What to do in Puerto Rico? ???????? | Visit Orocovis, Barranquitas, and the Central Mountains
We explore Puerto Rico's Central Mountains to see what most visitors are missing out on. Most travelers stick to San Juan, but Puerto Rico is full of beauty all around the island. We start off at Cerro Meme, just west of Orocovis, surrounded by rolling mountains at the summit. We then head to Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to grab some Puerto Rican food at El Mofongo, called... mofongos. We then travel over to the Chorro de Doña Juana Waterfall, which was still beautiful considering it was much smaller than usual. We end our day at an overlook called El Banquillo, which overlooks the southern mountains, coastline, and Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Las Cascadas, Del Chorro, De Doña Juana
El Chorro de Doña Juana se encuentra en la carretera 149 entre la colindancia de Ciales, Orocovis y Villalba. Nace de una quebrada que sale del Bosque Toro Negro. El área cuenta con un agradable clima que combinado con su belleza natural, crean un ambiente sumamente relajante. Excelente para darse un chapuzón, tomar fotos o simplemente disfrutar del paisaje. Es bastante concurrida por los turistas y locales. Es muy buena opción para hacer turismo interno en nuestra isla de, Puerto Rico.
El Chorro de Doña Juana cuenta con 7 cascadas desde su comienzo hasta el final. También el área es utilizada para hacer rappelling o bajada en soga. Si eres aventurero y tomas riesgo, hay una vereda montaña arriba que te lleva a una cascada mucho más grande y con una poza donde puedes bañarte, admirar y deleitarte con su belleza.
Su Leyenda y procedencia del nombre.
Doña Juana, Era una reconocida vecina del barrio Ala De La Piedra de Orocovis, ella era una Amante De Los Animales.En Una Ocasión Divisó Sus Cerdos Al Otro Lado Del Río. El Día Estaba Nublado Y Lluvioso. Pero, Sus Extraordinarias Habilidades Para Correr Y Nadar Ríos Caudalosos era muy impresionantes. Pero sin Embargo, Ese Día Fue Advertida Por Todos, ya que sabían que Iba A Bajar El Golpe De Agua o Crecida. A Todo Lo Cual Le Gritaron Que No Se Tirara A Cruzar El Río.
Pero, Ésta Se Lanzó Despavorida Para Rescatar Sus Preciados Cerdos Al Río y lamentablemente El Golpe De Agua La Arrastró Río Abajo, Cayendo Por varias Caídas De Agua Y Nunca Jamás Se Supo De Doña Juana.
Hoy Día, Se Reconoce Toda El Área Por Donde Pasa El Río En El Bosque Como El Chorro de Doña Juana, Terminando Su Identificación Trágica En Un Chorro Con Tres Caídas En El Que Se Presume Cayó La Infortunada Amante De Animales y de la Naturaleza.

????Área Recreacional Toro Negro Orocovis, Puerto Rico ????????
Esta área recreativa se sitúa al suroeste del municipio de Orocovis en el Barrio Ala de la Piedra en la carretera PR-143, la famosa Ruta Panorámica de Puerto Rico.
Esta área recreacional es una de las tantas que tiene por ofrecer el Bosque Estatal de Toro Negro. Aquí encontrarás de manera accesible; El Jardín de Sylvia, Charco de los Suspiros, Gazebos y La Piscina Natural la cual en el presente esta fuera de servicio y en abandono. Estas áreas mencionadas están relativamente cerca una de la otra.
Más distante encontrarás otras áreas tales como: Charca La Confesora, Área de Acampar ???? y La Torre de Observación la cual esta localizada en el Cerro de Doña Juana a 1,078 metros de altura.
Su estacionamiento es bastante amplio y por el momento su entrada principal permanece cerrada, pero puedes acceder a esta área recreativa por el lado izquierdo de esta entrada.
Este bosque (Toro Negro) abarca sobre aproximadamente 6,945 cuerdas de terreno desde Jayuya, Ponce, Orocovis, Villalba, Juana Díaz y Ciales. Sin embargo, las instalaciones, veredas y área de acampar están ubicadas en la zona de Orocovis. El bosque es muy parecido al Bosque Nacional el Yunque debido a su ecosistema.
El Bosque Estatal de Toro Negro es el hogar de los 3 cerros ⛰ más altos de toda la isla de Puerto Rico ????????:
1. Cerro de Punta con 1,338 metros de altura, siendo el pico más alto de toda la isla.
2. Cerro Monte Jayuya con 1,315 metros.
3. Cerro Rosa con 1,267 metros.
