Known to most locals as Centru Vechi (the Old Centre), Bucharest's Old Town is defined by the area bordered by the Dambovita river to the south, Calea Victoriei to the west, Bulevardul Brătianu to the east and Regina Elisabeta to the north. The area is more or less all that’s left of pre-World War II Bucharest. What the war didn’t destroy (and it destroyed a fair bit: allied bombing was fierce during the early part of 1944) communism did, most notably in the form of the grandiose Civic Centre project that saw almost a fifth of the total area of the city flattened to make way for Bulevardul Unirii and Casa Poporului. Indeed, that anything survives at all is little short of a miracle.
While much of Bucharest changed beyond recognition after 1989, nothing compared to the transformation of Old Town/Lipscani during the boom years of the late naughties, which saw what was very much a no-go area with almost nothing to offer visitors into one of the Romanian capital’s liveliest entertainment districts. Much of that development, however, was ad hoc, as is so often alas the Bucharest way: posh restaurants and trendy clubs opened in buildings which looked as though they may fall down at any moment.

Subterranean Theme Park in Salt Mine
Salina Turda, is now a museum and tourist attraction located in the Transylvania region of Romania.
The site is a large underground wonderland with a brightly lit modern art theme park nestled 120 meters below the surface of the Earth inside one of the oldest salt mines ever known.
Salina Turda is today not only a museum of salt mining, but is also a subterranean Theme Park.

We went to Romania for a concert that was supposed to be in the city of Cluj, where we also stayed. But it would be a shame to travel so much and not explore the surroundings, so we also went on a trip.
But few hours before the concert, we found out that it was canceled. It was cancelled few weeks ago, but the fake company was still selling tickets. So we lost money because the ground went down beneath it...
It ruined our mood quite a bit and disrupted the whole atmosphere of the trip, but there was nothing that could be done.
By visiting Dracula's famous castle Bran, I fulfilled one of my travel desires. In truth, I expected the castle to be bigger and the experience to be better. But it wasn't bad, the castle was nice, just the amount of torture tools and the thought of what went on there was absolutely horrible...
Since cats always find me and I find them, I had one restaurant companion at the beginning of the video, as you can see, and another under the castle :D Some roads were very good, while on others we were worried whether we would even cross them without breaking the car or hitting any animal.
On the way from Bran Castle back to Cluj, dogs were constantly running across the road right in front of our car, or cows blocked the road when they were going home from pasture to sleep :D
Out of everything we saw in Romania in those few days, I liked the unique Salina Turda salt cave the most.
Cluj made a mixed impression on us. There were a lot of buildings and roads that were in the process of being built and repaired, but they looked like they had been in the process for several years and unchanged. When leaving, as a bonus, I also filmed tasteful houses of locals, which we were literally amazed at and speechless... :D

Alexandru Ioan Cuza, or Alexandru Ioan I, also anglicised as Alexander John Cuza; 20 March 1820 – 15 May 1873) was the first domnitor (Ruler) of the Romanian Principalities through his double election as prince of Moldavia on 5 January 1859 and prince of Wallachia on 24 January 1859, which resulted in the unification of both states. He was a prominent figure of the Revolution of 1848 in Moldavia. Following his double election, he initiated a series of reforms that contributed to the modernization of Romanian society and of state structures.
As ruler of the Romanian Principalities, he supported a political and diplomatic activity for the recognition of the union of Moldavia and Wallachia by the suzerain Ottoman Empire and achieved constitutional and administrative unity between Moldavia and Wallachia in 1862, when the Romanian Principalities officially adopted the name Romanian United Principalities with a single capital at Bucharest, a single national assembly and a single government.
Alexandru's reform policies alienated a large coalition of conservatives and radical liberals, for the most part landowners and business owners. On 22 February 1866, he was forced to abdicate and leave the country.

Transylvania, Romania Travel - Transylvania is the largest region of Romania and probably the best known one. When you visit Transylvania you dive into a mix of cultures, nature and history. Transylvania is a diverse region: it is worth trying to observe the differences that exist within the region, both culturally and naturally. This region is a place with abundant history and multicultural convergence. All over Transylvania the cohabitation of Romanians, Hungarians, Saxons and Roma is the leading theme. Transylvania is rich in myth and misty medieval sites: there about 100 castles and fortresses and about 70 fortified churches. Romania's greatest and best preserved castles and fortresses are to be found here. But for the more curious traveler, there are many small villages with old houses and fortified churches. As Transylvania is circled by the Carpathian mountains there are a lot of mountain forests and hiking or climbing possibilities. All over the Carpathians there are great national parks. In the center of Transylvania there are green hills and rivers. Most big cities are very western Europe like, and the infrastructure is generally good, making it easy for travelers.

Astăzi vom vizita Muzeul Icoanelor și Cărților Vechi aflat în incinta Complexului Monahal Bârsana
Muzeul are parter și două etaje. Chiar la intrare se află un stand de unde se pot cumpăra obiecte bisericești și suveniruri, în restul parterului sunt expuse icoane vechi și cărți bisericești vechi adunate din zonă. La primul etaj se afla o frumoasa expozitie etnografica din Maramures, iar la ultimul etaj, singura construita doar din lemn, expozitie de vanzare in care sunt icoane pe sticla si alte obiecte realizate de maici.

Today we will visit the Museum of Icons and Old Books located inside the Barsana Monastic Complex
The museum has a ground floor and two floors. Right at the entrance there is a stand where you can buy church objects and souvenirs, in the rest of the ground floor are exposed old icons and old church books gathered from the area. On the first floor there is a beautiful ethnographic exhibition from Maramures, and on the top floor, the only one built only of wood, an exhibition for sale in which there are icons on glass and other objects made by nuns.

Europe's Largest Salina Salt Old Mine Unirea | Slanic Prahova Country | Romania | full tour | full HD Nov 2020
Slănic mine is an old salt mine,located in Slănic,Prahova County,Romania, just 100 km north of Bucharest. The salt mine is open for visitors,featuring a microclimate with natural air-conditioning and constant temperature and atmospheric pressure throughout the year. It is made up of two levels, named Unirea and Mihai. Many of the visitors come for its supposed healing effects due to the purity of the air. Throughout the mine you will find various types of equipment for recreational activity such as playground equipment and some ping-pong tables. One area is sectioned off and is used for medical patients with lung cancer to come and rest in.
The work for the opening of the Unirea salt mine started in 1938 and the exploitation of the salt from this mine was performed between 1943-1970.
The exploitation was done downward from the ceiling to the basis in successive slices of 2.2 meters with a horizontal cutting at the basis and vertically along the walls. The de-rocking was made through shooting. The transportation of the resulting material was effected with the tubs up the shaft using a cage to the installation of preparation and expedition.

The mine is composed of 14 chambers with trapezoidal profiles, having a 10 m opening to the ceiling and 32 m to the ground, a height of 54 m and a wall inclination angle of 60 degrees. The shore difference between the surface and the base of the mine is of 208 m . The excavated space occupies a volume of 2.9 million m³ and it is extended on a surface of 78,000 m².[citation needed]
After 1970, the mine becomes a touristic objective, offering exceptional natural conditions as a result of its microclimate rich in aerosols, which proved its well-known efficiency in treating the respiratory diseases. The air-conditioning of the mine is natural, with a constant temperature during the whole year of 12 °C, an atmospheric pressure of 730 mmHg and a humidity with an average of 10% lower than the surface average.
