The hotel we got was right in the heart of town, very close to the marketsquare and böttcherstrasse. I liked it!

► Go to the Bremer Ratskeller for food and a wine tour! See the oldest cask wine and taste amazing homemade chocolates along the way.
► MUST SEE! The Bremen town hall with the model ships. Very impressive!!! Don't skip this!

► Visit the historical market square with the town musicians statue amonst other things.
► Go to schlachte embankment for a drink or a sunset stroll, or a market
► Get lost in the small lanes of Schnoor - very pretty old neighborhood!

Bremen, Germany: Exploring The Beautiful Hanseatic City [Travel Guide]

Have you heard of Bremen? Maybe the fairy tale of the donkey, dog cat, and rooster trying to be musicians rings a bell? In any case, Bremen is a gorgeous, historic city on the Weser River - that you have to check out!

Just a quick trip from Hamburg, Bremen is known for its historic sights: the Marktplatz, the famous Rathaus (Town Hall), Bremen Dom (Cathedral), and Böttcherstraße. We absolutely loved wandering around. There's a cool historic village area - known as Schnoorviertel - with tiny houses and alleyways in all directions. We walked the river, checked out a few museums, and even had a coffee (and cake) in the main square just taking in the city life!

St. Peter’s Cathedral features medieval crypts and twin spires. Bremen is a Hanseatic city in northwestern Germany, which belongs to the state Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (also called just Bremen for short). As a commercial and industrial city with a major port on the River Weser, Bremen is part of the Bremen / Oldenburg Metropolitan Region.

Bremen is a major cultural and economic hub in the northern regions of Germany. Bremen is home to dozens of historical galleries and museums, ranging from historical sculptures to major art museums, such as the Übersee-Museum Bremen. Bremen has a reputation as a working class city. Along with this, Bremen is home to a large number of multinational companies and manufacturing centers. Companies headquartered in Bremen include the Hachez chocolate company and Vector Foiltec. Four-time German football champions Werder Bremen are also based in the city. Bremen is some 60 km (37 mi) south from the Weser mouth on the North Sea. With Bremerhaven right on the mouth the two comprise the state of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen .

Bremen has an international airport situated 3 km (2 mi) south of the city centre. The Bremen S-Bahn covers the Bremen/Oldenburg Metropolitan Region, from Bremerhaven in the north to Twistringen in the south and from Oldenburg in the west, centred on Bremen Central Station. It has been in operation since 2010. This network unified existing regional transport in Bremen as well as surrounding cities, including Bremerhaven, Delmenhorst, Twistringen, Nordenham, Oldenburg, and Verden an der Aller. The network lies completely within the area of the Bremen-Lower Saxony Transport Association, whose tariff structure applies.

Bremen / Germany is a city in northwest on the country located at the Weser River. Bremen is known for Hanseatic buildings around the Market Square and also famous by the fairy tale Bremer Stadtmusikanten (Town Musicians of Bremen).

We start our summer walk at the Bremer Stadtmusikanten statue right at the 600 year old Bremen town hall. From there we check the courtyard of the St. Petri Dom Bremen and explore the inner city. We see many squares, the iconic Böttcherstraße on our way to the Weser river. We also head towards a highlight of Bremen - the Schnoorviertel.

The Schnoorviertel is a historic district with medieval houses and a tourist favourite when visiting Bremen.

Our tour continues to visit the eastern part of the city with the Kunsthalle Bremen with some water from the Stadtgraben.

The 2nd half of the video goes back to the city center, where we see the many shopping streets and some malls. We also get to see the Kaffeemühle (Mühle Am Wall) which is a former flour mill.

At last we head to the Bremen central train station, where we end our tour.

Bremen - der perfekte Citytrip

Norddeutsche Lebensart und ein gewisses Understatement – Bremen muss sich neben Hamburg, der großen Nachbarin, keinesfalls verstecken und hat touristisch weitaus mehr zu bieten als die Stadtmusikanten und eine weltberühmte Brauerei. Moderatorin Simin Sadeghi verschafft sich bei einer Weserrundfahrt auf dem Wasser einen ersten Eindruck von Bremen und erfährt dabei, dass die Schifffahrt hier noch immer eine große Rolle spielt.
Simin erkundet mit Stadtführerin Lena Häfermann die unterschiedlichen Stadtviertel, die alle ihren ganz eigenen Charme versprühen. Mit dem Fahrrad ist Simin in der Überseestadt unterwegs. Seit etwa 20 Jahren befindet sich dieses jüngste Bremer Stadtviertel im Aufbau und beherbergt mittlerweile jede Menge Restaurants, Unternehmen und Wohnungen. Am Molenturm macht Simin kurz Pause, genießt die Aussicht – und das etwas feuchte Bremer Wetter.
Ihr Weg führt sie zur Kaffeerösterei Lloyd im alten Gebäude der Kaffee Hag AG. Dort ist sie beim Kaffeerösten dabei und bekommt eine Nachhilfestunde in Sachen Bremer Kaffeekultur. Im Erlebnismuseum Universum gibt es viele physikalische Elemente zum Selbstausprobieren, was es besonders für Familien zu einem attraktiven Ausflugsort macht. Mit dem Ausstellungsleiter Tobias Wolff probiert Simin aus, wie Tornados entstehen, nimmt auf dem Erdbebensofa Platz, schaut tief in eine mysteriöse Blitzkugel und erkundet die besondere Verbindung der Stadt Bremen zur Wissenschaft.
Nach dem silbernen Technikmuseum mit seiner futuristischen Architektur geht es zurück in die Vergangenheit und noch einmal aufs Wasser. Am Torfhafen trifft Simin Torfbauern aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, die von ihrem beschwerlichen Leben erzählt. Hinter der Fahrt mit den Torfkähnen steht übrigens das Bremer Geschichtenhaus, das u.a. historische Bremer Szenen nachstellt und dafür mit Langzeitarbeitslosen arbeitet.
Zum Abschluss geht es ins Restaurant Kvartier, das sich der modernen deutschen Küche verschrieben hat. Das ist umso bemerkenswerter, weil es sich bei den Inhabern um zwei türkische Brüder und einen Thai handelt. Simin kocht mit ihnen bremische Spezialitäten und lässt sich erzählen, wie es zur Idee mit dem Kvartier kam. Nein, Bremen ist nicht laut oder übertrieben – dafür umso sympathischer und echter. Und damit definitiv eine Reise wert!

