Hiroshima In A Day: Miyajima | Japan Travel Guide
Japan travel guide to what to do and eat in Miyajima, Hiroshima in a day!
Hiroshima is near the bottom of the main island Honshu and a must visit when coming to Hiroshima is the island Itsukushima, more popularly known as Miyajima. It’s one of Japan’s top 3 scenic sights, most famous for its giant torii gate, which at high tide seems to float on the water.
Miyajima island is also a great place for a day trip from the Kansai region like Kyoto and Osaka but I would recommend staying in Hiroshima for a few days to explore Hiroshima city and another day for Miyajima island.
I started my trip off at Hiroshima station and took a 25 minute train ride to JR Miyajima-guchi station.
From there it’s less than a 5 minute walk to the ferry terminal where you will take a 10 minute ferry ride to go to Miyajima island.

When visiting Hiroshima, it is a MUST to visit the incredible island of Miyajima, known as the 'Island Where God Lives'. From the cute deer who are waiting to welcome you as soon as your arrive, to the delicious traditional restaurants and shops on Omote Sando Street, to the jaw dropping views you get from the top of Mt Misen, there is something for everyone on this beautiful island. Ideally I would recommend staying overnight at a local Ryokan, but a day trip is also a great way to visit, just make sure you leave quite early in the morning if you plan on climbing up and down the mountain. Tsushima Island, Japan
Tsushima (対馬）is an island in Nagasaki prefecture that's closer to Korea than mainland Japan. I lived there for a year as a part of the JET Program. There are 6 towns on the island: Kamitsushima, Kamiagata, Mine, Toyotama, Mitsushima, and Izuhara, and they all have lots of interesting places.

I went on a four-day trip to Tsushima in October. I had always been interested in Tsushima Island, but it was the Ghost of Tsushima that really made me decide to visit there. Although I don't usually play games at all, I happened to see a trailer for the game and was really impressed. Actually it's really beautiful there like beyond my imagination and became very happy four days.

Japan's Most Beautiful Cycling Route | Shimanami Kaido Travel Guide
Shimanami Kaido is one of Japan's most famous cycling routes connecting the main island Honshu with Shikoku.
Ever since I heard about this bikeway a few months ago, I knew I had to travel there some day to experience it for myself!!
So, I packed up my bags, bought a Shinkansen ticket and took a spontaneous trip down to Onomichi, Hiroshima.
Shimanami Kaido Bikeway runs between Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture and Imabari in Ehime Prefecture, hopping across 6 islands of the Seto Inland Sea.
You can start your journey from either the Hiroshima side or the Ehime side. I started from the Hiroshima side because the views get better and better as you go along towards Ehime.
