Valparaíso is a city and port of Chile, it is the capital of the Region of Valparaíso and one of the three most populated Chilean cities.
Due to its architectural wealth, its historic center was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is characterized by its densely populated hills and its old elevators.
Valparaíso is a city located 120 kilometers west of Santiago, and next to Viña del Mar, Quilpué, Villa Alemana and Concón.

Colonia Tovar: Venezuela's Little Germany Looks Like a Village in the Black Forest
Where can you find half-timbered houses, German beer, and Black Forest cake in South America? Colonia Tovar. DW's Joel Dullroy visited the Venezuelan tourist attraction, where he felt transported back to the heart of the Black Forest. The town has a population of roughly 20,000 people, and was founded by German immigrants around 150 years ago. Not much has changed there since then.

Viña del Mar es una ciudad y comuna chilena perteneciente a la provincia y Región de Valparaíso, ubicada en el litoral central, sobre las cuencas de los esteros Reñaca y Marga Marga, y a orillas de la bahía de Valparaíso.

Valparaíso es una ciudad y comuna de Chile, ubicada en el litoral central del territorio continental, es la capital de la provincia y región de Valparaíso. Es el centro histórico, administrativo, universitario y principal núcleo urbano del Área Metropolitana de Valparaíso, que forma junto a las comunas de Viña del Mar, Quilpué, Villa Alemana y Concón. Según el censo 2012 cuenta con una población estimada de 300.000 personas, que asciende a 1.040.000 habitantes si incluimos su conurbación, siendo la tercera ciudad y área metropolitana más poblada de Chile, por detrás del Gran Santiago y el Gran Concepción.
Valparaíso es sede del Congreso Nacional, la Comandancia en Jefe de la Armada de Chile y de otras instituciones del Estado de carácter nacional como el Consejo Nacional de la Cultura y las Artes, la Subsecretaría de Pesca, los servicios de Aduanas y de Pesca y Acuicultura. Es el principal puerto de Chile y uno de los más importantes del Pacífico Sur. Además la ciudad es sede de algunas de las universidades más prestigiosas del país como la Católica de Valparaíso, la de Playa Ancha, la de Valparaíso y la Técnica Federico Santa María.
Geográficamente, la ciudad se presenta en forma de un gran anfiteatro natural, emplazada en la bahía homónima y rodeada de cerros, en los cuales vive la mayor parte de la población.8 Entre el pie de los cerros y el mar se forma el Plan, centro administrativo, comercial y financiero de la ciudad; mientras el bordemar es ocupado por el puerto.
Debido a su riqueza arquitectónica desarrollada principalmente a fines del siglo XIX, en 2003 su centro histórico fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco, convirtiéndose en el tercer sitio chileno protegido por el organismo internacional, tras el Parque nacional Rapa Nui y iglesias de Chiloé.

Episodio de ANDO EN TREN (RIDING TRAINS) con el viaje en tren Año Nuevo 2024 Santiago Limache Viña del Mar, un servicio especial de la Corporación del Patrimonio Ferroviario, la Empresa de Ferrocarriles del Estado, enmarcado en el contexto de los servicios turísticos del Tren del Recuerdo.
Primera vez que se hace este servicio especial, el tren especial hace el viaje desde Estación Central a Limache, pasando por zonas como el humedal de Batuco, la cuesta El Tabón, Llay Llay, el río Aconcagua, La Calera, Quillota. Y en Limache, los pasajeros hacen combinación con Metro Valparaíso, el servicio de tren urbano y tren de cercanías que conecta Limache con Villa Alemana, Quilpué, Viña del Mar y Valparaíso. Es un viaje de 5 horas de ida, y 5 horas de regreso.
El tren salió en la tarde, llegamos en la noche a la estación Miramar de Viña del Mar, donde las personas pudieron caminar para encontrar un sitio donde ver los fuegos artificiales, el mayor espectáculo pirotécnico de Chile para el Año Nuevo. Valparaíso y Viña del Mar se convierten en un anfiteatro natural, con muchos puntos de fuegos artificiales y un espectáculo maravilloso.
La formación del tren fue de 2 locomotoras diésel (Transap D3501, EFE D7148), con coches de la serie 10.000 de RENFE que tenían asientos Preferente, Super Salón y Turista, un coche Cafetería de la misma serie, coches Linke Hoffmann con asientos Salón, y un coche VideoBar. En total, el tren tenía capacidad para 476 pasajeros, todos los boletos fueron vendidos y el tren llegó a tener lista de espera.
En el retorno, a las 03.00 de la madrugada, tomamos un servicio especial de Metro Valparaíso, en trenes Alstom Xtrapolis 100, con un servicio directo Miramar - Limache, exclusivo para los pasajeros del Tren Año Nuevo 2024. Cerca de las 04.00 de la madrugada, tomamos el tren desde Limache hacia la Estación Central de Santiago.

LAKE PUELO: Visiting the BEST LAKE IN PATAGONIA? Trail to the Border of ARGENTINA ???????? & CHILE ????????
Come join us as we visit possibly the best lake in all of Patagonia, Lake Puelo (known locally as Lago Puelo), in terms of pristine scenery, lake of crowds and hiking and boating opportunities. We also hike to a frontier section of the border between Argentina and Chile.
In order to visit Lake Puelo (Lago Puelo) we took the La Golondrina bus from El Bolson for a short bus ride to the lake. With frequent departures it is definitely the cheapest and easiest way to visit Lago Puelo (Lake Puelo) if you're staying in El Bolson. Conversely you could just stay in the town of Lago Puelo.
We had an incredible day of independent hiking in Lake Puelo before joining an organized boat tour where snow-capped mountains tickled our fancy off in the distance. Our one stop of the day was to go on a nice nature hike where we reached the border of Argentina and Chile. Overall, if you're thinking of visiting Lago Puelo we highly recommend it!

LAKE PUELO: Visiting the BEST LAKE IN PATAGONIA? Trail to the Border of ARGENTINA ???????? & CHILE ????????
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.