Im Juli 2017 hat Bremen Tourismus den Stadtmusikanten Express in seine erste Saison geschickt. Mit der komfortablen Elektrobahn bekommen Touristen und Einheimische auf einer Bremen Stadtrundfahrt einen tollen ersten Überblick über die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten in Bremen.

Folgende Bremen Sehenswürdigkeiten gibt es in diesem Reisevideo:
- Marktplatz mit Rathaus und Roland (UNESCO-Welterbe)
- Bremens ältestes Viertel der Schnoor
- Wallanlagen und Ostertor Kulturmeile
- dem Bremer Viertel oder auch Steintorviertel
- das Faulenquartier mit Weserpromenade und Schlachte
- sowie zu guter letzt die Überseestadt

Es gibt zwei unterschiedliche Sightseeing Touren. Die Route der einen Tour für durch die Bremer Innenstadt und die andere führt durch Bremen Überseestadt. Also genau das richtige für einen gelungenen Start der Bremen Reise oder vom Bremen Urlaub. Auch Einheimische bekommen garantiert noch neue Bremen Reisetipps mit auf den Weg!

Auf der ersten Tour erlebt man das bunte Treiben auf dem Marktplatz und entlang der Weserpromenade Schlachte sowie Bremens ältestem Viertel dem Schnoor, die Wallanlagen mit der Ostertor Kulturmeile und natürlich dem Original Bremer Viertel - dem Steintorviertel. Also eine abwechslungsreiche Fahrt in knapp unter einer Stunde. Die zweite Sightseeing Tour führt entlang der Weserpromenade Schlachte direkt in die moderne und neu erschlossene Überseestadt mit ihrer spannenden Vergangenheit als Industriehafen. Während der 90-minütigen Fahrt geht es bis in die Nähe zum Molenfeuer im Überseehafen Süd dem so genannten Mäuseturm am Getreidehafen Areal und wieder zurück in die Innenstadt.

Das kleinste aber zugleich feinste Bundesland ist Bremen. Bremen und Bremerhaven bilden gemeinsam den 2-Städte-Staat. Insgesamt dürfen sich rund 650.000 Menschen glücklich schätzen hier in beiden Städten zu wohnen. Bremerhaven liegt direkt an der Nordseeküste und Einmündung zum Fluss Weser. Bremen liegt 60 Kilometer im Landesinneren weiter flussaufwärts an der Weser.

Situated in the north-west part of Germany, Bremen is the largest city on the River Weser (which is the longest river in Germany that flows only in Germany and not any other country)

It’s mainly known as being an important maritime trade hub. The most important buildings that made Bremen city popular are the Hanseatic buildings in Market Square.

The facade of the Gothic-style town hall is from the Renaissance period, making it a real artwork. that and the large model ships in its upper hall make the town hall a beautiful landmark that you have to see.

Next to the town hall is the Roland statue. This is basically a huge stone figure symbolizing the freedom of trade. Another popular attraction in Bremen is St. Peter’s Cathedral which features medieval crypts and twin spires.

In this Bremen city tour, we will visit all the landmarks and buildings above, as well as a few other places.

Walking in BREMEN / Germany ????????- Central City - 4K 60fps (UHD)

Bremen is a city in northwest Germany located at the Weser River. The city is known for Hanseatic buildings around the Market Square. In Germany Bremen is also famous by the fairy tale Bremer Stadtmusikanten (Town Musicians of Bremen).

This time we are in Bremen and it's late summer (September 2020).

From our view at the windmill we walk into the city centre, check out the Lloyd-Passage with the Mall of Fame and Sögestraße in the main shopping area. Around the market square are the Dom and also some churches as well as the city hall and cafés. On this late summer day people enjoy the nice weather.

As we continue to explore the inner city we see the Domshof and Sögestraße again on our way to the statue for the Town Musicians of Bremen.

One more sight is the Böttcherstraße that we missed on the winter walk. This short street ranks among the tourist attractions thanks to the unusual architecture.

In the end we see the Weser river and end this quick tour of the city centre of Bremen.

Bremen City Center Walking Tour, Germany, Summer 2022

Hi everyone,

We made this video walking in the city center of Bremen/Germany on a sunny summer afternoon.
Bremen is an old and very picturesque city in the North of Germany. From here it’s not far to the North Sea and to other popular cities like Hamburg or Hanover for example.
Bremen has its own airport and from there you can reach the city center by tram in 10 min.
There are lots of things to explore in this city and the old traditional buildings are stunning. Bremen’s harbour is also really old and used to be the most modern one in Europe around 1880.
