Cabe remarcar que en este área se encuentran cientos de yacimientos arqueológicos de las diferentes tribus que poblaron esta isla, desde los caribes hasta los taínos.
Situado en la zona más meridional de la Española, el parque engloba ecosistemas que van desde las profundidades del mar caribe hasta los 2300 metros de la Sierra de Bahoruco.

A pesar de su inclusión en 1984 como parque nacional, esta región se encuentra en constante amenaza, desde la tala indiscriminada para campos de cultivo de aguacate o la extracción de maderas exóticas, hasta el comercio ilegal de sus especies de flora y fauna endémicas.

Come take a look at what a day in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic looks like for us! We went to visit our very close friends and this is what we did. Jarabacoa is very beautiful, laid back and peaceful, so our days there are usually not too crazy. I truly cherish the time that I get to spend in one of my favorite cities with some of my favorite people. And you already know the Dominican hospitality is 10/10! We went to their house, had some food, walked around their neighborhood, went to the center of Jarabacoa and ate at Frescos, and spent a beautiful time together. Be sure to comment below!
