Amazing Places In Germany for your Bucketlist|Blautopf, Blaubeuren
We wanted to go to Rothenburg Ob der Tauber but the travel time of 3 hours from Munich by train was not feasible. Blautopf and Blaubeuren were suggested by chance, and I'm glad we decided to go. This is a travel guide around magical places in Germany. We enjoyed it more as both towns were not swarmed with tourists. It was an hour and a half by train to Ulm and another 20 minutes from Ulm to Blautopf. Germany offered a 9Euro ticket of travel anywhere for a month which was handy.

Those who are good on foot can discover beautiful views of several waterfall levels here. The descent and ascent are over steps and rocky paths, so nothing with a stroller. The conditions should also be normally good if you want to see the lowest and longest waterfall. Unfortunately, there is no kiosk or restaurant right by the waterfall, so make sure you take something with you.

The Black Forest is a large forested mountain range in the state of Baden-Württemberg in south-west of Germany.
It is bounded by the Rhine valley to the west and south.
Its highest peak is the Feldberg with an elevation of 1,493 metres.
The region is roughly oblong in shape with a length of 160 kilometres and breadth of up to 50 kilometres.
The main industry of the Black Forest is tourism. Black Forest Tourism assesses that there are around 140,000 direct full-time jobs in the tourist sector and around 34.8 million tourist overnight stays in 2009.
In spring, summer and autumn an extensive network of hiking trails and mountain bike routes enable different groups of people to use the natural region.
In winter, of course, it is the various types of winter sport that come to the fore.
There are facilities for both downhill and Nordic skiing in many places.
The most heavily frequented tourist destinations and resorts in the Black Forest are the Titisee and the Schluchsee.
Both lakes offer opportunities for water sports like diving and windsurfing.
From Freiburg these lakes may be reached on the B 31 through the Höllental, via the Hirschsprung monument located at the narrowest point in the valley, and the Oswald Chapel below the Ravenna Gorge.
One oft-visited town is Baden-Baden with its thermal baths and festival hall.
Other thermal baths are found in the spa resorts of Badenweiler, Bad Herrenalb, Bad Wildbad, Bad Krozingen, Bad Liebenzell and Bad Bellingen.
Noted for their fine interiors are the former monastery of St. Blasien as well as the abbeys of Sankt Trudpert, St. Peter and St. Märgen.
Alpirsbach Abbey and the ruined Hirsau Abbey were built of red sandstone in the Hirsau style.
The Murg valley, the Kinzig valley, the Triberg Waterfalls and the Open Air Museum at Vogtsbauernhof are also very popular.
There are well known winter sports areas around the Feldberg, near Todtnau with its FIS downhill ski run of Fahler Loch and in Hinterzarten, a centre and talent forge for German ski jumpers.
In the Northern Black Forest the winter sports areas are concentrated along the Black Forest High Road and on the ridge between the Murg and Enz rivers around Kaltenbronn.
The height differences in the mountains are used in many places for hang gliding and paragliding.

In the middle of the #Todtnau mountains — where I live — between the tourist resorts #Todtnauberg and Aftersteg, one of the highest natural waterfalls in Germany, the Todtnau #waterfall, plunges 97 meters into the valley.

The headwaters of the Stübenbach are located at the 1,386-meter high #Stübenwasen. From there it meanders through the high valley of Todtnauberg, where other clear #mountain streams join. These then fall together with a loud roar in two steps over a huge granite massif into the valley. The completely natural waterfall is one of the ten most beautiful natural monuments in Germany.
The waterfall is just one of the countless natural beauties that I enjoy up here every day. But I'm also genuinely concerned about the natural world. The forest is dying increasingly, the soil is too dry, animals are disappearing or are on the verge of extinction, especially endemic species. The damage is immense and is being swept under the carpet by the authorities. They need investors for future tourism. When you go into the forest and the mountains and keep your eyes open, you will see what's going on everywhere: the great dying is in full swing.
Unfortunately, too many tourists are allowed up here in this extremely sensitive environment. Animals need an undisturbed habitat and accessible nutrition sources, almost every day I see hiking and skiing tourists in areas where they don't belong. And on top of that, they throw their trash everywhere. According to their understanding, they paid for it ...
Here, too, money rules this little world, like everywhere else. I understand very well that the people here make a living from tourism, but it is already overdue to look for new and alternative sources of income.

