Ultimate 3-Day Coorg Itinerary For A Solo Traveller | EP15 | Curly Tales
Many people visit it for its coffee plantations but there’s so much more to it! Coorg or Kodagu as most people popularly know it is the coffee capital of India. To be very honest, it felt like a warm cup of hug more than coffee!
Although it was the second time I visited Coorg, I had a lot of firsts. For this solo trip, I explored the Tibetan monastery located in Bylakuppa, rafted through the rivers of the Kaveri, relished on some rich coffee and yum local food, and so much more!
Best time to visit Coorg is definitely between March - June, however visiting it in its off-beat months has its own charm. Of course if the right precautions are taken!

I went on a weekend trip to Coorg from Bangalore with my friends, explored some beautiful places sharing it through my lens :) I Hope you all enjoy it.
Madikeri is a hill town in southern India. Framed by the Western Ghats mountain range, it’s known for the Raja’s Seat, a simple monument overlooking forests and rice paddies. In the center, the 17th-century Madikeri Fort features 2 stone elephants at the entrance. Nearby, the domed Omkareshwar Temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva. To the northwest, cascading Abbey Falls is surrounded by spice plantations.

Discover the top tourist places to visit in Coorg
At an altitude of 1525 meters on Western Ghats, Coorg is known as the Scotland of India. It is also one of the top destinations of Karnataka tourism. Coorg is the largest producer of Coffee in India. Also, it is one of the places with highest rainfall in India. The Kodagu district comprises different communities like Kodava, Tulu, Gowda and Moplah out of which the largest is the Kodava community. The economy depends on agriculture, coffee plantations, forestry and tourism.
Talacauvery, Abbey Falls and Dubare are some of the best places to visit in Coorg. Coorg was under the Gangas rule during 9th and 10th centuries and Cholas in the 11th century followed by Hoysalas. Later Coorg was relatively independent under Haleri Rajas until British occupied the region in 1834. Coorg was a separate state before its merger with Karnataka in the year 1956.

Abbey falls located between the natural greenery of coffee plantations and spice estates is blessed with stunning beauty and serene calm. The falls has a wild beauty. Water cascading over rocks into the pool. The roaring sound of the waterfalls can be heard from the road.
During Monsoon the water flow is very high and in dry seasons the flow is low. There is a hanging bridge here providing the amazing sight of this waterfalls. The best time to visit Abbey falls is early winter.
Dubare Elephant Camp is situated on the banks of River Kaveri in Coorg district of Karnataka state. A popular tourist spots, the camp attracts tourists, especially wildlife enthusiast from all over the world. It presents tourists with an opportunity to be close to elephants and engage in various activities related to them.
Elephant Camp at Dubare is the project undertaken by forest department and jungle lodges and resorts. Not just interaction with elephants, tourists also get mesmerizing natural settings consisting of lush greenery and refreshing environment to spend some memorable days.
Earlier at this place elephants used to be trained for Mysore Dussehra but now they are mostly used to jungle rides and other purposes. They are trained under naturalists. These trained naturalists assist tourists with details on Elephant history, ecology and biology. What makes this camp unique is the fact that tourists can participate in various activities with elephants which is three hour elephant interaction.

I recently visited Coorg to have a 3-day long staycation. I decided to curate a list of places I have been to earlier and make this small Coorg tour guide to suggest you places to visit.
I was staying at this beautiful property - Magnolia estate and resort and I tried a one-take FPV shot at the property with my friend Rohan.

VIRAJPET, The less traveled side of Coorg | Kakkabe | Nalknad Palace | Coorg Tourist Places Holiday
Coorg or Kodagu is known as the Scottland of India due to green rolling hills, abundant waterfalls, and grasslands. Virajpet is a less-traveled part of Coorg and preserves most of the hills, jungles, and natural resources in its best form. Visit to historical Nalknad palace, waterfalls, and trek to Tadiandamol Peak is some of the famous activities of Virajpet. In fact, many travel here just to enjoy nature, stargaze and have a relaxed plantation stay.
We stayed at Palace Estate during our visit, a homestay that is right on the edge of a large coffee plantation and has a private waterfall. It is a good place to stay right on Thadiyandamol Trail. The nearest town is Kakkabe.
