Visiting the Shor family. Indigenous peoples of Russia. Village Life in Russia
Today we arrived in the village - Ust-Kabyrza. This remote village is located in the Tashtagol region. The population is approximately 500 people.
There are Shors live. This is the indigenous people of Russia. There are very few of them left. In total, there are 13,000 Shors left on Earth. And most of them live on the territory of Mountain Shoria. Kemerovo region of Russia.
Not far there are such villages as: Ust Azas, Za-Mrasu, Chazy-Bug (up the river Mrasu); Far Kezek, Near Kezek, Cheley and the village of Parushka (down the Mrasu River). There are no roads to these villages, so many of them are already abandoned.
For a long time, taiga people lived without electricity, gas, communications and roads. And only in 2019, the authorities provided every house with solar panels. Now the locals have refrigerators and TVs in their homes. But still there is no cellular communication and the Internet. There is no school. In September, children are sent to a boarding school in Tashtagol. And they come to their parents only for the holidays. It was such a time that we found them in this amazing village.
Mountain Shoria (Shorsk. Taglyg Shor) is a mountain-taiga region located in the southern part of the Kemerovo region at the junction of Altai, Sayan and Kuznetsk Alatau. The region can conditionally be attributed to the Altai mountain system.
Mountain Shoria got its name from the indigenous people - the Shors.
We are interested in learning how our ancestors lived, to study their traditions and to master ancient crafts and meals.

Great Gostiny Dvor (Russian: Большой Гостиный Двор) is a vast department store on Nevsky Avenue in St Petersburg.
This Gostiny Dvor is not only the city's oldest shopping centre, but also one of the first shopping arcades in the world. Sprawling at the intersection of Nevsky Prospekt and Sadovaya Street for over one kilometer and embracing the area of 53,000 m2 (570,000 sq ft), the indoor complex of more than 100 shops took twenty-eight years to construct. Building works commenced in 1757 to an elaborate design by Bartolomeo Rastrelli, but that subsequently was discarded in favour of a less expensive and more functional Neoclassical design submitted by Jean-Baptiste Vallin de la Mothe (1729–1800).
Throughout the following century, Gostiny Dvor was continuously augmented, resulting in ten indoor streets and as many as 178 shops by the 20th century. By that time, the Gostiny Dvor had lost its popularity to the more fashionable Passage and New Passage, situated on the Nevsky Prospekt nearby. During the post-World War II reconstructions, its inner walls were demolished and a huge shopping mall came into being. This massive 18th-century structure received a face-lift and entered the 21st century as one of the most fashionable shopping centres in Eastern Europe. A nearby station of Saint Petersburg Metro takes its name from Gostiny Dvor.

The BAM: Russia's Unknown Trans-Siberian Train????????
???????? We have all heard of the Trans-Siberian, Russia's mega train journey that crosses Siberia as it skirts the Chinese border. But few have heard of the even more impressive B.A.M ( Baikal Amur Mainline ) which passes through virgin forest in the middle of Siberia. Built in the 1970s by young communists, the BAM is the greatest construction project of the 20th Century. And yet it is unknown in the West.
I decided to go and ride this unknown journey across northern Siberia and speak to the people who came to build it. Join me as we ride 'The Bam'!

Буковина вважається територією, де чи не найкраще в усій Україні збереглися давні традиції відзначення новорічних свят. Свої особливі Маланки, які тут ще називають «переберіями», відбуваються у місті Вашківці, селах Красноїльськ, Горбове, Великий Кучурів, Боян, Припруття, Бабин тощо. Зрештою це сприяло тому, що з 2011 року у столиці Буковини, Чернівцях, проводиться фольклорно-етнографічний фестиваль «Маланка-фест». Щороку 15 січня туди з’їжджаються десятки колективів, аби позмагатися, чия новорічна народна вистава краща.
Найбільша і найвідоміша з усіх буковинських Маланок відбувається у селищі Красноїльськ, що на кордоні з Румунією. 13 і 14 січня тисячі людей у вигадливих костюмах виходять на вулиці селища із виставами, піснями і танцями, святкуючи прихід Нового року. Традиції маланкування тут зберегли попри заборони радянської влади і сьогодні до Красноїльська на Маланку з’їжджаються тисячі туристів не тільки з усієї України, а і з інших країн світу.

Усть-Кут | Байкало-Амурская магистраль (БАМ)
Цикл видео о путешествии по БАМу, который был стройкой века, самым дорогим и сложным инфраструктурным объектом в СССР.
Город Усть-Кут в Иркутской области, крупнейший населённый пункт в направлении на восток до самой Тынды. Основан за столетия до строительства БАМа, как острог в 1631 году. Сейчас это место называется Старый Усть-Кут, там же одноименная станция Усть-Кут и это 713 км БАМа. Но сам современный Усть-Кут не ограничивается только его старой частью, а простирается вдоль реки Лена, которая дала название центральной станции города. От станции Лена в 1974 году началось строительство БАМа 70-х..80-х годов. Шефских коллективов было два: Краснодарский и Ставропольский края РСФСР. Станция Лена - это 720 км БАМа.
Внимание! Обнаружилась ошибка с моей стороны, в видео был показан Ил-4, а не А20 Бостон! Но в целом они достаточно похожи.
Ну и конечно же ударение, в Усть-Кут'Е' :)

Цикл видео о путешествии по БАМу, который был стройкой века, самым дорогим и сложным инфраструктурным объектом в СССР.
Посёлок городского типа Новая Чара в Забайкальском крае (ранее Читинская область). Центр добычи меди на БАМе в общем и Забайкальском крае в частности. Появился этот ПГТ благодаря БАМу, но рядом с ним есть его старший брат - село Чара. Хоть сейчас оно маленькое, удаленное, но Чара является первым поселением русских землепроходцев на севере Забайкальского края.
Шефский коллектив - Казахская ССР. Станция Новая Чара - это 1719 км БАМа.
ВАЖНОЕ уточнение. Чара - это первое поселение СЕВЕРНОЙ части нынешнего Забайкальского края.

I’m sure you already knew! The BAM is electrified for approx. the first day’s travel east of Tayshet ([i.e. going the other way - but it is actually electrified westbound too… TO TAYSHET :-P), as it winds its way through the hills of the north Baikal region. Still well worth the trip though (rather than perhaps trying to find a way of flying internally from Moscow to somewhere further east than Bratsk (for example) to start the BAM experience). Maybe one day there’ll even be a well-worn tourist route (in summer) by ferry from Severobaikalsk (on the BAM) to Port Baikal/Listvyanka ([in the south near to Irkutsk, and the Trans-Sib.) Who knows?

Siberia is a huge area of Russia and northern Kazakhstan that encompasses all of northern Asia. Siberia stretches from the Ural Mountains in the west to the Pacific Ocean in the east, and from the Arctic Ocean to the highlands of north-central Kazakhstan and the Mongolian and Chinese borders in the south. Russia controls all of Siberia except the far southwest. Administrative territories on the eastern side of the Urals, along the Pacific coast, and within Kazakhstan are excluded from Siberia in Russian terminology.
