EXPLORING NORTHERN ITALY: Nomading About Weekly 4

Nomading About Weekly - Episode 4.

Our last week in #NorthernItaly was one of food!

We went to Kim's grandfather's town of Cardezza to spend time with her cousin Daniele, who happens to be a spectacular pizza maker.

We also visited the botanical gardens at Villa Taranto and share some of our favorite things from our time here.

And thanks to my generous cousin Angelica, we celebrated the start of summer with a special dinner and ended the week having dinner with the family.

To thank Angelica, Gloria, and Tino for their hospitality, we brought a little of the southwest to them and cooked them fajitas. We didn't catch it on film, because we were busy cooking. But it was a lovely dinner in the garden with some pretty special people.

We are not sure it was thank you enough for all they did to make this stay so memorable, but it was heartfelt.

Angelica, Gloria, Tino - thank you! We are so happy to call you family. We love you. ❤️

Now, enjoy this sneak peek into our week in Northern #Italy.

“Let’s go” has pretty much been our life’s motto since we met nearly 25 years ago. We met in New York, moved to San Diego together, and married in Lake Tahoe – all within five months. When you know, you know – you know what we mean?

Now, after raising two adventure-seeking boys, we are ready to get out and explore some more. Our children have begun their lives and now it’s time to begin the second-half of ours.

We wanted a challenge and something fun, so we are starting an adventure of a lifetime. We’re calling it #60×60. Our plan is to travel to 60 countries by the time Kim turns 60 (that’s in 6 years by the way).

This video contains visual and factual information about the first day of my trip to Switzerland which started with a bus journey from Milan Linate in Italy to Täsch and then a shuttle train journey to Zermatt, Switzerland from Täsch.

Iselle, a village in Italy that is located on the border between Italy and Switzerland. The village of Simplon is located on the south side of the Simplon Pass near the Italian border.

Simplon Pass is a high mountain pass between the Pennine Alps and the Lepontine Alps in Switzerland. The elevation of Simplon Pass is 2,006 m (6,581 ft) above sea level. Simplon Hospiz (Hospice) is in the Simplon Pass. The Simplon Hospice was begun in 1801 on orders from Napoleon. The Simplon Pass was built by Napoleon Bonaparte in the early 19th century to provide a direct route between France and Italy.

Eyholztunnel is a 4.25 kilometre long tunnel of the Swiss highway A9, serving as a bypass of the town of Visp in the canton of Valais.

The Matterhorn Terminal Täsch is the central pivotal point for automobiles. In Täsch, they must be parked before guests continue the journey to Zermatt comfortably in the shuttle train. The Matterhorn Terminal Täsch is not just a train station and a parking garage but also a logistics centre for arriving passengers.

Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGBahn) shuttle train goes to Zermatt from Täsch. Zermatt is car-free. Therefore one travels directly to the centre of Zermatt by train from Täsch in 12 minutes.

Zermatt, in southern Switzerland’s Valais canton, is a mountain resort renowned for skiing, climbing and hiking. The town, at an elevation of around 1,600m, lies below the iconic, pyramid-shaped Matterhorn peak. Bahnhofplatz is a square in Zermatt that is located next to the Zermatt railway station. The main street, Bahnhofstrasse is lined with shops, hotels and restaurants.

Gornergrat Bahn (train) goes to Gornergrat from Zermatt. The Gornergrat railway station is a railway station on the summit of the Gornergrat. It is located above Zermatt, in the canton of Valais. The station is situated at an altitude of 3,089 meters (10,135 ft) above sea level and is the highest open-air railway station in Europe. The station is served by the Gornergrat railway, which climbs up from Zermatt. This trip will be covered in the next video.

Schweiz 2019 - Tag 11: Domodossola - Der Markt / Der Kalvarienberg / Das Kastell

UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe Sacro Monte Calvario:

Great place of Mountain's Madesimo- Italy

My first hiking video | Hiking in the Val Grande region from Premosello to Malesco

I went with a friend on a 3-day-hike to the Val Grande region in italy near the swiss border. It's a place where the last fights between the Partisan rebels and Mussolini's Army found place. Since then it is an abandoned and wild place. Only some ruines of little farms and some paths which are getting lost into the growing nature are left behind.

LA ROCCA D'ANFO

La Rocca D’Anfo. - Un video di Giancarlo Giupponi. Musiche: Brano iniziale e finale: Epic Cinematic Background Music (No Copyright) Branco centrale: Giancarlo Giupponi.
