Historical facts of this town:
The town of Segeberg was officially founded in the 12th century. It was located at an important crossroads between the Baltic Sea and the North Sea regions, which contributed to its early growth and development. Segeberg was part of the Duchy of Saxony and later became part of the Danish realm. In the early 20th century, Segeberg gained the title of Bad (German for spa) due to its healing mineral springs and health facilities. This designation attracted visitors seeking health treatments, contributing to the town's growth as a spa destination. Today, Bad Segeberg is a vibrant town with a mix of historical charm and modern amenities. Its spa facilities, picturesque surroundings, and cultural events like the Karl May Festival continue to attract visitors and make it a popular tourist destination.

Walking in OLDENBURG / Germany ????????- Around the City Center - 4K 60fps (UHD)
Oldenburg is a town in northwest Germany. The old center of Oldenburg has many restaurants and cafes on pedestrian streets that we will visit on this walk.
We start our tour at the Hafenpromenade along the harbor of Oldenburg east of the city center. We are quickly getting to the inner city and the Ritterstraße to visit the Rathausmarkt with the St. Lamberti Church of Oldenburg.
Our tour continues to the Oldenburger Schloss that we circle around. On our way we also see the Berliner Bären statue. Then it's time to make a little detour outside of the city center.
Returning back to the inner city through Schlossplatz we now see more of the center and often head out and back into the many pedestrian streets. We even see the Lappan, a historic bell tower in the north of the city and stroll around the many alleys. There are more paths to explore.

The ice skating area was set up directly in the center right next to the famous and exlusice shopping mile Kings's Avenue (German: Königsallee).
For the video I walked around the ice rink. After that I drank a hot mulled wine to get warm again. It was 2 degrees Celsius.

The Mannheim market square in the northern part of Mannheim's inner city (so-called Western Lower Town ), just west of the Kurpfalzstraße , is one of the oldest and most frequented squares in the city. It includes the entire square G 1. At the southern end is the baroque double building of the Old Town Hall (now a café) and the Catholic parish church of St. Sebastian , which is the oldest building in Mannheim. The square itself is dominated by Marktplatzbrunnen , the Elector Karl Theodordonated to the city in 1767. By the stop market place with the lines 1, 3, 4, 5 and 7 of the Rhine Neckar traffic GmbH (RNV) operated tram the place is directly connected to the public passenger traffic (ÖPNV).
The marketplace was soon after the city was founded in 1607 together with the first city hall. Since then, a food market has been held three days a week. After the destruction of the city in the Thirty Years' War and the Palatinate War of Succession , the site was maintained in each case. The construction of a new town hall and the parish church of St. Sebastian as a double building in the years after 1700 symbolizes the change from the Protestant to the Catholic denomination in the Palatinate under Elector Johann Wilhelm : Catholic Church and state authority resided under one roof. Above the portals is the dedicationJustitiae et Pietati (Justice and Piety). The marketplace lost its central position in the following years due to the city expansion to the south, the alignment of the castle and the grounds of Paradeplatz , but remained the center of public and political life. For example, it was also the place of jurisdiction where public executions took place. During the Baden Revolution in 1848/49 popular gatherings took place on the square with more than 6,000 participants; in the aftermath of the November Revolution, unrest broke out in 1919 due to higher prices. In 1933, the National Socialist book burning took place in the squareinstead of. After the end of the Second World War , tens of thousands of people from Mannheim demonstrated against the consequences of the currency reform, which were initially negatively perceived as price increases . In 1978/1979 an underground car park was built under the market square. Since the arrival of the first migrant workers in West Germany in the 1960s, the western lower city has become the preferred residential area of Turkish immigrants who created their own infrastructure.
The market square is today on the edge of a neighborhood characterized by restaurants, shops and facilities of all kinds, which is popularly referred to as Little Istanbul or Little Istanbul (especially the squares north and west of the square: G 1, H 1, G 2 and H 2). At the cafés and shops at the market, therefore, also a Turkish bakery, a Turkish butcher and several Turkish restaurants joined. In the heart of central Hamburg, Planten un Blomen park is linking inner city shopping streets with Hamburg convention and exhibition centres, Hamburg University and the bars and pubs of St. Pauli. In other words, it functions as the connector between the Outer Alster lake and the Elbe river. Covering 450,000 sqm of reclaimed medieval fortifications, the park lives up to its name. Planten un Blomen is Low German and translates to 'Plants and Flowers'. The park offers manicured flower beds, herb gardens and vast lawns. Idyllic ponds as well as themed gardens are a popular time-out spot for business people and university students alike. And with access to central Hamburg, the park is never far away. From West to East locals walk to the Neustadt quarter with its busy shopping streets and restaurants from either the University or the more alternative St. Pauli and Karolinenviertel quarters. From Landungsbrücken to the South Planten un Blomen is spanning to the Messehallen exhibition centre and Dammtor station in the North. And no matter where you enter the park from, there is always something to explore.
The Planten un Blomen park in central Hamburg is a wonderful destination for families, romantic couples and those seeking relaxation. There is a botanical garden with a tropical greenhouse and the largest Japanese garden in Europe. Whether riding a pony or a tea ceremony in the Japanese garden, everyday life is far away from here.
Anyone who wants to take a break during their stay in the Hanseatic city simply must visit the Planten un Blomen park in Hamburg. Where Danish cannonballs flew centuries ago, a gorgeous green recreation area now extends from St. Pauli to the Alster. The green ring around Hamburg dates back to the ramparts demolished at the beginning of the 19th century. At first there was a zoological garden here, and in the 1930s the park was gradually converted into a freely accessible public recreation area. The Low German name, which essentially just means plants and flowers, dates from this period.
The garden is more than just a traditional park with a lawn and barbecue area, although those are also available. In addition to the summer programme for young and old, the water light shows with music by the park's lake each day are a highlight. The half-hour light show with coloured fountains and regularly changing music programme takes place every night at 10.00pm from May to September. A cosy blanket and a bottle of wine are all you need for the right amount of romance.
