the most dangerous diving spot in the world.
Number 1. Great Blue Hole.
Its fame has stemmed from its beautiful waters, stunning size and grandeur, and its fantastic variety of marine life.
People and ships are not allowed to go close to the hole because of stories that the hole has some kind of gravitational pull.
You may also find lots of sharks within the hole.
The Blue Hole itself is no more dangerous than any other Red Sea dive site but diving through the Arch, a submerged tunnel, which lies within the Blue Hole site, is an extreme dive that has resulted in many accidents and fatalities.
