Nonostante sia li, a poche ore di macchina, in Slovenia ci siamo sempre passati ma mai fermati. Questa volta abbiamo deciso di dedicare un viaggio e un documentario a questo paese, nostro vicino
La Slovenia non ha grandi monumenti o attrazioni di fama mondiale, ma un sacco di piccole gemme, piccole e perfette, non ancora toccate dal turismo di massa
Questo paese ha saputo sintetizzare e prendere il meglio dei suoi vicini più famosi. A Pirano, sembra di stare in un quartiere di Venezia, a Prejama ci si chiede se siamo in Transilvania, Bled e' un lago alpino che potrebbe sembrare in Austria mentre Ljubljana potrebbe essere la sorella di Praga. Non siamo in Italia, Austria, Boemia o Transilvania: siamo in Slovenia, cuore verde dell'Europa
Il nostro itinerario e' stato organizzato cosi
Siamo arrivati dall'Italia in macchina e, passata Trieste, ci siamo fermati subito dopo il confine, nel piccolo borgo di Pirano. Qui siamo stati due notti e abbiamo dedicato mezza giornata per fare una splendida passeggiata verso le saline di Strugnano. Lungo la strada per Ljubljana ci siamo fermati alle grotte di Postumia e al magnifico casello di Prejama. A Ljubljana siamo stati due notti. Ottimo cibo, camminate, locali, vita notturna e una generale rilassatezza caratterizzano la capitale slovena. Da qui, con un' ora di macchina si raggiunge Bled, lago Alpino, icona della Slovenia. Purtroppo siamo stati una sola notte e la giornata e' stata caratterizzata da un temporale estivo. Per cui non abbiamo potuto approfittare di tutte le attività sportive che si possono praticare.
Per rientrare in Italia abbiamo attraversato in macchina la catena del Triglav e siamo scesi lungo l'Isonzo, per fermarci brevemente a Caporetto, per ricordare il luogo della sanguinosa battaglia

The Mura Statistical Region is a statistical region in the north-east of Slovenia. It is predominantly agricultural with field crops representing over three quarters of the total utilised agricultural area, twice as much as the Slovene average. Climate and soil combined have made it the region with the highest crop production, but its geographical position and inferior infrastructure put it at a disadvantage and it is the region of Slovenia with the lowest GDP per capita (EUR 8,500) and the highest rate of registered unemployment. The region comprises the following municipalities: Apače, Beltinci, Cankova, Črenšovci, Dobrovnik, Gornja Radgona, Gornji Petrovci, Grad, Hodoš, Kobilje, Križevci, Kuzma, Lendava, Ljutomer, Moravske Toplice, Murska Sobota, Odranci, Puconci, Radenci, Razkrižje, Rogašovci, Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici, Šalovci, Tišina, Turnišče, Velika Polana and Veržej. The population in 2004 was 122,717. Employment structure: 41.2% services, 44.8% industry, 14.0% agriculture. It attracts 7.8% of the total number of tourists in Slovenia, most being from Slovenia (52%). Length of motorways: 14 km Length of other roads: 1451 km.

Štrekna – Kolesarska pot po Mislinjski dolini
Kolesarska pot po Mislinjski dolini velja za infrastrukturno eno najbolje urejenih kolesarskih poti v Sloveniji. Poteka po delu trase opuščene železnice Otiški vrh – Velenje. Trenutno je urejena v dolžini 24 km med Otiškim vrhom, Slovenj Gradcem, Mislinjo in Gornjim Doličem. Pot, katere podlaga je na celotni dolžini asfalt, poteka kot ločena kolesarska pot in je zaradi varnosti še posebej primerna za družine z otroki in starejše. Ob poti je več urejenih počivališč in kar nekaj ohranjenih atraktivnih nekdanjih železniških objektov, med njimi most v Slovenj Gradcu ter tunela v Mislinji in Gornjem Doliču. Med vožnjo lahko uživate v pogledih na Pohorje in Uršljo Goro. Ustaviti se morate tudi v Slovenj Gradcu in si ogledati srednjeveško mestno jedro.

Štrekna – Cycling Route in the Mislinja Valley
This cycling route is one of the best routes in Slovenia. It runs through unused railway Otiški Vrh- Velenje. Currently is 24km in length and it leads through Otiški vrh, Slovenj Gradec, Mislinja, and Gornji Dolič. The surface of the path consists of the asphalt and is separated from other routes therefore it is suitable for families with children and for elderly. Along the length of the route you can find resting places, different railway infrastructures such as the bridge in Slovenj Gradec and two tunnels in Mislinja and Gornji Dolič. During cycling you can enjoy the views on Pohorje and Uršlja gora. You must also stop in Slovenj Gradec to visit medieval town centre.

Camp site Soncni gaj - Thermal Park Banovci - camping Slovenia
- Camp Soncni gaj is located on the north-eastern part of Slovenia, 8km from new highway, that you leave by the exit Vucja vas. Camp is part of Thermal Park Banovci. It has all together 200 pitches, among which 70 are reserved for naturists. Additionally, you can stay over in the hotel.
Camp was opened as first naturist camp in Thermal Park in Europe. Guests can enjoy in three out door swimming pools with thermal water (34 -- 38 degrees), in pool with regular water, in one with toboggan. For children they have separated swimming pool. Recently they enriched their services with wellness swimming pool with thermal water, whirlpool and underwater massages. For refreshment they added Kneip swimming pool.
As part of the camp complex you will also find wellness centre with rich offer of services, three finish saunas and one Turkish bath. Camp has also many water facilities; you can rent a bike, play tennis, table tennis or volleyball.
For guests of the camp organizes also trips around the neighborhood, takes you boating on river Mura, tasting of local wines or organizes flight with motor hang-gliding.

Mur River:
The Mur (German pronunciation: [ˈmuːɐ̯]) or Mura (Slovene pronunciation: [ˈmúːɾa]; Croatian: [mǔːra]; Hungarian: [ˈmurɒ]; Prekmurje Slovene: Müra[2] or Möra[2]) is a river in Central Europe rising in the Hohe Tauern national park of the Central Eastern Alps in Austria with its source being 1,898 m (6,227 ft) above sea level. It is a tributary of the Drava and subsequently the Danube.
The Mur's total length is around 464 kilometres (288 mi).[1] About 326 km are within the interior of Austria; 95 km flow in and around Slovenia (67 km along the borders with Austria and Croatia, 28 km inside Slovenia),[3] and the rest forms the border between Croatia and Hungary. The largest city on the river is Graz, Austria. Its basin covers an area of 13,800 km2 (5,300 sq mi).[4]
Tributaries of the Mur include the Mürz, the Sulm, the Ščavnica, the Ledava and the Trnava.
