THE VENICE OF JAPAN | Exploring Kurashiki's Historical Town
There are not many tourists who know about the historical town of Kurashiki on the outskirts of Okayama. I was very fortunate to find out about this area when I was passing through and I would highly recommend you visit here if you enjoy the more traditional side of Japanese culture. It is very easy to get to if you are already staying in Okayama or there is also the option of staying right in Kurashiki with many beautiful ryokans. 【Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter】This townscape, known for the characteristically Japanese white walls of its residences and the willow trees lining the banks of the Kurashiki River, has earned recognition as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