HÄNGEBRÜCKE TOTLAUF IM SCHWARZWALD: Blackforestline - Ein atemberaubendes Meisterwerk der Ingenieurskunst!
Das Wagnis kann beginnen. Wer ist schwindelfrei? Wer traut sich auf dieses spektakuläre Bauwerk, das nun vollendet ist? Die Hängebrücke Todtnau mit einer Spannweite von 450 Metern und einem Gewicht von 120 Tonnen wirkt trotz ihrer Höhe von 120 Metern völlig schwerelos. Sie hängt ganz im Süden der Republik im Schwarzwald, in der Nähe von Todtnau.
Hier oben zu stehen und zu gehen, ist ein erhebendes Gefühl, fast wie fliegen. Plötzlich schweben wir quasi mit dem Falken auf Augenhöhe und können den großen Wasserfall unter uns sehen. Das Wiesental auf der einen Seite und oben wirklich wie ein Adlerhorst. Das ist ein sehr, sehr besonderes Erlebnis, muss ich sagen.
Passend dazu wurde auch ein Tanz eingetanzt, um die Brücke zu segnen. Damit ist es nun Zeit für die allerersten Besucher. Und wie ist der Panoramablick auf wackeligem Boden? Schön, hast du keine Angst? Cool, schon beeindruckend! Jetzt den Wasserfall direkt von oben zu sehen, das geht sogar senkrecht von oben runter. Direkt unter den Füßen gibt es erst ein Gitter, dann 120 Meter gar nichts und dann den Boden.
Verantwortlich dafür und für alles andere ist Roland Haag, heute ein stolzer Brückenbauer. Ein riesiges Bauchgefühl. Es ist sensationell, wie glücklich die Leute sind, die hier drauf gehen, und wie sie glücklich wieder zurückkommen und sagen: Mega! Man kann das nicht anders beschreiben. Man hat wirklich etwas geschaffen, das Leute glücklich macht.
Der Erschaffungsprozess dauerte neun Monate. Erst als diese zwei Stahlseile gespannt waren, konnten die eigentlichen Bauarbeiten so richtig starten. Das Ziel dieser fantastischen Konstruktion war es, den Todtnauer Wasserfall, 97 Meter hoch und Deutschlands zweithöchsten außerhalb der Alpen, besser zugänglich zu machen.
Mit der Stadt Todtnau wurde eine Vereinbarung getroffen, um die Todtnauer Wasserfälle von einem anderen Blickwinkel aus zu betrachten.

GERMANY IN 2 MINUTES
I am one post away from my #smallwins goal.
Pardon my shaky footage in the video, they were my lack of knowledge period in not investing in a good camera & gimbal. Flipping back through my throwback trips, made me realized how important stabilized footage is!
So a few pieces of useful advice:
1. Invest in a good camera for travels (not necessary to be DSLR/Mirrorless)
2. Invest in a good gimbal (gimbal are amazing equipment for stabilizing video footage even in shaky conditions)
3. Not sure what to get? (DM me your concerns, from there I can feed you with more information)
*Disclaimer: I am a photographer, not a videographer, advice was all based on my years of experience in learning about those gears and equipment, nothing fancy, but just felt that it is decent enough.*
This video sum up parts of my Germany trip (places where I managed & remembered to capture video), there’s still a whole chunk of places I been to (they were all transformed into photograph state in my previous IG feed posts), I did share my experiences and tips in there, so be sure to check them out.
To summarise my travelogue content:
- Landshut (Month of Oct-Dec will always have small popup of Christmas Market everywhere)
- TumblingerstraBe (Graffiti district, small/big pieces of artwork can be seen there)
- Prien Am Chiemsee (Largest lake in Bavaria that you do not want to miss)
- Baden-Württemberg (Legendary Black Forest in Freiburg, if you have time, recommended to visit)
- Todtnau Waterfall (One of the tourist landmarks you might want to experience)
- Berchtesgaden Alps (But if you coming to this place, just look for this keyword: Königssee)
- Marienplatz (visiting Munich, you won’t miss this area, it is like SG Town District, but in this case in Germany)
- Protest Ongoing (lucky enough to see protest going on, I don’t think it happened every time or every day)
- Oktoberfest (largest largest largest event in Germany, totally worth experiencing the crowds, the beers, the music, it is AMAZINGGGGG)
- BMW Museum (Car lovers, gonna be a heaven for you)
- Garching, TUM Campus (It is my campus, just want to feature the slide HAHAHA)
- Allianz Arena (Tourist being tourist, everyone went, I also want to experience and check them out)
- Kloster Andechs (A long train ride here, highly recommended to eat their pork knuckles and pair with a mug of beer)
- Munich Carnival (wherever there are crowds = there’s fun)
- Circus Krone (My first time watching circus, kinda interesting for me to experience)
- FC Bayern Munich (I visited this place many times, Professional Basketball League, and the crowd anticipation was so GOOD)

Todtnau Waterfall
In the early summer of 2015 we headed to the waterfall near Todtnau in the Belchen region of the Black Forest. With its 97 metres this is one of the highest waterfalls in Germany. Very impressive and beautiful!
