Города, у которых есть всё, чтобы стать туристическими центрами. Но пока их наследие пылится среди разрухи и русской нищеты. Мы отправляемся в Торжок и Пятигорск.
Что касается Торжка: идеальное расположение на главной туристической дороге страны, десятки памятников архитектуры, сильная кулинарная идентичность — именно тут придумали пожарские котлеты! Нет у Торжка только одного — хозяина. У Пятигорская тоже огромный туристический потенциал: дома, Лермонтовская галерея, кофейня Гукасова — зданиям повезло, что нет денег на «реставрацию».

Tver Region (from 1935 to 1990 - Kalinin Region) is a subject of the Russian Federation.
The administrative center is the city of Tver. Until 1929, the Tver province existed as part of the Russian Empire and the RSFSR.
It borders on the Moscow, Yaroslavl, Vologda, Novgorod, Smolensk and Pskov regions.
Formed on January 29, 1935.
The Tver region is located in the west of the middle part of the East European Plain. It stretches 350 km from north to south and 450 km from west to east. The area of the region is 84,201 km², which is slightly more than the territory of the Leningrad Region. The distance from the Moscow ring road to the regional border is 90 km.
The territory of the Tver region has been inhabited since the final Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic. In the Bronze Age, tribes of the battle-ax culture and its eastern version, the Fatyanovo culture, lived on the territory of the Tver Volga region. Subsequently, measure. The main type of tourism in the Tver region is recreational recreation - more than half of the tourists. Excursion and educational tourism accounts for 26% of the number of visits. The third place is taken by resort recreation and treatment - 19% of the number of tourists visiting the Tver region.
The main centers of tourism on the territory of the Tver region are Lake Seliger and the system of the Upper Volga lakes, the source of the Volga River, the cities of Tver, Torzhok, Staritsa, Vyshny Volochek, Rzhev and Toropets, the Ivankovskoye reservoir - otherwise referred to as the Moscow Sea. Tourism is actively developing on the territory of the Kimrsky and Kalyazinsky districts, as well as in Vesyegonsk.
The contribution of the tourism industry to the regional economy is determined by the total industry income of 4.5 billion rubles. (data from 2008). Taking into account the multiplier effect, the share of tourism in the GRP is 6.78%.

Расположен на реке Тверце. Основан на рубеже X—XI веков.
Бывший крупный торговый пункт на пути в Новгород и Петербург из южных районов Руси. До середины XV века — пограничный город Новгородской республики.
Город сохраняет архитектурные памятники XVII—XIX веков: в том числе жилую застройку, храмы, Борисоглебский и Воскресенский монастыри. Развита полиграфическая промышленность и производство пожарной техники.
