Nagabeta Undersea Road || Kumamoto Prefecture [JAPAN TRAVEL GUIDE]
Nagabeta Undersea Road is located in Uto City, Kumamoto Prefecture. This is a picturesque place especially at sunset and hopefully during the high tide when the road and the lamp posts are submerged in the sea. The road is only accessible at different times of the day depending on the tide.
BuiIt in 1974 for the fisher folks in the vicinity, who also cultivate seaweeds and shellfish in the Ariake sea, Nagabeta Undersea Road is visible only during the low tide. The view is superb during sunset when the water reflects the warm hues of the setting sun in the Ariake sea. This mysterious road has become one of the most photographed tourist spots in Kumamoto Prefecture.

【Japan 1minute Travel KUMAMOTO Uto】 熊本 宇土（有明海と一体化する砂紋の美しさ）
ここは熊本県の宇土半島の有明海側に位置する御輿来海岸（おこしきかいがん）。
島原の対岸で雲仙普賢岳が良く見えます。
何とも舌を噛みそうな名前ですが、景行天皇（４世紀前半）が九州遠征の際に、美しい海岸線が目に留まり、しばし御輿をとめて見入っていたことが名前の由来とのこと。
伝説か言い伝えかはよく分かりませんが、確かに見入ってしまう海岸線ですね。
自然は偉大なる芸術家である！！
この有明海は干潮と満潮の差が日本一大きく、最干潮の時は沖合700メートル、幅6キロぐらいにわたり干潟が広がるそうです。
その際に姿を現す砂地は、風と波により神秘的な曲線を描くそうです。
何とも素晴らしい。
自然とは必然で見事な風景を創りだしますね。
僕はここをたまたま通りかかって、なになに！？ってことで、車をＵターンさせて戻ったんです。（景行天皇みたいですね。笑）
後から聞いたのですが、年に数回、夕景と干潮が重なるとき黄金色に輝く神秘的な光景が見られるそうです。また、満月の夜は瑠璃色に輝くそうです。
何とも魅力的ですね。見てみたいな〜〜。
この日の夕景は残念ながら、ここから数キロ行った長部田海床路（ながべたかいしょうろ）という干潟の海に沈む電柱を撮りに行ってしまいました。笑
それはそれで綺麗でしたが、時間切れで電柱が沈むまで撮れませんでした。
リサーチ不足でしたね。
天草、宇土あたりは絶景ポイントが多い！！
是非、また撮旅したい場所です。
日本の絶景、美しき日本がここにもあります。
